- The second compilation of our train videos covers the other major rolling stock manufacturer in Europe, Siemens AG. It will cover the GTO-VVVF era all the way to the more recent IGBT-VVVF traction control system (though not including the latest Siemens Inspiro found in MyRapid MRT). Noticably, a lot of these technologies have made it to metros in Asia.
Siemens is relatively less visible in terms of rolling stock and traction control system manufacturing before SMRT's C651 in 1996, even though it has offered the Sibas 16 GTO-Chopper traction control once found in one of Siemens' earliest metro trains on Shanghai Metro Line 1: a really old video can be found at • 上海市 轨道交通1号线 莘庄站 . Since then, the technology increasingly found its way into Asian metro and even high-speed rail systems, especially in China.
Which Siemens rolling stock is your favourite? Which other train video compilations would you like to see? Let us know in the comments below, and if you like more of these do subscribe to our channel!
Do you know: All of these videos were previous published on our channel. Check our cards if you wish to take an extended virtual ride on these Siemens trains!

[Update on Incorrect Pitch]: An investigation found that the frame rate was exported too low, causing the lower pitch. The video editing software has limitations on the frame rates we are allowed to be exported. We managed some sort of a fix for future videos for now, but perhaps when we manage to afford to acquire an Adobe Premiere Pro license that would a long-term solution. Thank you for your patience!

C651 definitely deserves the award for the best sounding moving object in the whole universe
No it's the one on the taurus locomotives
not by a thousand universes
It amazes me how the c651 can generate like five frequencies of sounds while decelerating.
I love Taipei metro bannan line C321 vvvf.
To me the best sounding ever are C321 & C651
C651 is an excellent and satisfying sound. The Keikyu is so relaxing and satisfying.
At least it was the rarest train in a entire country
Before I die, I MUST RIDE the Keikyu.
The best damn sound ever made on planet earth.
Vancity Elevators Agreed.
Well, you gotta be fast, as they're going to be disapper...

I’m from Shanghai, absolutely love the Siemens VVVF of our line 1 and 2 trains from the 90s, as well as the line 4 train from the early 2000s
Taiwan Siemens GTO-VVVF sounds so incredible
Ocean Shen Singapore As Well.
I love the Siemens sound the New York Subway makes.
Omg the c651 and the N1000 series sounds so satisfying
SMRT C651 sounds incredible.
Have to say the Keikyū N1000 series were the best since they produced a melody. Such a shame those inverters are disappearing. Btw, I lived in Japan a very long time ago and remember riding on those trains a lot.
Just for you to know that Lisbon also uses Siemens traction motors!😊
0:19 sounds like TTC door chime lol
The pitch is close. But TTC door chime is unique in the sequence of different frenquencies of the sound being played. That sequence of sound for door chime is actually patented and well written in the spec. which car builder required to conform to. That is why you feel like hearing the same door chime on H3, T1 and now the TR. But the system that generate the sound are generation apart.
@@user-jh6vt8vx4vH5/H6 chime sounds more chilling than T1/TR Rocket I wish they would continue to use it
7:40 Sounds Like S-bahn berlin
Schnellbahn S-Bahn S 41 Bauarbeiten nicht zwischen Grünau und doofe Straße
0:29 it sounds like the rail jet from Austria
The "ÖBB Taurus"
@@mikaleutgeb1492 or the BR 182
SHUT 8:55
At 0:01 Sound like
R160 SITRAC AC
It sounds like the siemens contract 651?
R160 had the Siemens SITRAC AC (IGBT-VVVF)
Sounds like the MI 09 made by AIstom .
The dream combination would be 0:50 to 1:27, eargasm to train geeks :D
0:50 sounds like low pitched 81-718
@vvvf inverter what?
I dont no hee is
Ilike u cut g
@prayut is fail the rail of jr train what?
This comment section has autism
In New York City, we hear very similar sounds with the R160B Siemens, great video!
Well it sounds a lot like Keio 8000 Series
良い音ですね。
収録お疲れ様です。
5:48 The vvvf sound at this moment is similar to the departure sound of trains on the Marmaray line in Turkey. (TCDD E32000)
I hope I would get to ride trains in Turkey one day!
