As we watch this video, let us also remember the tragic death of James Dobbin; a Harland and Wolff worker who died after sustaining injuries resulting from failing to get out of the way of a wooden support beam that fell over as the ship slid into the water. He was the eighth and final man to die during the construction of RMS Titanic
I was thinking about the worker deaths that occurred during the construction. Definitely part of the history, not to be forgotten!
RIP
Also Jack Dawson, who loved ice fishing and drawing women amputees 😂😂😂
@@paulwoodford1984 get out kid
@@JPSRCE1987 i’m 38, how dare you. I bet you wouldn’t let me on the piece of wood either. 😂😂
Absolutely phenomenal. That last shot slowly revealing the Olympic....goosebumps!
Yeah, the one sister that DID survive her career.
“Hey big sis!!”
The Olympic is broken in two in the atlantic
@@paulwoodford1984 dude. the swap is physically and theoretically impossible, theres no way harland & wolff would've been able to swap every single thing in the ship as it was all labeled
@@paulwoodford1984 Oh look, a conspiracy theorist.
Aw, Olympic is being a big sister in that last clip. It's heartbreaking to remember she'll never truly know neither of her sisters, and she'll have to keep the Olympic class on her shoulders until her untimely demise.
Old Reliable should NEVER have been scrapped. She and her sisters will always be the most beautiful ships in the world to me.
For better or worse, "Titanic" interest and nostalgia didn't kick in until the 1950s, and in the mid-1930s all "Oly" represented was an ocean liner past her design life and her prime.
and make her a museum, were nobody pays to see her due no money, lol
Simply beautiful!
Yeah!
You said it my friend!
So majestic a true masterpiece
@@valeriem.acevedoortiz4051 indeed it is, my friend
There’s a Titanic 4D map that shows the titanic’s launch and it’s so low quality and doesn’t have sound, this restored my sanity
Hard to believe that less than a year later, this magnificent ship will end up as a shattered wreckage two and half miles down below the North Atlantic..😢😢 RIP Titanic...💐💐
At the time but definitely not now
I don't think I'll ever be able to fully comprehend or appreciate the sheer scale of all that wasted, exquisite craftsmanship, from highly skilled engineers, carpenters, painters, metal workers, all the sweat, man hours, care and passion that went into building that ship, for it all to end up at the bottom of the Atlantic, it's all so desperately sad.
@@ljones396 ...The tradesmen that put all that exquisite work into her must have been devastated when they heard the tragic news of her sinking.
Not to mention the lives lost building this incredible beauty, I will forever be fascinated by this tragic loss of all that was involved, Tribute to Titanic may you live on forever! 🙏❤
I know what you mean. I have been researching Titanic for the last 34 years of my life and it still pains my soul seeing her before she went down. Just knowing all of the work and love that went into her construction and then seeing her going down taking 1,502 souls with her is painful to me. The people of Belfast wouldn't talk about her at all for years after her sinking. To this day it's still painful for later generations to speak of her knowing that she was built there. It's a truly sad affair all around.
Love that you put the Olympic at the end. Kinda heart warming and I even said "aww" out loud. It's like a big sis watching her little sis on her big day. 🥺
❤❤❤ I love your comment
Ee
The wide shot that pans to her sister waiting there for Titanic gave me goosebumps. And the sound design... and the render...
Terrific work! Absolutely amazing!!

I agree!
I've always loved the Olympic more due to her war history. A pity Britainic has been forgotten compared to her older sisters.
Titanic engine
3:16 made me cry. Olympic seeing her sister being born 😊🎉 And less than a year later she would loose her 😢
Olympic and Titanic being in close proximity always has you feel some way simply because the moments where they were together were very few.
Absolutely stunning... the final shot with Olympic gave me the impression of an older sister greeting their younger sister into the world.
This looks like you went back in time and recorded it. Well done
I was thinking the same thing.
Now they need the people and that will really bring home the history of that time. People preparing people boarding and seeing them going into their rooms.
If you recorded it it might have looked more like this: czcams.com/video/zsdn7oZK6ao/video.html
Olympic observing in the background at the end really touched the heart strings. An excellent piece of H&W/WSL marketing.
Beautiful that Olympic was included.
Shot at the end with Olympic is superb, well done all!
