  • I've always enjoyed making things with macrame cord, but it can be tough on my hands. However, I think I found a solution! This week, I tried something similar for my coasters, and they turned out even better than I hoped. They look just as good as store-bought ones!

I bought all of my materials on Amazon, but you can probably find it all in a craft store. Here are the links to the cord, and cork backers on Amazon if you want to buy them online. These are affiliate links :)

Please understand I have experience with these products & recommend them because they are optimal for this pattern, not because of the commission I make as a result of you buying them. Using these links is not required but is a big support! Thank you ♥️

👍 I prefer them without the cork, then they remain washable.😊

I never go higher than 2mm because of my arthritis but it is great for things like purses, baskets, bowls, trivets, and so on. I made a wine bottle holder for carrying wine to give as gifts at events. I adore this coaster design and I am planning to make a set for my living room. I already have the cord on hand. I'm excited. TYSM! ✌🏻😻🧶

I want to second that I love the vlog format instead of straight tutorial. It's comfy. Like a podcast.

I've always loved that pattern. I have a coffee cup that would fit nicely on the larger coaster. But either size, it's lovely.

Love your videos. Always lots of great ideas. Clear, easy to understand. I've used Bobbiny braided cord for years. Comes in many colors & sizes. Like you suggest, it's great for bags, purses, baskets, etc. I've seen this 2mm at Hobby Lobby. Will definitely try it.

Brittney this pattern would be great for creating sizes from mug to placemat. Now we need for you to come up with a book as to how to make those many sizes. Amazon has lot more than most people realize, but I usually start my search on the web for what ever I’m looking for, which gives you not only what is available on Amazon, but Etsy and lots of little business. I usually tend to purchase from the small business shops than Amazon when it comes to my supplies needed for my creations or anything else. Thanks for all your creativity❤

Hi Brittany! Really love your new video format. Until some weeks ago I was not a regular viewer of your channel. I used to pick and choose your videos based on what I needed help with, whether it's crochet or knitting. You were already very insightful. But this new vlog-style tutorial where you share your experience as you go through it, has made me a regular to your channel because I know you always have something significant to say about the technique of your chosen topic. It is very engaging. Thank you for sharing your talent. Love ❤

Hi there! I'm really happy you're enjoying the new style, and I thank you a lot for letting me know 💙 Change can feel scary sometimes, especially since my videos were the same for so long, but making videos like this just feels right to me. So I’ll definitely keep them coming!

I hope you will have the instructions for the size modifications. I could see this being good as more than just coasters. 🙂 Thank You.

I adjusted the pattern for how I made these ones, but there’s small/medium/large options in a really similar flower pattern of mine! Here it is if you want to try these sizes…

Whenever I see spiral designs in the round, I imagine them in rainbow colours and as a beret.

Could it be a hot pad for serving dishes on the dining table, using the original pattern size?

Good idea, except don't think I'd you the Cork backing as how would I wash it🤔, not sure it would survive ( except it would float) the process 😉

    • @bhookedcrochet
      @bhookedcrochet  Před 2 měsíci +1

Yeah, I’d say these will be hand wash only 👍

I really like this! Wonder if the difference in sizing happened because your cord is denser than what you used before when you made this previously. 🤔 😅 Either way, I really like it. Thank you ❤

I love your tutorials, but that background music is so annoying. That is all my brain seems to concentrate on. Therefore i cannot watch this one. I hope that is not the case with all yout tutorials
