The Somersault is a versatile modulation device that allows everything from classic 80s chorus and wavering vibrato to bleeps and pitchy pulses. The secret to this wide range of sounds is the powerful, interactive controls that Caroline have provided. Top left is a Mix that goes from dry to 100% wet, for vibrato, rotary and damaged tape effects. Next is the Offset, which controls the delay time of the modulated signal. This powerful control, in conjunction with the Depth, allows for a wetter sounding chorus with hints of slapback as well as extreme pitch bending that goes beyond any traditional chorus pedal. The triangle wave is where are the classic modulation lives but roll over into the square wave and everything is chopped into rhythmic pulses, with random pitches and blips jumping out in time. The momentary Havoc footswitch warps you to maximum speed on any sound you’ve dialed in, whether it's a subtle Leslie sound or mechanical hiccup. Finally, the tasteful tone switch puts a Lo-Fi spin on the pedal, adding a vintage voice to the chorus but also taking more extreme settings down a notch. The Caroline Somersault is designed and made in Columbia, South Carolina by folks who just want to make cool stuff!

This is why you're the best demo'er of pedals, full stop. Great work Andy!
Not sure what that intro song was but it’s the most 90’s thing I’ve ever heard. 😍
wgb01001 Heretic by Soundgarden🤘
I can’t believe there’s a Soundgarden song I’d never heard. 🤯🤯🤯
@@AndyDemos It's been a long time since I've heard that song but I swear you made it sound better than Soundgarden did.
@@wgb01001 one of their 1st songs ever.
wgb01001 it was on the Pump Up The Volume soundtrack
I really enjoy all Caroline Guitar Co's pedal line up. This sounds just as great as any of them. They do fantastic work. This is definitely a must have for me.
I'm not a fuzz fan. But I snagged a limited edition American Pizza for funsies and I guess I like fuzz now. It's incredible.
These invisible picks of yours sound incredible
Dude. That string nut bend, holy frick. Classy man. That was perfect.
That thing sounds wild man! Really cool. Great stuff Andy. Thanks!
Philippe & co knocked this one out of the park! One of their best.
Ryan hurley I agree, it’s a really unique offering of “wetter” chorus and even the crazier side can be applied to any style of music👍🏻
Yeah this demo officially sold me on this. That square wave offset is just brilliant.
Another Gem demo. Thank You Andy. This is one of the best pedals for what I am trying to do that I have come across ever. Chorus is a huge part of my rig for texture in both clean and heavily distorted settings, from riffs to chord progression to leads. A+++.
The Caroline Meteore is one of my favorite pedals! NOW, I must have this one... thank you Andy!
Nice play andy! Really enjoyed!
Nice. Finally a pedal that sounds like “Born Under Punches”.
Soundgarden’s Heretic FTW! 🤘🏻🤘🏻
Awesome! You put your 1.3 in it!
Holy Crap chills man⚡️⚡️💪
That intro alone sold me on this.
This is so RUSH! Love it
I thought the exact same thing.
finally, a proper demo
Love the intro song. 🔥
Andy just fuckin' slayyyyyed "Heretic"! Kim Thayil, you watchin' this, brough?
Holy crap this is my tone. The opening tone is perfect. I'm getting something similar with a Keeley 30ms
That intro ruled.
Heretic made my day so much better
Bruno Pacheko Thanks, glad to hear that🤘
The tone and playing dynamics were on point for that one, sounds as heavy as if it was recorded for Badmotorfinger.
The pedal is sweet, but that Luminous Stroker Ace with the spalted top is killer. :-)
Excellent video.
Ever since Andy allowed his hair to become what it is, hes become very expressive when playing. Those facial expressions and hand gestures after a big chord are hilarious.
radical
New Caroline!
New axe!!
New channel, what!!!
Hes a busy guy Reverb and a newish andydemos channel on youtube. Tell everyone
The opening Soundgarden riff and @7:25 sold me on this pedal
1st and last tunes were killer .you need to do an album with all the Andy gems from the last 12 years, just sayin🤗🤗
Who plays the other instruments on these demos?
To play Heretic for a mod pedal demo.....be still my heart. Yer the best, bud! Stop selling me pedals!!! 😂
Hi, Andy. I love your demo. Are you still with Reverb? I think your own demos sound better. I like my Caroline Pizza and want to get others of theirs and this sounds like a winner. I hope you are doing well.
Chris Nagy Hey Chris, yes I am and just FYI I record the demos the same way. I started this channel last year to explore some other avenues and topics in addition to Reverb 👍🏻 Thanks!
@@AndyDemos Thanks, Andy. I guess it's the additional backing track that your Reverb demos lack. And the point is I guess with Reverb you are trying to accentuate the pedal specifically and while Andy's demos show how they sound in a group or band setting. Close? Hope I'm not being offensive. In any case, you always sound terrific.
@@chrisnagy1429 It's all good, I try to include many backing tracks for Reverb too but they don't always call for them. Thanks Chris!
Omg what is that first guitar with the spalted or whatever top!? Beautiful! Another work of art from Andy's dad?
Hey, that was a guitar I borrowed from a luthier friend here in Portland, Luminous Guitars! I believe it is spalted maple, called the Stroker Ace model. Thanks!
Man, you just have the best demos. It's good to hear a REAL musician demo pedals, not a noodler.
Dead-on Diver Down tone at the beginning
Were you using the chorus before or after distortion for the Soundgarden demo?
0:20 Overdrive before chorus in this example. Thanks!
What is that spalted guitar at the beginning
It's a Stroker Ace by Luminous Guitars! I borrowed it for a bit, since we're both in Portland. Excellent hand-built guitars! reverb.com/shop/luminousguitars
What was the first song with the behind-the-nut dive bombs? Was that original?
Heretic, Soundgarden
Toby Carroll Thanks!
Although that was a Soundgarden original. behind the nut bends have been around for decades. Before the dawn of the Locking Nut, this is how it was done from Jimmy Page to Country Western Slingers. Check out John5 and his Telecaster Psycho Chicken Pickin'.
What's the song at 5:29? Do I recognize it, or is it another Andy original?
Bump. I recognize it too but I can’t put my finger on it.
What is the first track?
Intro song?
It rings a bell. Soundgarden riff maybe?
Edit: yup, Heretic by Soundgarden
Heretic by Soundgarden
Analog or digital?
Oh shit I must have this pedal.Caroline makes some of our best pedals for sure.If you haven't tried the Blues pedals by Caroline it's a must.
Is very similar to the EHX memory boy, but more expensive...
I thought Slash was the last of the guitar heros. Then came Andy.
