Even as an American, this still gives me chills 6 years later. No other country loves a sport as much as Canada loves hockey.
You could say Americans with football
I love to watch Canada and USA go at it in hockey, one of the best match ups ever no doubt. Such passion play.
Hockey invented Canada :)
Soccer in Europe.
you should have seen Brazil winning their gold medal match in football
I will never EVER forget this day! Every Canadian had this game on and our whole country was screaming!!!! ❤
I was screaming too :p it was a good day also for me! Congrats from Italy!!
+Remember that you'll die Same for 2014 ! I remember watching it at my school ! We were like 200 people watching it, both men and women ! Canada is just the best country for Hockey !

im so happy canada won in sochi but there will never be another vancouver games again. those olympics were perfect 14 golds on home soil ending with a gold medal win hockey in dramatic fashion of course in ot.
All winter olympics should be in canada somewhere
it would be sweet but i think we should defiently get more games more often. word has it nhl isnt going to let their players go to s.korea :(
Are you fucking kidding me???!!!! :(
Shreks Swamp fortunately i heard only spec. i heard it on coachs corner and a couple of other places but for now its only rumor!
when Crosby says “iggyyyyy” before he passes it that just gives me chills.
Can’t believe this was 12 years ago. Still gives me chills in 2022.
Will always
And the quality is awesome
did united states send their best team. ? ? they're hardly making any efforts here
i remember as soon as we won, my friends and i ran out to the streets screaming with joy and the whole neighbourhood came out screaming too, you could hear it all the way down the street, everyone was so happy.
Bob Marley I love you bob Marley :)
Where in Canada were you when this happened? Sounds like an amazing moment to be a part of!

That play looks amazing when you think it was a trailer pass. When you realize the first pass got intercepted and the def literally did the first thing you learn not to do in hockey, never EVER do a blind pass in front of your own net, you just laugh at how justice was served for the irresponsible check upon Perry after the bell at the end of the 1st period.

Iggy to Crosby ferda gold
Y'all Alive ?
Its crazy how stacked both of these teams were at the time; every single player on the ice created their own legacy in one way or another in the big leagues, this truly was a clash of the greatest vs the greatest and it delivered 100 fold
Hard to believe this was a decade ago. I wasn't even a decade old myself when this happened
I was about 10 years old (19 almost 20 now) but I didn't even know hockey was a sport honestly. Never seen a game in my life til about 17 on TV.
It was mad respect when the Canadian fans gave Ryan Miller a big cheer at the medal ceremony. One of the greatest hockey games I have ever witnessed.
The fact that Canuck and American fans can stand side by side is really astonishing.
It's a testament to a true friendship.

Iginla's pass is incredably underrated
Truth
He made a perfect blind backhand pass as he was going down, with two guys on him....
Without Iggy, Sid wouldn’t have been free to snipe ‘er in five hole.
@@JesusFriedChrist i mean Sid did bring it in the zone and put Iggy in that position to make the pass both made the play happen in the end
Crosby gave it to Iginla, because he knew...Chemistry.
Loungo's point blank save at the beginning of the rush is the most underrated save.
Anyone in 2019 this pure gold i havent been back home in so long i miss the cold the people the games i miss the hockey the goddamn team connection i miss how my entire town was cheering and it couldve been heard through the entire street
Still gives me chills to this day
If you're really asking this question, you're probably not Canadian. And you should already know why it still gives us chill even to this day. It will gives us chill forever, actually.
MrTipss Explain to me, how does one become more Canadian than another?
MrTipss Excellent grammar there. Really eye-opening.
I really don't have the time nor the patience to argue with some troll online. There's literally no way you can prove where I'm from. If you were indeed Canadian, you wouldn't be trying to prove that you're better than someone else.
***** sounds like someone is a butthurt American
IGGGYYYYYYYYYYYYY!! Listen and you will hear Crosby scream it.

