I actually think the difficulty of previous sims games were why we remember them as more fun. :) Back then, you actually had to work pretty hard to get anywhere. Generational challenges made sense, because a sim didn't generate that much wealth in their lifetime, compared to living costs and the price of furniture/build mode. The limitations in build mode gave you a reason to be creative. And relationships were actually difficult to build sometimes. An hour of gameplay wouldn't get you that far, and there was more unexpected and random chaos happening outside your control. You had to actually care for children/toddlers/animals, because they were less self sufficient. In sims 4, you can spend an hour or two, and be a full star celebrity, even if you are barely trying. You gain money super fast, and one sim can easily get to a mansion in their lifetime. The graphics are beautiful, but you always end up building very 'perfect' and 'pretty' things - it gets boring. Same with the sims you make, even if you try to make them obnoxious. Relationships are ridiculously easy, even with opposing personality traits. And there is very little chaos compared to other sims games. Even toddlers are fairly self sufficient on many things. There is just not a lot of purpose in the sims 4. Generational challenges get boring, because you already have a mansion by generation 1, so what is the point?
TS1 was actually my favorite version of celebrities. I don’t remember the specific order of things you had to do at each star level. By it was something along the lines of Karaoke Photo ad Jingle Swimwear or winter wear photos Sing in the song booth Model Act
It basically tells you what you need to do to gain starpower on the sims career tab. Clicking on the info on or around the stars will show a picture of what you need to do next.
That stage were sims would sing is one of my favorite items in the franchise. As they got good they would sing really well and jump on the speakers and stuff. So many cool animations!
I just want to say that I really love your channel. I know you bring up the fact that some commenters bemoan your negativity and wonder how you can possibly like this franchise. But, I don't think your attitude about the game is negative. You make me laugh about the ridiculousness of this series almost every day. I had to show my partner the bit about the tragic clown 🤡 being a specter from Paranormal Activity because that is 100% what it was like to watch it happening. She got a good laugh out of this too. Keep doing you. Some of us see the comedy when others don't.
You need a certain star level to be able to work certain things hahaha. I love the fame system in the Sims one and I even have a series of making Michael Bachelor a celebrity haha
The best part about the oxygen bar, was the second a small fire started, any oxygen bar nearby went up in flames. There's actually a charm in Makin' Magic that will give 4.5 stars apon casting. It does require ingredients, though.
Honestly the celebrity system in the TS1 was HARD! I never achieved the full stars and I am still trying - loving the challenge! (but admit I have had to look up the guides for help). Love that you are playing the older sims, please keep that up, love the chaos Xx
Everything in TS1 is hard. 😂 The best way to do it is get all the skills you need before even signing up so you can focus on making the friends you need.
It is hard! I never got the superstar either. I intend to try again at some point but my Sims are just being lazy now. Using the gargoyle bench for income and just relearning what the game has. Volleyball! Sims 1 works perfectly on my laptop so long as the Mic is off. Game + recording + Mic apparently equals tantrum. Oh well, easier to hear the old game sounds. My voice sucks anyway.
IIrc mastering charisma, body and creativity is the key that can always get you to solid 3 stars. A cheese tactic is that you can always let your sims perform easier tasks (like singing and cover model) that can never fail as long as you have the skills and will still add up to your star level (albeit slower). From 4 stars onwards it is pure RNG, your sims can show up in full green mood and skills and can still perform badly. More over from 3.5 stars and up, bad performance will get you decreased star level, although cheesing will always let you stay at 4 star safely. It was HARD to maintain 5 stars and iirc it even requires you to show up at the star town everyday to keep it, but the pink limousine was such a treat lol
Superstar is really good but you need to know what you're doing. 😅 This is why games used to come with manuals and in-game advice (Lana the studio town guide and the magazine, etc. You also have skill and friend requirements, and the game tells you which items you're qualified to use when you gain a star level.)
You can enter move objects on at the cheat box then delete your sim then click their face and boom all green needs 😁😁😊😊 love your vids btw makes me stress free whenever you upload
This was my favorite pack with TS1 Makin Magic, could play this for so long. Loved that you can do a spell when you are a witch with the obsessed fan black roses that he leaves a your house. The spell would make you a five star celeb. I thought it was fun that it took effort otherwise to be a five star celebrity and keep it up to maintain it. Also Marilyn Monroe randomly shows up in a limousine with paparazzi to give an award at your house.
This definitely brings back memories so much so that now I understand why I’m so concerned with the comfort of objects I buy on the sims 4 like it matters , sofas were definitely life for sims in the beginning lol
Omg 😂😂😂 I feel so bad now.. my sister tried her hardest to keep these sims alive when we had to take turns playing this game and when my turn came I killed them all 😂💀💀
The Sims 1 needs are balanced on the assumption that you’re going to be going to work/school for most of the day, as they decay slower then. Superstar is as hard as it is because not only do you have the high need decay while at work, time won’t have passed while you were out so you’ve instantly tanked your mood for the day. Miss Lucille in Old Town solves everything though, go have your palm read a few times and you’re good to go!
