30 odd years ago I used to make football jersey earings with this stuff. It's on a whole 'nother level now.
I'm inspired to create some polymer wraps to put around my metal crochet hooks.

I took a few chunks of different colors of the polymer clay, cut out some small shapes then put them between 3 layers of transparent clay (I use transparent clay on holiday dioramas I make that need special lighting), I wrapped the clay around the handle of my favorite scalpel I use for crafting. I mean a scalpel, not an X-acto. Scalpel blades slide on and then lock in place no jigs to worry about opening like on an X-acto.
Once it was wrapped around I put it in my dominant hand, holding it like I would when using it, then gave it a good squeeze. After getting good impressions on it, I baked it leaving the scalpel inside. When it cooled I slid a blade into it and now I have an ergonomic scalpel! My Hubs loved mine so much, but he couldn't use it as it was made for me, I made him a set as well. I've used the clay on my crochet Hooks, it's a lot cheaper than the ergo hooks they have now, and I've put it on my desk pens including on one beloved fountain pen. I use it even more now as it doesn't slip through my hand.