I was grinning ear to ear when Olympic came into view. She is my all time favorite and my hope and dreams include the THG giving her a dlc one day.
Two beautiful sisters together if only for a few occasions.
Love it!
Unbelievably beautiful! I absolutely love the final shot of Titanic in the background and Olympic in the foreground.
Well it is historically accurate.
Weeks before her maiden voyage
The size of the Titanic must have been insane at the time for people to see, I still could not imagine seeing the size of it. Beautiful animation.
Titanic and her two sisters, were, when they launched, the largest ships in the world going by displacement and length.
I have seen RMS Queen Mary 2, big doesn't even begin to describe her. I reckon it's the same way for those who saw Titanic.
@@seawolf4846 Most likely, I wish I could go see the Queen Mary or Queen Mary 2, except that costs money, which I need money to save up for other things. Maybe in the future, hopefully
@@loganwhite8094 - The residents of Belfast had seen Olympic and Titanic taking shape since 1909 ("Oly's" keel being laid in December 1908), so strictly speaking they'd had plenty of time to get used to their size. By most surviving accounts, the workers at H&W were very proud of their efforts though.
@@loganwhite8094 QM2 was in Sidney a few months ago and I took many photos of her at different times of day and dusk. One day I want to sail on QM2, but it's too similar to any modern cruise ship on the inside - it only somewhat resembles the Titanic on the outside
@@turricanedtc3764 well yeah I know, but still the vessels were massive
As always, you all never cease to impress. This is absolutely beautiful and somewhat moving. Congratulations to all involved.
That was so sweet in the end. Olympic being there to watch her sister's launching.
If I'm not mistaken the same day, Titanic was lunched 31st May 1911 was also when Harland & Wolf handed over Olympic to the White Star Line that is why she is shown in the end ready to leave her builder and set sail Liverpool and Southampton for her maiden voyage on the 14th of June.
That’s true. They actually wanted to have Titanic be launched the same day Olympic would leave the shipyard. May 31, 1911.
Some of the angles seem to be inspired by the documentary Titanic: Birth of a Legend
..Even I thought the same...Similar reproduction... .
Incredible! Seeing the camera pan out to show Olympic at the end was the icing on the cake! Love it!
Showing the Olympic nearby at the end was an ideal touch! Wasn’t expecting that!
Wow, never thought I'd see an animation like this, very well done! Love the sound effects. Great to see Old Reliable at the end too! ;)
The Olympic at the end of the video was an especially nice touch. Beautiful!
I like that you got the forward B Deck promenade correct on the Olympic as it differed slightly from the Titanic with the Olympics not being covered.
Absolutely stunning work gentlemen it's an honor to be your patron gentlemen. To everyone reading this comment every single donation helps making this amazing project a reality. This team deserves a standing ovations for their efforts and dedication...
..Most of it are their labor of love...They don't earn much from it....But some impatient people have already started demanding their money back on various social platforms... .
May titanic and her builders be remembered on this day
Gentlemen, you never fail to impress or please in the world of computer-generated images. You excel with anything Titanic. Please _do_ carry on excelling!
Agreed. Along with paying homage to the Birth of a Legend documentary. My Name is Lincoln should’ve been added like those old animated recreations of the launch from the doc.
I love that final shot of Olympic and newborn Titanic. So so cool
absolutely awesome rendering! The scene gave me shivers, thinking about how something so majestic, a marvel of engineering and design, will end up at the bottom of the sea in just a short period of time is a powerful reminder of how fleeting each moment is in this world.
And us as humans never to be arrogants.. seldom spoken but arrogance was just as guilty as the iceberg that sunk her.
That Olympic cameo. 😍
That last shot is really beautiful. Olimpic sees her sister Titanic tasting the sea water.
Stunning atmosphere!
I appreciate the continuous hard work you all do!
I dont know why, but this made me cry a little :/
Especially seeing the Olympic waiting for her sister
It's tragic how such a beautiful and majestic ship would meet a gruesome and violent end.
Excellent animation!
..Hello Jared. .how're you?...I'm a subscriber to your channel...I love your contents... . 🙂
I love your 3D breakdown though I was surprised you didn't mention the 2nd Class elevator. I'd love to see cutaways like yours describing the big 1st/2nd class galley and how it served other dining facilities above and below it.
