The canal near me used to have a lot of fish, (even had Gudgeon). I remember one Autumn session on bread punch & caster catching over 20lb of quality Roach to 2½lb. Sadly pollution killed off most of the fish and the bullrushes where they lived.
Hi John, I was only talking to another angler about this yesterday, I haven't caught a gudgeon from the canal for a number of years, and yet at one time, it was full of them. Tight lines for your next trip out , and thanks for taking the time to comment 😀