I just remembered: if you want to preventing your Sim from burning the food - and thereby starting a fire, requires that your Sim have at least Level 1 in Cooking. You do this by studying cooking via a bookshelf. But it is generally also a good idea to invest in a fire alarm ;-)
o h m y g o d --- I’m so glad i found your channel!!! Loving it all and you make me laugh so much. And I’m loving this nostalgia trip. My first ever sim game back in 2000 had 8 people and i was so devastated when everything fell apart. I called for my dad crying when they took my children away to military school because of the absolute mess my household was in😭 i still havent recovered fully. However, Sims 4 could never get up to this level.
I never got the superstar status either. I could barely get the obsessed fan! Once I got some black roses I'd drop the fame track and use the price of fame magic charm and it would actually be a promotion! I did love vacation pack tho, I'd just let the game run at the nice hotel lots and come back to my Sims having thousands of tickets for the souvenir booth and sometimes even the special souvenirs from having moods up for a long time.
The Sims was ahead of the curve on twerking. The Sims was released on February 4, 2000. Twerking has its origins in the bounce culture of New Orleans in the late 1980s, the word twerk was added to the Oxford Dictionary Online Twerking was attributed to Cyrus following her appearance at the MTV VMA Awards in August 2013. en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Bounce_music
I don't remember having any issues with needs playing Sims 1, and now that I've played it as an adult, I don't get HOW I was able to play it. I'm not sure if it's the unofficial version or if it was seriously that hard. I was obsessed especially with Superstar.
It was hard. Sims 4 compared to Sims 1 is like kindergarden game. In Sims 1 gameplay itself is unforgiving and requires a lot of tinkering, tries and errors to get right (Like in Superstar career or Making Magic spells). Basic needs alone are very demanding and you need to know how to play in a way you fill the needs at the same time.
U could play The Sims Vacation *o* I think it is an easier gameplay lol… I do remember loving Superstar but always thought it was too hard for me to accomplish the goals and get the star level higher 😖 And YES, we do need a Modeling career in Sims 4!
This video is a crystal clear proof of how gamers went from "Loving the challenge" to "F*ck this im out" after AN HOUR of playing. We are having good memories for these kind of games becuase in our childhood and young adult times there were a lot of game booms - The Sims, Assasins Creed, Diablo, Fallout etc. - that challenged us and gave us a proper reward for trying hard. It was fun and the sense of acomplishment was what we were craving for most of the time. Your chaotic and eager reactions were your downfall in this vid - The Sims 1 is a title of old, where reading carefully was usually the key (no arrows or pointers anywhere) - and despite this games childy/goofy nature, it has sense of reality. As a nobody, you cant come to hollywood and just go to recording studio and sing, you need to get noticed before some recording studio will sign a contract with you. In real life, the free microphone bars were made for this start. Than, in game, you went from free microphone to make commercial photos, from there to making TV commercials, than signing jingles, than swimwear/winterwear photos, than recording scenes for tv shows - AND THAN as a lower celebrity, you could work on singing your own songs, being a model on a catwalk, shooting music videos or acting in a film scenes. Were you frustrated by checking your needs and climbing a fame ladder at the same time? Hold your horses, cause you also need to make friends with celeberities on the way. Imagine trying to make friends with normal people, but they are all assholes with generally bad attitude and being friends with them is a frustrating proccess full of challenges on the way that makes your head trying to burst. AND NOW imagine these people got famous, so their ego is even higher than before. Yes, its really almost THAT impossible to be friends with celebrities in this game. Sims 4 Get Famous could never. And its still possible. But you need to love the challenge. And believe me, being 5 star celebrity in this pack is awesome: 1) Literally the only job you are experiencing with your sim 2) You can get yourself a day off without boss yelling at you 3) You work time is entirelly up to you - you can work hard on your music video all day and earn a lot of money, or you can just make some swimwear photos in the morning and go home for the rest of the day - it will still count as a work day even tho you spent there like 2 hours. You just need to go to Studio Town, use fame object and than you can go home so your fame will not drop 4) Studio Town is very well done even in vanilla, and Im not even starting with the soundtrack jesus christ that music is so vibe and good Get Famous could never Why is Get Famous complete trash and this pack is superior in almost every way: 1) Sims 1 gave us Acting, singing and modeling career as a three main pillars of entertainment industry - Get Famous could never 2) Single music track in Studio Town brings Hollywood vibe ten times more than the whole Get Famous pack imagine 3) Using a top fame objects is actually a minigame, requiring a good portion of luck - using an acting stage in Sims 4 requires good aiming on "X" spots on the screen 4) Wining an artis award in Sims 1 includes another famous person giving you the award with an actuall photographer - every branch has its own award and even tho its at your home, it still feels more immersive than standing on the stage, watching several people trying to sit on the chairs but preffering ground somehow, no photographers anywhere like wtf 5) Sims 1 has Fan Wagon with people making tours, taking photos of your place. Get Famous gave us random strangers in same outfits appearing from nowhere - how lazy of a f*cker you must be if you dont bother modeling Fan Wagon for those people? I cant even imagine how many freakin 40 bucks packs it would include to achieve the same things in Sims 4 - there would be even a bundle for different clothes that Christina Aguilera can wear I swear to god...