I like your videos and animations
Amazing work! I love the animation of the hydraulic launching pistons. The cameo by the Renault Type CB Coupé de Ville that would become her only automotive cargo, as well as Olympic at the end were unexpected surprises. Very well done!
This is so cool. I’d definitely keep this and maybe incorporate it as a cutscene in the final game. It’s too good not to use again, in my opinion.
Agreed.
Olympic is all time favorite so thank you for showing her some love.
112, 112 years so nice the birth of what may be the world's most famous ocean liner, truly a legend then and still one today
Happy birthday, Titanic
Beautiful! Great job everyone who has worked on this 🙌🏼
Nice work on the Arrol gantry.
+10 for the Olympic cameo!
This is beautiful
Beautiful renditions of Titanic's launch and R.M.S. Olympic
This is absolutely stunning! When Olympic was shown….WOW!!! My eyes are leaky! So amazing! I’m planning a trip to Belfast for the Titanic experience. A must do trip!
Beautiful work. I'm trying not to get too far ahead of myself but it makes me imagine what a full cinematic story game based in THG would look like. Maybe one day
That was the plan originally. Unfortunately I don't think we're getting that anymore
The Olympic's inclusion at the end = perfection!
Featuring the Olympic at the end was a beautiful touch to that.
Well done.
my heart! , the way Olympic is there is as if she's saying "welcome to the world my little sister" , it's a beautiful moment of history
I wish the Olympic would have been saved as a floating museum. Would have been nice to have her sister to explore.
The shot with the Olympic at the end is such a nice touch!
Quite emotional seeing Olympic watch Titanic's launch in the back, then years later being the only surviving Olympic Liner out of the three.
You guys have managed to catch the enormity and realism of this beautiful ship. I almost forgot it was an animation for a second there.
It's amazing that the technology exists now for amateurs to create these kinds of animations of historical events.
I'll admit: I wasn't expecting this. Now I really regret missing her birthday. I suppose this is as close as any of us is going to get to seeing her launch footage. Brilliant job once again lads.
So moving! Final shot revealing the Olympic, it’s amazing! All very well done!❤
Yes, they have an artist's touch with all their videos. And the music is as gorgeous as the visuals.
I have always tried to live by the mantra "quality over quantity," and while I know that it's not always possible or desirable to fixate on the quality of a project to the detriment of its completion, this reconstruction of the Titanic from the ground up is proof that doing things right is absolutely worth it.
I sincerely hope that this project will inspire future filmmakers to create stories that take place in the often-overlooked sections of the Titanic. Imagine if James Cameron had access to this project back when he was planning his monumental film. We could have gotten a completely different story. Maybe a crew member falls in love with a first-class passenger, and we get to see the Turkish Baths and the gymnasium and the ladder to the top of the funnel.
can you believe that white star line went from their largest ship being 24,000 tons to 45,000 tons within a decade. Amazing.
Beautiful! Many thanks. It was fun to see Olympic at the end.
Amazing. I would love to eventually see a simulation dedicated to RMS Olympic and HMHS Britannic, especially if one could follow them through their full careers. All 3 Olympic class ships have fascinating histories.
They have a whole game on steam about Britannic. It’s called “Britannic: Patroness of the Mediterranean”. There’s also a voiced real-time sinking on this channel
@@sirboomsalot4902 Thanks, I'll check that out!
This is just.. wow, beautiful. The final shot of Olympic was the icing on the cake, absolutely amazing!
What a phenomenal animation! Graphics, sound, content, everything so perfect! Had no idea I could start my day sipping coffee watching the launch of RMS Titanic… and that final shot with her sister overseeing it all… goosebumps!☺️👍😃
*This game will be by far the most important one I will ever experience*
Beautifully done. It’s looks as though the TV news media of today traveled back to 1911 to capture the launch on video. I’ve always wondered what the launch looked like, and now I know.
Is this the new exterior model? If so, amazing how quick you've done it considering last I saw it was still on tank top (which to be fair is probably the hard part). A great way and time to show it off.
It's nice to see Olympic from time to time, don't recall such a prominent appearance In THG media.
To be honest, nice to see 1912 Belfast outside of Demo 3.
It's the old exterior model. The new one still has a very long way to go.
I love how you gave the RMS Olympic time to the screen
This is ship was absolutely phenomenal.
Incredible video guys, it was like actually being there all those years ago. And that final shot as Olympic is revealed waiting for her departure to Liverpool gave me goosebumps.
