The Member Show is held in the Spring and is open to all current Associate and Signature members. This Exhibition has one highly qualified juror. Cash Prizes of $10,000 are awarded. Three (3) $2000; Two (2) $1000; Four (4) $500 named to honor NWS Past Presidents. One ScholARTship is also selected.
The National Watercolor Society is one of the oldest non-profit artist-led societies in the United States. Our mission - encouraging innovation in watermedia through education, outreach, and exhibitions - promote the advancement of watermedia and inspire the next generation of watermedia artists.

Extraordinary show,,,Mr. Kennedy’s educated, astute and accessible observations are so inspirational …thanks
Mr Kennedy’s analysis was excellent. I’m a watercolor artist and love watching the various watercolor society’s online shows. I have a BFA plus post graduate credits, and sometimes I wonder why certain paintings were accepted into a show. His explanation of why the paintings work was very helpful. I feel like I learned as much as I would have in a three credit art history class.