I never knew that was Crosby 😳
I remember watching this with my mom when I was 18, she's since passed away but this is one of my favorite memories I had with her.
Awe. I am a mom of one, a son. I am so sorry for your loss. I taught him to skate, together we grew to love hockey. He taught me parts of my soul I didnt know I had. Children come to teach you. I swear. Much love on your path,
Crosby was still "Sid the Kid" here at 22, can't believe he will be turning 29 in a week now time flies.
holy shit I didnt even realize that
wow holy shit ur right lmao, Can u imagine some of the kids right now or in two years Mcdavid doing this? Time flies wow
Kyle Broflovski McDavid will be 29 in the year 2026 lol, but I'm sure it will come faster than we expect.
David Huynh Crosby will play well into his late 30's, he's got another 9-10 seasons.

greatest hockey game ever, ill never forget where i was when he scored
I was a buying chips.
I was too stressed out and was pacing outside :(
I was there!!! Most excitement out of any hockey game I've gone to.
Nothing can compare with Henderson's goal against the Soviets.
I was nursing a hangover watching this......I cured it for sure afterwards 🍺
Hats off to the Canadians for this game--there is no other team to whom I would rather have seen the US team lose the gold medal, especially in Vancouver, than Canada. After all, it was the Canadians who invented the sport! Congratulations--you DESERVED that gold medal.
+Daniel Pippenger i invite you to come out for a rip bud!
+Daniel Pippenger technically we didn't invent it, we just made it better :p . lol
(totally joking) But thanks
I'm glad to hear you say that--after all, the NHL has teams from both Canada and the United States.
Ice hockey was invented in Scotland
Not according to WikiPedia--the article says that it was first played in 19th century Canada, not Scotland.
Not only is this the entire game uncut, but it has no commentary! Amazing!
10 years later, and i still remember every detail while being there to witness sid’s goal
JoeySpogs Where were you when he scored ;) I was sitting in a diner with my family the whole restaurant exploded all the waitresses and cooks in the back were celebrating some were crying. Long live Canada. Vive le Canada
With Iggy’s assist, don’t forget eh. A blind backhand pass while he was going down, with two guys on him. Perfect pass that made it all happen.
@@backwoodsvlogs5784 Trudeau killed Canada. Sold it off the China and India.
I'm from the US and while I was working during the game, I had a customer come in wearing a Canada jersey. She told me of the game, and she was rooting for her home team. Our American team put up a good fight but hockey is truly your game, Canada. Congrats on your win!

There will never be another hockey game as great as this. Ever. And as sad as I am (Still four years later) that America lost I will never forget this game. This is the game I will sit down and show my kids when they are old enough to understand it.
And as much as I hate to admit it, I wish American hockey fans were as passionate about this game as the Canadian ones were. They are hockey
You obviously did not watch the Miracle on Ice Game.
It's 2021 and I'm still reminiscing about that extremely special day. I won't ever forget it!! Our entire country exploded and roared!! INCREDIBLE AND EPIC!!!
what an emotional roller-coaster ride for Roberto Luongo; the ultimate high of a gold medal win to a devastating Game 7 Stanley Cup loss a year later in the same building.
That's why the Canucks are cursed. They can win the Olympics but not the cup
Sidney Crosby, a living legend...
***** Lol, lets wait until McDavid plays in the NHL first and gets drafted before putting him above Crosby who has won everything there is to win already.
@@fdannn6926 ahahahahaha. It's really funny to read this now. Of course he is a good player, but just check stats of Crosby and Ovechkin at they firts 4 seasons. And the mostly sad for his fans he will play in Oilers for 10 years. Lol
Jerome Iginla, a living legend.
F Dannn this kinda aged well in a way. He’s now probably the best player in the entire league
Even though this happened 4 years ago, it was nice to see all the American families come up and watch the games :). It was a fair game, good game USA! Go Canada Go!
Always greatly appreciated when North Americans can talk civil about such a heated game. Both games in 2010 really showed how both teams are talented, passionate, and hard working. Now it's time to keep the Gold in our side of the World! Good Luck Canada! GO USA!!!
Damn, we still lived in a high-rise apartment back in 2010. I remember hearing the ENTIRE neighbourhood scream as soon as Canada won. I ran out to the balcony and it was like a freaking assault of horns and yells and shouts - the works! It's as if I heard the whole country rejoicing while I stood up there and I got extreme chills.
As a 10 year old who was watching this with strep throat, I never screamed harder than when we scored that goal, and I had to be taken to the hospital right after but so worth it lmao
As an American, I find this to be one of the most satisfying hockey games I've ever seen team USA play, despite the outcome. There was so much grit and heart by both teams that it just made for a real fun game.
Loved how the entire stadium sang the anthem at the end, love our country and it's people, so patriotic! Go Canada Go!
Love how Kesler got cheers at the end. He was playing for the Vancouver Canucks at the time, so we have a lot of love for him no matter what team he was on.
I've watched this game many times and it still brings tears to my eyes when Canada wins.
The Winter Olympics are so much better than the summer games.