@@sgbuses I definitely recommend it. Especially the e32000 train I mentioned is my favorite train! 😍
0:01 and 0:15 and 1:10-C651
I love GTO's sound.
Hope to hear Siemens Inspiro soon...theyre niceee
The pith is actually perfect!
E501 Series, C651, Taipei Metro C321 and C341, Siemens EMU Traction Motor Siemens GTO-VVVF and IGBT-VVVF.
The E501 Series were Toshiba IGBT-VVVF (Current).
1:51 Sounds exactly like Berlin S-Bahn BR481 ! At least at the start. But the best Siemens VVVF are the Keikyu and the Taurus ones. I heard that New York City was going to have the musical Keikyu propulsion on their R160B Siemens, but they finally skipped the musical part due to money constraints.
@@notused6779 I know, I just wanted to say the Keikyu-styled Siemens propulsion
@@notused6779 No problem
But the 2100 used to have siemens inverters now they have igbts that sounds nice
these singing trains in Japan are super terrible
@@Alexandraofficialproductions I guess that’s why they replace to IGBT on both 2100 and E501 train
The JR E501 series also has the same musical inverter as the Keikyu N1000 series
Oh, you guys forgot of the Siemens 3000 from CPTM (Brazil), which runs on Line 10. =p
日本の鉄道会社で車掌やってました。
ドレミファインバーター
この音は本当かっこよかったです。
素晴らしい !
The C651 and keikyu N1000 certainly has the best motors
BTS Skytrain in Bangkok also use Siemens, there are Modular Metro and Inspiro.
How about uploading Daegu Metropolitan Subway(DTRO for short) Line 1 in Korea? It also uses Siemens VVVF-GTO inverter
I also saw the Siemens also used DC traction motors with brushes and commutators in the Siemens metro trains, for example: The Siemens motor cars on Budapest Shallow subway, that Siemens metro trains was tracted by Brushed DC motors, but there is 2 troubles behind the DC motor, the first trouble is cause the DC motor to scream like 81-717/714, the second trouble is the DC motors are weak, that's why Siemens replaced the old DC motors with the AC motors with musical GTO inverters
It's really hard to ride any trains still with Siemens DC motors on.
In 81-717 / 714, the engines do not make noise, they make the noise of the gearbox.
6:22 so damn relaxing fu
Damn, in :
1. 0:01 the sound like Hitachi VVVF-GTO
2. 5:27 the sound like Armature Chopper 4 Quadrant
KHI vs C651.
beautiful sounds!
You should’ve added the Copenhagen S-train. It has the same traction motor.
I wish they would include the Humetro Line 2 in Busan, South Korea, because one of the types of trains there has a VERY good motor sound...
La mayoría de los trenes antiguos del metro de la ciudad de México (que usaban sistema JH) ya tienen IGBT y suenan igual, tales como los MP-68, NM-73 y MP-82.
The Alstom OPTONIX was designed to have a newer propulsion to the Siemens c321
The 360/2 sets in Bangkok sound like an LIRR long island railroad train and the 360/2 sets in the UK sound like the class 350 450 and 444
Me: "Violin or UFO?"
Siemens: "Yes"
DaeGu metro Line1 used Simens-GTO VVVF
Korail EL8200 simens GTO VVVF
왜 대구 1호선 영상은 없나요ㅠ.ㅜ
I think DTRO Line no.1, which also uses VVVF-GTO of Siemens, is missing
DTRO Line no.1 is located in Daegu, the Republic of Korea.
I love the c651, c321 and the n1000
the SMRT C651 is so LOUD AND IT HAS A STRONG MOTER
Yes. C651 Has The Loudest Population System.
@@SMBRProductions Since 2018.
I saw Hungary also had a Siemens Subway train on Metro line 1, But the problem is the Siemens Trains are got replaced by Ganz Hunslet Trains in 1973
And Also, on Budapest, the Old Siemens Shallow Subway trains are driven by Siemens DC motors, And the New Shallow Subway trains are driven by Ganz Hunslet DC motors
1:10 it's sad that this legendary c651 is soon going to be scrapped since it is a 1994 train
I wonder why regardless who built the trains, 1990s builds around the world are getting retired very quickly...
In Singapore there's also smrt trains
Taiwan Railways Administration ‘s EMU500 is also use SIEMENS GTO-VVVF
Does Vienna metro count as well? Think their newer stock was inspired by C651, it was made there after all.
