2023 NWS VOLUNTEER VIDEO DESCRIPTION
NWS is an all-volunteer organization. We depend not only on our all-volunteer Board of Directors, but also on our dedicated member volunteers. Our volunteers make it possible to hold annual juried exhibitions, publish a quarterly newsletter, and offer workshops and demonstrations. They support our goal of fostering a community of watermedia artists by providing opportunities for them to show their work and grow as artists.
Volunteers lead our educational initiatives and collaborations with other arts organizations to further the appreciation and understanding of watermedia as an art form.
The dedication and commitment of our volunteers is an integral part of our ability to promote the art of watermedia. Their generosity of time, talent and resources has helped us create these meaningful events, exhibitions and educational opportunities for our members and the public.
We are able to carry on the traditions of the National Watercolor Society and support the growth and development of watercolor as a vital art form because of the immense support of our volunteers.
Volunteers are an integral part of our art community and we are grateful for all they do. Thank you for helping us achieve our mission and for making a difference in the lives of artists and art lovers everywhere.

Well-balanced exhibition showing such a variety of watercolors. My favorites would include Shanthi Kumar's doily with cherries which shows a sensitive juxtaposition of pattern and texture with the doily, the cherries, and the crystal reflections while Kim Grandhaug's abstract displayed a masterfully executed ac
rylic attack on blue and yellow. Also, the "Bats" arrangement is such an unusual subject and so well executed. White background yet. Every painting had its own intrinsic skill set.
