  • The second compilation of our train videos covers the other major rolling stock manufacturer in Europe, Siemens AG. It will cover the GTO-VVVF era all the way to the more recent IGBT-VVVF traction control system (though not including the latest Siemens Inspiro found in MyRapid MRT). Noticably, a lot of these technologies have made it to metros in Asia.
Siemens is relatively less visible in terms of rolling stock and traction control system manufacturing before SMRT's C651 in 1996, even though it has offered the Sibas 16 GTO-Chopper traction control once found in one of Siemens' earliest metro trains on Shanghai Metro Line 1: a really old video can be found at • 上海市 轨道交通1号线 莘庄站 . Since then, the technology increasingly found its way into Asian metro and even high-speed rail systems, especially in China.
Which Siemens rolling stock is your favourite? Which other train video compilations would you like to see? Let us know in the comments below, and if you like more of these do subscribe to our channel!
Do you know: All of these videos were previous published on our channel. Check our cards if you wish to take an extended virtual ride on these Siemens trains!

[Update on Incorrect Pitch]: An investigation found that the frame rate was exported too low, causing the lower pitch. The video editing software has limitations on the frame rates we are allowed to be exported. We managed some sort of a fix for future videos for now, but perhaps when we manage to afford to acquire an Adobe Premiere Pro license that would a long-term solution. Thank you for your patience!

The pitch is close. But TTC door chime is unique in the sequence of different frenquencies of the sound being played. That sequence of sound for door chime is actually patented and well written in the spec. which car builder required to conform to. That is why you feel like hearing the same door chime on H3, T1 and now the TR. But the system that generate the sound are generation apart.