You could either do karaoke or stand-up depending on if you're better at creativity or charisma
The plastic sofa was in everyone of my houses in sims 1 😂

Andy Warhol was born in 1928 and died in 1987 lol.

I love that you're playing one of the older Sims games for a change 😍😍 TS1 gives me major nostalgia :D

I got it once and married another 5 star after that and was so proud. And the paparazzi at home were amazing

Yes, I made my witch a 5 star celebrity in the sims 1. It was so much fun
Awwww Satch, I‘d love to be your friend immediately IRL. I just love and enjoy your personality so so much!!
I had a scary ass dream so im watching this to feel better 😌

I feel so bad now.. my sister tried her hardest to keep these sims alive when we had to take turns playing this game and when my turn came I killed them all 😂💀💀
I remember a mod called the rejuvenation chamber which looked like that steam chamber thingy - absolute game changer, I had one on every lot!
Stan satchonsims, and imagine shanice in sims 1

not you asking if Warhol died in victorian times XDDD
It's kinda funny how the old sims EP has so many content than the sims4 EP nowaday
sims 1 superstar was the best "celebrities" game.
Andy Warhol, Drew Carrey, Bon Jovi, Avril Lavigne... It's just so funny.
I miss this game for the main reason that you aojld see random celeb sims,
and can we talk about the way the half walls worked.
Could you please make a video on how to download the sims 1? I have been wanting to play it for such a long time :( to bring back memories
TS1 is really quite difficult. Superstar made it quite challenging to become a star
I am loving this game play of The Sims 🙂👍
I've only just got it so you're teaching me.
I don't remember having any issues with needs playing Sims 1, and now that I've played it as an adult, I don't get HOW I was able to play it. I'm not sure if it's the unofficial version or if it was seriously that hard. I was obsessed especially with Superstar.

OMG I loved sims
I loved super star I use to get so many awards
You calling Andy Warhol a "little bitch" is iconic
tragic clown shows up with the painting.

Why is Get Famous complete trash and this pack is superior in almost every way:
1) Sims 1 gave us Acting, singing and modeling career as a three main pillars of entertainment industry - Get Famous could never
2) Single music track in Studio Town brings Hollywood vibe ten times more than the whole Get Famous pack imagine
3) Using a top fame objects is actually a minigame, requiring a good portion of luck - using an acting stage in Sims 4 requires good aiming on "X" spots on the screen

I tried a couple of years ago and it was so easy. It only took me like a week to be a 5 star
I want to play this game so badly!!!!
To get your hunger need to stay up longer you need to learn the cooking skill.
Hey
If you burn the tragic clown painting the tragic clown will burn to death
I'd play this so I can finally meet Avril Lavigne
GOT A FIX FOR YA SIMS NEEDS. i cant find it but there' a mod which is a clown bar and it fills ur sims needs.
motives cheat and burn the painting or just sell it.
HAHAHAHAHAHA this is hilarious XDDD
