- When Brauno and Onomatopoeia are playtesting their decks, their friend Hercules shows up with a deck of his own-a netdeck of the winner of the last Shonen Jump. Brauno is pressured into dueling him with her Fortune Ladies.

This is actually the thing that first taught me about what the damage step was and it’s been a huge help ever since. The rule books back then weren’t exactly...helpful

I love rewatching these 😂 my brother and I loved these videos when we were kids. I miss when the game was simple like this. It’s a whole new world now and my brain can’t process most of it.

I think one of the best aspects of this series, are the expertly filmed establishment and background shots, these are so precisely planned to not only fit the models on screen but also when they come on, its honestly inspiring

The only time kaiba beat yugi was when he threatened to kill himself if yugi didn't surrender... not sure that would work if you used it on Onomatpeia.

"Drill Warrior: "Drill Warrior" is Special Summoned during the Standby Phase, and afterwards you add a card to your hand. The two are not treated as resolving simultaneously. Thus, "Bottomless Trap Hole" cannot be activated; you miss the timing
Sometimes an optional effect can only be activated when a condition happens. In this case, you are only allowed to activate the effect when the activation condition being met was the last thing to happen in the game. (complicate rules o.o)

i have to admit even tho this series is about talking tpys playing yugioh it is by far one of the best yugioh series/parodies i have ever watch keep'em commin.

It's true, actually. Unless otherwise stated, cards cannot be activated during the damage step unless they affect a card's Stats.
The effect to add a monster to his hand happens one sentence after the one that special summons Drill Warrior. Therefore, they aren't happening at the same time and because the effect has to fully resolve when it's summoned, bottomless trap hole cannot activate in response to Drill's effect. That, and you can never "chain" to a summoning of a monster, just the effect that does the summoning. Bottomless should have been set the first turn to prevent it from even getting that far.

@krakat0a8 Well any of the synchron specific warriors could be used in a quickdraw deck. In that specific example, he purposely synch for a level six so that one token would protect him from a direct attack. Also since dandylion is limited now (might still be semi limited during that time) it would be wise to recycle dandylion. So nitro warrior is still good, but it is just a difference in opinion or strategy so he just didn't use it.

@TheNecrodius I always thought it said "You can add...". Maybe it's the old version I have IRL that they eratta'd because of the rule. Still even if a card says I CAN do something, I do it because it says I can. I keep up with other rules, but this one is just...

but the main point during the Damage Step Calculation is specific for attack/defense values. Time Passage just does level, where the increase in attack comes from the monster card in question not the spell card.

It only Increases the level by 3, the attack increase only comes from the effect of the fortune ladies, Brauno couldn't use it since its the battle phase.

@doseiaisha She had to activate the trap in the EXACT time when DrillWarrior came to the field again and NOT wait until the other player got a new card... she wanted to activate the trap a MOMENT later and she missed the "timing" for Bottomless because of that thought XD

Noah Faison This is from the yugioh wikia: Special Summoning “Drill Warrior” and adding 1 Monster Card to your hand do not happen at the same time. You Special Summon, then add the Monster Card to your hand. “Bottomless Trap Hole” cannot be activated.
Little late on this, but this video was made when Ignition Priority was still a thing in Yu-Gi-Oh! Due to the Ignition Priority ruling, the turn player got priority over card effects that activated after a monster was summoned. In other words, cards like Elemental Hero Stratos and Drill Synchron got to resolve their effects immediately after being summoned without having to worry about stuff like Bottomless Trap Hole or Torrential Tribute because that ruling made them miss timing. This is one of the primary reasons why Stratos was banned almost immediately after being released.

@krakat0a8 Inb4 drill off of a quick draw brings quickdraw back to your hand next turn for extra combos. Best way I one turn quasar with my quasar otk deck (Works every time first or second turn quasar)
