Garrett, my wife and I love the fact you have your pup out there with you. Take it from the parents of a little fur baby Yorkie, get him a harness! Much better for his trachea and breathing. Don't know if his mix of breed is susceptible to collapsed trachea, but you'll be doing him a huge favor getting him off the standard collar leash. Hang in there with the swing changes, they'll take hold soon enough!
Looks like there is some Pom in that adorable dog, and as stated they do have trachea issues. Regardless for small dogs, chest harness *always*, never a collar. Great golf content, but even greater editing with action puppy shots. Have to keep this away from the wife, she wants a third fur-by....

Even at 74 I could recall almost every shot I hit as I watched you guys play ( much better than I did ). I know I felt the same distractions from the game that the beauty of that place exudes.
