Ken, as always great Spotlight on this material really enjoyed this! Here's a few of my favorite vocal intros that really blow me away and evoked a lot of emotion to me growing up and lucky to be a young person in the Golden Era (56 now). I thought of these because of your theme of great intros but some of them actually peaked out in the middle of the song like with the first one on my list which boy if you could do a tutorial on hitting Chuck Negron's high note and the way he held it and actually sustaining it I would fall over even Chuck couldn't hold that note when performing live for except maybe the first several months on tour sadly anyway here's a quick list off the top of my head that when I was young made me think how great it would be to be a singer and sing like this and not just hitting that note but the fullness and dramatic emotional effect these guys were able to convey as well really to this day mesmerizes me and by the way your cover of Coverdale's mistreated I liked every bit as much as his original and I was like "oh please do the whole song now" you killed that and owned it and that is a very difficult song to sing in that particular style and pull it off and you owned it like it was a walk through the park for you...just supurb!

I can't quit you by Zeppelin/Plant (studio version but some early 69' versions on bootlegs are insane...
Oh Sherry: Steve Perry. When it first came out I didn't like it and thought the song was too commercial and he "sold out" and his voice was suffering...but in hindsight I absolutely love it because even though it was not the 1979 Perry voice it actually fit the feeling of the song with the little bit of raspiness in it and it's perfect to me now and just so emotionally riveting but sweet at the same time.
Searching for so long (Chicago): Cetera at his finest showcasing how he can go from singing lower notes to high notes in literally a couple bars and so dramatic and emotional while playing bass at the same time holy crap! Great list, vocals, back stories and shirt changes! All those vocals transport you to a time in your life, if you're old enough, but the most soul stirring would have to be "Stairway to Heaven". It just stops time. Have a great day!
I'm always surprised by how good that song is. Especially when I haven't heard it for awhile. It stands the test of time.
Excellent top 10. I didn't know the Eagles song but that's okay. I love these and hope you can do more of these. I learned a lot from this. Also, Bohemian Rhapsody hands down number one forever no song will ever surpass it. Don't even get me started because it's the greatest song ever written, sung, produced, and everything else.

Immigrant song for me. I remember being a small kid and taking my father's tape of Led Zeppelin in secrecy, putting it to the cassette player and playing for the first time in my life. Immigrant Song was the first song and I got so terrified of the intro I immediately turned it off and returned the cassette! No song has ever made such an impact on me 😁 Love it and the band ever since I stopped being scared to listen to it 😂
