  • My very first “long distance” ride on my Lectric XP 3.0 Long range. 30 miles plus round trip from Downey to Seal Beach. What an amazing experience!
NOTE: I’ve been able to top 50 miles on a single charge using pedal assist 1 & 2.
Lectric’s distance chart seems to be pretty accurate.
    Thanks for watching!!

Good luck! I used to enjoy the freedom my new bike brought me until it stopped working! After round and round with the company, a new battery that doesn't fit and never lived up to expectations I'm stuck financing a hunk of metal. Even if it turns on I will never trust it to go far alone again. Also you should know that lectric bikes are NON RETURNABLE

Also just a Pro-tip they sell portable power generators that are only 6 pounds but can charge electric bikes like urs. U can throw that in your bike rack or backpack if ur worried about loosing charge
So u can extend ur rides. In the event of an emergency 🦺 or whatever...

Are you talking about something like the Jackery? That would definitely be a great option to extend your distance for sure, or for an emergency charge if needed....only thing is you are adding weight to your ride, so it would definitely be something you'd have to consider if its worth it to add the weight of a power pack, or just find a place to stop and charge while you have lunch or something like that, if you can find a spot...and if you bring your charger, can't forget that LOL.
My current E-Bike is a Rattan Challenger 2 26" mountain bike style....if I recall it has about a 30 mile range, never tried it that far, but looking at the Lectric XPremium model which has dual batteries and a 100+ mile range on PAS-1, and a 50 mile range with just using all electric without pedaling....PAS 5 has a 60 mile range according the website...even at that, I don't care to go that fast, so for me with my current bike I'm usually using PAS-1 or PAS-2, occasionally I'll go to PAS-3 but I kind of enjoy the pedaling aspect...the only reason I really wanted the E-Bike is for the hill I have to go up on my way home from town, its a pretty steep climb, so the electric assist is great...and I plan on getting a little trailer as well, so having the PAS capability will be great, and getting the Lectric folding bike will allow me to put it in the trunk of my car and take on trips to be able to checkout other towns more easily since I can park somewhere and ride the bike into downtown areas where parking is difficult to find...much easier traveling by bicycle in many areas. Even though the town I live in isn't exactly bike friendly, there are ways around that problem by sticking to side streets rather than the main road through the middle of town.

Hey Chris, I haven't finished watching yet so maybe you address this, but I have a question. Around the 3:34 mark the bike shows 5 bars and you were around 12.3 miles into the ride on PAS 4. However, after another 2.2 miles your bike shows 7 bars 5:36 and was still PAS 4. Does the electric display of energy vary that much from mile to mile? That would be very irritating for me not to be able to trust the consistency of the display.

    • @chriselenes
      @chriselenes  Před rokem +2

      Hey there @Replicator,
the electric display has been very consistent as long as my pedaling and speed remain the same.
However, if I happen to slow down or stop, I will see it go up a bar or two. I’m no technician by any means, but my guess would be that it might have to do with less of a current being pulled from the battery. 🔋
I personally like it because it gives me a better idea of the range I’m to expect with the current PAS and speed.
One positive thing to note: I’ve only seen the bars go up after slowing down.
It’s never gone down suddenly or unexpectedly.
Hope this helps! Thanks for your great question and observation! 🙏

The Lectric XP 3.0 long range has a rated peddle assisted range of up to 65 miles, and throttle only up to 30 miles. It seems like you were peddling, and your range is only about 32 miles.
It seems like the rated range is a bit optimistic compared to the range in a real world test. How far is the throttle only range for the long range model under your real world testing? Does the long range battery fit in the battery chamber? Are both the standard and long range batteries the same physical size? Maybe the standard battery has less battery cells inside the battery case.
Maybe another thing that could be tested is how much does the range decrease as the battery ages, like several years old, many charge cycles.
