    Just because he's becoming more human, doesn't mean that he can die when his limbs are missing. It hurts like Hell, but until he becomes imbued into the doll to the point where his injuries are realistic, he can't die. He did however, have a functional heart-like object, so he died from that. Then the sequels happened and this theory became sh*t.

Also that clown dream sequence was the inspiration for Stephen King's IT, there you have it.

    Not to turn into Douchey McNitpick, but at 2:32, Charles Lee Ray/Chucky didn't "fool" the cop into driving past him. In the film, it's shown very clearly that there was a getaway driver parked in a van waiting for Chucky, who then sped off when the cop car approached, leaving him behind. The cop (played by Prince Humperdink) chasing Chucky screams to the cop car to follow the van, so the cop car peels off of chasing Chucky to pursue the van. This is a pretty funny review, but that scene was taken way out of context. As huge a Nostalgia Critic and Phelous fan as I am, it still does kind of bug me when reviews will manipulate footage to manufacture "mistakes" in the movie that aren't really there.

    It seems some people always say "But it's just a doll and it would be easy to defend against a little toy". I think that's what work's in chuckies favor (I know it's just a movie but typing is fun). I think anyone being attacked by chucky would be frozen in fear but more than that... dis-belief. It always take's his victims a few moment's to realize "Holy shit, did that thing just attack me" and that's when chuckie strike's. Just look at the mom when she first meet's chucky. She obviously trying to convey fear but I think she's going for pure dis-belief as well. I know I would doubt my eye's if I thought I saw a little doll running around :) just a thought on a great review of a classic favorite of mine

    Child's Play was never supposed to be a flat-out horror movie, it was supposed to be a goofy good time, which it was... Now as far as the recent remake goes... Sigh

    • @EagleflightAnimations
      @EagleflightAnimations Před 4 lety

      I’m very mixed on the remake. It’s suspenseful, it has decent characters, you sympathize with Buddi(I know he’s called Chucky, but I like Buddi) but you know what he’s doing is bad, there’s really good kills, and the CGI, while not always great, is still pretty cool. I would’ve REALLY liked this movie, but...it just shouldn’t have been Child’s Play. I believe if the remake was just its own thing, it would’ve done SO MUCH better. All you have to do is change up the names. Rename the movie Buddi, rename Chucky to Buddi, change up Andy, Karen, and Mike Norris’s names, and BOOM. Original horror movie that could stand on its own.
      This is just my opinion. You like the remake, great! You hate the remake, great! Opinions are valid! This is just me doing my own personal mini review of the 2019 Child’s Play remake

    Child's Play is incredibly stupid but I absolutely love it. It's one of my favorite horror movies ever. The first time I saw this movie I was about 9 years old in the 4th grade. I got it from Netflix when Netflix was still relatively new and it wasn't dominated by the business strategy of instant streaming. I remember watching it and being blown away like the toy store in the opening scene because it was my first horror movie I'd ever seen. I'm 17 now and about to be 18 and I've probably seen it around 10 times since then. The point is, nostalgia.

    This movie frightened the shit out of me when I first saw it. I had a chucky doll. I watched 1-3 in succession of each other. It terrified me so much when I was 6 I literally stayed up for over 2 weeks and broke my sisters toys and threw away the Chucky I had. I grew out of it as I got older. Now my 5 year old and I watch it and he laughs and enjoys it thoroughly. Ironically it's one of his favorite movies. He really enjoyed the new one. That's what I find weird I was scared shitless when I was his age, I think he enjoys it cause I enjoy it. We have watched almost every classic horror movie together. He laughs at all of them.

    when chucky says that it's the witch doctor's fault for him being stuck in the doll, why is it not his own fault? He was the one who transferred his soul into the doll. there was no one standing in front of him telling him to. He could have just as easily let himself die and be reincarnated or something. He didn't have to do this. Or he could have waited to reveal himself until he found a baby or something and transferred into that. the baby couldn't resist and he could start his life over again. He should have probably discussed this more with the witch doctor before he got into all this trouble. Then he could of had a more solid plan in case this happened. but i guess the possibility of the serial killer being "born again" wasn't scary enough so the had to put him in a non threatening doll body and have him be semi invincible. I think it would have been more interesting to follow the psychotic baby killer through his whole killing career than watch a doll be reincarnated five times with even sillier concepts than this one. Congrats on expanding on a really lame idea. Thanks for all the pain.

    Came here after watching the remake...different premises, and Mark Hamill can pull off the creepy, but...too much Joker in there. Dourif is a hard act to follow. (Also, isn't Dourif Shakespearean-Trained?)
    Also, can confirm...that is not how ECT (electroconvulsive therapy) equipment is supposed to work. Then again, when you factor in a serial-killing doll messing with the controls and doing improvised crap with the safety systems, along with...well...horror tropes, yeah. But even then, forensically speaking, that's not what happens. So, score another for the critics.