Beautiful video! Especially with the Olympic at the dock waiting to be boarded.
That scene with the Olympic at the end is just incredible.
Without Olympic, there would never have been Titanic. Without Titanic, Olympic may never have been remembered today.
Keep going, guys. Take as long as you need for the game and can't wait to play it. I actually thought having a Titanic game where you can explore the entire ship would be cool as a kid and now that gets to be a reality.
I’m not crying just got something in my eye.
🔥 great job and that scene with Olympic 🔥
Really amazing reimagining this historic launch.
Beyond brilliant! I tried listening to it with no sound and instead playing period ragtime music - very effective.
As the smart ship grew
In stature, grace, and hue
In shadowy silent distance
Grew the iceberg too
Absolutly STUNNING simulation. Def captures the size & scale of this beautiful monster!
Beautiful video. Really love the pan out at the end showing the finished design of the Olympic, Looking on as her sister ship is finally launched. Just a shame it would be 1 of the only times they would ever meet together.
..I think there's another photograph of them docking side by side in March, 1912....Maybe it was taken during the coal loading...If you Google image 'Titanic & Olympic in one frame'. .you may see that photo... .
There were many chains hanging from the ship to slow it down enough to stay in the channel. An anchor was also ready to be lowered and several tugs were there to help out.
What a beautiful ship! I wish her all the best for her maiden voyage! Full speed ahead at all times!
This was absolutely beautiful. That shot with the two sisters standing close for the very first time was majestic. It's honestly kinda sad knowing that Titanic would sink in just a few days later and Olympic had known about it after receiving distress calls.
..Not a "few days" later. .but just over a year later...Event of this animation dates back to March 31st, 1911...And she was foundered on April 15th, 1912... .
@@A.Netizen.Since.2010Titanic was launched May 31st, 1911
I don't know why but this seems to illustrate her sheer size like nothing I've seen before, phenomenal.
Absolutely incredible! Thank you guys for allowing the masses to see this!
The attention to detail in this video is impressive.
I've seen pictures of the launch more times than I care to mention, but I never noticed that Titanic was launched without her funnels.
Thinking about it now, it makes sense as to why, but like I said, I never noticed it before.
Slowly bringing her older sister into view was just a beautiful end
Amazing. Breathtaking. I guess for now we'll have to settle for hearing about it on the wireless, what with it currently being 1911 and all. I hope someday they invent televion and home computers so we can actually see it in our own living rooms. As if almost being there in person. I bet that ship will last forever. It truly is the ship of dreams!
This is amazing
Stunning! This really conjures up the amazing atmosphere and the spectacle of seeing these majestic ships being launched.
You guys just keep doing more and more amazing work. Everything you release just keeps getting more amazing then the last one you released. You must know that there are so many of us out there that want to keep cheering you on and so thankful for all the incredible work that the THG team continues to produce. Congratulations and keep up the great work.
Beautifully done and especially poignant with the elegiac cello music, in view of the upcoming disastrous maiden voyage with so many deaths. Not just the death of so many excited optimistic people but the death of a dream and the delusion arising from their optimism.
Loved it. Hope you guys make more animations like this. Maybe of Titanic's sea trials?
i live in Belfast and i am big into TITANIC i must say this just looks like the Belfast harbour that i see everyday cant wait till this little bit of history is released
Watching the video and travel to time to that moment...so peaceful amd wonderful!🙌🏼✨
You have to wonder how ANYONE could not find these video's, and your work, magnificent. These should be shown in schools for children to learn from. It also reminds me a lot of a good documentary from some years ago, which frustrated me immensely when they showed the launch with her in her final configuration (with the glassed-in A-Deck promenade, and the aft B-Deck alterations). You, however, got it RIGHT, and I am grateful for that.
I hope you know how we all support you, and appreciate your outstanding work. And I'll echo everybody else in hailing the beautiful shots at the end with the OLYMPIC.
Whenever this comes out, you can rest assured that I will be purchasing it at the first opportunity, WHATEVER the price is.
The fact that they got the C-Deck portholes layout too
Your team continues to outdo themselves every single time!
Just wow
That was so pretty and well done. Loved Titanic and still do 112 years later and such great stuff has been seen lately😢.
It's like a child finally being born into the world.
