I’ll just assume that this was an Inquisitor with a bad case of radicalism, that they would utilize an entire forces of daemons to fight off a warp attuned Xenos faction and a Xenos loving civilization that traded with them

I like to think of this as a warp-tainted Inquisitor who's gone off the deep end and started intentionally causing Daemonic incursions and an Imperial Guard garrison trying to hold out with the Eldar helping because he'll probably fuck up a Craftworld or something.