This was probably one of the best hockey games of any level ever. I miss NHL players in the Olympics.
Oh GLORY DAYS! Such an EPIC win...I remember this like it was yesterday. Go Canada! Bring home another gold in our sport at Sochi!
When ever my depression hits hard, I always turn to this game, and it cures every sadness I had. Gives me back my biggest smile and I feel the surge of proudness to be Canadian, every time I watch this.
saffaira depressions tough, keep fighting!
As a Canadian, I watched our Canadian Olympic Team experience so many moments of joy, pride and sorrow. The "Golden Goal" was definitely the highlight of what were stupendous games in Vancouver. Our true Canadian pride was on full display throughout these games and has never been diminished since. Best Winter Olympics ever!!!!!
BTW, I love that this game is on CZcams with no commentary. Absolutely pure for a fan to watch, without being biased by any form of commentary.

Nothing is more uniting in this wonderful country of Canada than a victory of this magnitude that solidifies our pride in our national game of ice hockey. We gave the world a game of speed, finesse, punishing body checks and a whole lot more. I am 72 and have witnessed many international hockey games and Canada is the true nation of champions. This game was a demonstration of how great this sport is when it is played by two great teams such as what was witnessed in the 2010 Olympics.
Thanks for your comment. I wasn't quite a teenager during this game - I was with my mom and she was one of leaders at a Canadian military boarding school. I'll still remember the night when everyone in the boarding house was permitted to stay up late to watch the game and the reaction around me when Crosby scored. Truly unforgettable. It went from extremely tense and dead silent to all of us hugging and screaming with joy. Its been over a decade but I can still remember the pride, excitement, and warmth of that moment. One of the most profoundly happy experiences of my life. Over a decade later and now I can't wait to tell my kids about what it was like to witness Crosby scoring the golden goal!!
Who is watching this because NHL dont go in 2018
Was there an Olympics in 2018? ….. no NHL, no interest.....
Brian Peace yes there was
NHL are a brunch of greedy owners. Screw em.

Vancouver Olympics was way better than Sochi. It was too quiet and quite frankly boring and the most entertaining game i watched was when Canada beat Latvia. Latvia was the only team that really gave Canada a challenge. I miss the 2010 Olympics and I'd give anything to relive that year!
You forgot Finland in OT. Also, Canada absolutely dominated Latvia. The score wouldn't have been that close if their goaltender didn't stood on his head.

That was one of the greatest team Canada!!! It sad to see how many of them have retired or slow down. Every thing has a time... love Canada and always will...
What a game! I still remember watching it live! I remember that the entire 401 in Toronto was empty. Not a single car on the highway, with everybody glued to their television sets to watch this epic game.
What a match up against our favourite neighbour, the USA. They had grit, and arguably better goaltending. We were full of superstars. I was genuinely concerned that Ryan Miller would steal this game for the USA.
How fitting that Crosby should be the one to get the winning goal. Everything that guy touches turns to gold.
What a stirring anthem, I will never forget that! Congratulations Canada!
What a game. USA played amazingly. They were a solid threat even in the same minute Canada scored the winner. This game is legendary because it was so close. For fun, check around 2hr6second mark where it looks like PM Harper is getting an autograph from The Great One.

@@hypn0298 Id like to think so, but will there even be NHL players at the 2022 Winter Olympics this time around? If anything like 2018, there won't be, unfortunately.
Thx for this upload. Funny thing is, I never enjoyed what a fantastic, hard hitting, fast paced game this was when I watched it live because there was too much tension. And when Parise scored late, things took a serious emotional downturn. That, of course, made the OT even more tense.
This time around, watching in 2023, I could just appreciate what high level, incredible hockey these two teams put on. One of the best games ever played. The US really came to play. I appreciate their skill and efforts in this final.

Jiltedin2007 It's a shame that they had a riot. But as a Canadian, it didn't spoil anything for me. I'm still proud!
+icuhater numberone That's very great of you to say that. Either you don't like Vancouver or you just don't care about the city. But they won, within minutes the streets were flooded with people, Dundas square was insane, news helicopters above shining lights down, cops playing street hockey with people, beer bottles lined the curbs. What an amazing night.