Yes.
4:17 sounds like a br 425 s bahn!
Because is br 425😊
5:32 the sound same with Shen Zhen metro line 1 or Guangzhou metro line 2 and 8
You forgot about the R160B siemens 😢
Why isn't here a Siemens ES64U2 or a Siemens Desiro ML(Mainline)????
You forgot the NYC R160B
Next do Siemens LRVs, GE, or ADtranz
Korea Daegu metro line 1 also.
The first one isn't Guangzhou Metro. It's Singapore MRT
The first one is the C651, my favourite train my country. By the way did you know that you are more lilely to find a C651 on the east west line than the North South line, plus there is an analogue meter at the end of motor cars which tells you how fast the train is accelerating/retarding, so far the only train that i know that has this
KHI has it bro, man im cringing so hard at this
Where’s the R160B’s oh wait it uses the Siemens AC Propulsions nvm
Welcome to japan!
Siemens of the keikyu 1000 shape is unique!
In the past,train called railroad
company E501 called JR was also Siemens,
The sound when stopping is
interesting!
Please come to japan agein!
Flom Japanese
As I wrote while using additional
Apps translation application,there
may be other places
Thank you! I hope to return to Japan soon!
Wait a minute, what about Taipei Metro C341? (It uses Siemens IGBT-VVVF too)
Didn't manage to record, but there's the Siemens IGBT Keikyu N1000 too.
@@sgbuses And plus, it isn't easy to get a C341 because only six C341 sets were made.
E501系のドレミファ面白かったんだけどなぁ…
Either me, or he forgot the R160B’s
0:29 I wished the SIE C651 could also "sing"......
Keikyu already refurbished all 2100 2 years ago and there's no Siemens VVF 2100 left
Time flies...Back then the 2100 series were better known than the N1000 for the Siemens GTO-VVVF.
@@sgbuses they were the first keikyu train to get it
KTM Komuter is made from CSR Zhouzhou
Traction control is supplied by Siemens.
5:22 It looks like a Comeng trains wants to be in a Siemens video Lol
i FINALLY found an australian person in this vid, also yeah comengs still are cool though
@@sparkyplayzyt261 ahh my 2 year old comment... let me be more specific..
"Comeng is like the goddess in the melbourne train community
You forgot Daegu line 1
What happened to the Sydney Trains M Set?
That's under Alstom. czcams.com/video/9fPhQmwVkj4/video.html
mailerdiablo Oh OK! Lol!
1:52 AEG GEATRAC GTO-VVVF
Sounds like a plane flap
oder so wie eine S-Bahn
Sounds like 2009 stock at 7:45
Does a bit actually
RIP CRH3C of GTO-VVVF in China😭
2:20 why is there taipei mrt siemens c321 lol
It uses Siemens GTO-VVVF
some train with semes vvvf not here in this video
京急の音は今年の夏に聞けなくなるんだよね…
8:55 same like Minecraft Singapore
You seem to forget about C341
What about the British Rail Class 350, Class 360, Class 444 and Class 450 Desiro and Class 700, Class 707 and Class 717 Desiro City. And the Eurostar Class 374 E320.
And the VAL 206 or VAL208 .
The UK Desiro trains sound alien to me (as I don't live near the electrified network) and nothing like the musical sounding German / Austrian / Japanese trains. I'm surprised the Japanese bought Siemens electrics as thought they bought everything in-house, but the Japanese EMU at 0:28 sounds like a violin followed by a three-phase drive like the UK Class 323.
@@danielsellers8707 Yeah Class 323 does have that weird traction sound. Even the Class 321 that sounds like a cello.
やっぱり京急がいいわ。
西门子VVVF确实最好听
Sadly there are no MTR trains powered by Siemens but the Hyundai rotem K train is the best sound in the world and sounds like a Siemens
Mtr柴油機車是用Siemens
0:01 : MI 09
What does MTR Tung Chung Line trains use?
A-Stock - AEG GTO-VVVF
K-Stock - Mitsubishi Electric IGBT-VVVF

LOL some of the siemens train sounds like the Kawasaki
Sounds more like KHI motor.
What about NYC Subway R160B Siemens?
Haven't been to NY yet.
