Christian artist Rebecca St. James talks about abstinence, and about the example of covenant love her parents set for her has been important in her life
God is awesome! I'm proud of Rebecca. I'm also happy that God still loves those who haven't waited, and is more than willing to forgive our sin if we repent :-)
I couldn't agree with her more ... she is a wonderful woman! So glad there are actually people out there who still think like this, even when in the spotlight. I respect her so much!!!
yea she reli inspiried me when i was a young teenager now a couple years later almost an adult ! lol i just started listening to her again n i luv her sooo much xxx
Rebecca, your A Woman who have a Beautiful Heart, Beautiful Soul, Beautiful Spirit, Beautiful mind, Beautiful Voice, Beautiful Song, Beautiful Face, how can I put this, Ok put it this way you are a Beatiful woman that not many can do what you do, in the Eyes of the Child of GOD you are Amazing.
God's way is beautiful, and its perfect. That's what people fail to realize. He created relationships so he's the perfect person to turn to when wondering how to go about dating and marriage.
@drewsky684 Good point you have there and also some people who are waiting for marriage will be waiting forever because some people never marry so a person needs to stop and think say "what if I never marry" before deciding on waiting and futher more waiting for marriage could possably lead to something called involuntary celibacy which could lead to major probelms mentally
She's married now and has a child. So beautiful and inspirational. I am waiting until marriage also. I will not give my virginity to a man until there has been the covenant of marriage.
Well, just as God has forgiven me for all my sins that I have committed and will commit, he forgives those that do not wait until marriage. It is possible to repent and recommit to living a sexually pure lifestyle, even though sinful actions cannot be undone. If that is the situation, that that is something for the man I'm attracted to, myself, and God to sort out. And marriage isn't about how much someone turns you on. It's much more than that.
Amanda Ostrem So, you do not believe that a marriage should be passionate. You may be wired differently. Just to let you know, your sexuality is something that you own yourself. You might have some fears in anticipation of adulthood. It seems like virginity is something to use as barter. Loss of virginity is looked upon with shame. This belief is very damaging to any woman who has been sexually abused as it makes them seem like damaged goods. It also is evil to look upon an adult woman who has experienced sex as a sinner, because she responded naturally to her mate.
Of course I believe marriage should be passionate, if you believe that passion only comes from sex, then I will say that marriage will be passionate because that will involve sex. Passion is more than just sex though, it is a powerful or compelling emotion, and passion is not a sin if expressed before marriage, by any means. I do own my own sexuality and I am choosing to save my virginity for after I am married. I'm sorry if that offends you. Any woman who has been sexually abused will be forgiven and is not to be judged by myself or others. Sex is a temptation, and it is a "natural response" to give into that temptation, as you mentioned. I can choose not to give in to that temptation until after marriage, just as we choose not to give in to other temptations.
+Amanda Ostrem My wife and I are on our 2nd marriage and we kept things our for 2 years and waited until we were married. God can redeem and make all things new.
she is teaching us, me, you why giving God the choice we make in a spouse is better. God "doen't choose" my bride, not FOR me, but instead created someone(s) to be "most compatible" in His plans. God shows us His best person(s)....He then allows me or you to persue any that God only can approve of us. He has that "specific person" or favorite spouse. One that is equally yoked by faith is God's provision. Look, Jesus is our "model husband" the way we love our bride; till death hallelujah? yes! He knows what we are looking for & whom we like before you/I ever met. Its a plan since the garden! God will let it happen because even though He don't Choose whom He definatly made SOMEONE COMPATIBLE YALL.....SOMEONE SMILE! 😅
@roac7777 You said that "only human beings can be corrupt". Why is that? To some extent I agree, if we define corruption as a choice or attitude. I was referring to corruption as the state that the natural world is enslaved by: violence, decay, death... You don't believe in the "herd instinct"? Personally I saw it at work eversince kindergarden. What do you think about crowd psychology that Freud and others studied? What about collective unconscious that Carl Jung mentions?
@MushroomGalaxy69 you're actually right to an extent. that's where you need the Spirit. live your life the way He leads you and whether you're married or not, it won't matter because you'll know you're in God's plan.
@addhomeschoolers Yes, sometimes two virgins may strike gold the first time around, but often not spoken about are the times when you think you've found your "soulmate" and then have sex and the chemistry just isn't there. Sometimes it develops, sometimes it does not. I am not saying "have sex have sex have sex!" I'm just saying that there should be a dialog saying that this could be a possibility...and if that happens, what do you do? Stay in a sexless marriage or not?
@MushroomGalaxy69 it will end. just keep holding on until you meet that special someone and you'll see that it was worth it. and this is coming from someone who's also still waiting. stay strong, friend.
I do not regret not waiting, but I wish I had waited until I was older. I was 15 and had little to no idea of what I was doing or the large number of risks that come with sex. With all the diseases and teen pregnancy through the roof (especially among minorities - gasp, I stated a truthful fact!), it is better to wait these days. And this is coming from a former Christian who has since went back to his agnostic roots since the Bible / god's word are not completely honest ( i.e. Matthew 23:1 is a huge lie).
I have MANY friends who waited until they were married to have sex and NONE of them without exception complain that they didn't sleep around before hand. ALL of them have great marriages compared to those of us who brought in baggage from previous relationships.
@sweetsweatyfeet ...people. Not only that but they are more optimistic, successful, healthy, etc. And that "book of bronze age fairy tales" is the reason why there are sane people in the world. God is truly amazing and because of Him, marriage is something beautiful. But with the kind of lifestyle you're trying to live, marriage will be something of insignificance to you, which is quite sad because if there are kids involved, they'll turn out the way...
@sweetsweatyfeet ...most kids are nowadays, rebellious and feeling incomplete (in terms of self-esteem, confidence, etc.) because their parents were not good role models. And this is happening more and more, which is quite sad. And the Bible does not have to impose guilt and shame for having a sex life, what's telling you that is your conscience.
@fxtrader92 I remember that I indeed did see it romantic and beautiful. But then I got to the actual dating. Even though I didn't follow the idea of "virgin-till-marriage" at that time, I still sort of got the notion. But the more I've thought about it, the less sense it makes. You can argue for the benefits of either till the cows come home, but I don't see any real benefits in being celibate, save for the idiot who can't protect themselves from STDs. Romantic? Perhaps to some.
@05khanha I don't need to read the Bible to be familiar with the concept. I think there probably is a god, but I honestly don't know about Jesus having all those powers. The extent of my religious activity is just giving thanks for my food and life briefly after each meal. Other than that, I'm not religious at all.
@drewsky684 If they never admit their decision is wrong, you cannot claim that it is wrong because you are just assuming something because that is what you think they might say. This is just speculation, not truth. Even if you somehow bassed this idea off what some people might have said to you once, you cannot claim that it is wrong for all people, as we are all individuals and as such cannot be limited to only one constrictive label or belief.
Waiting till marriage is the worst thing you can do. It goes against the core purpose of our being. It's completely unnatural and usually ends in dissapointment, although no one who waited will actually admit that; they'll claim the exact opposite, even if it's not true because they are SO convinced their decision to wait was correct. In reality, they will never know.
@05khanha Let's put the issue of my beliefs aside for a minute. I can tell you with absolute certainty that there is an afterlife. There are vast amounts of paranormal experiences to prove this, including a few I've had myself. To be honest, I believe there is a loose middle ground. Dealing in absolutes isn't the best approach
@BryantFinlay for those who don't want to believe, there's never enough evidence. Jesus said in the parable about Lazarus that "they will not be convinced even if someone rises from the dead."(Luke 16:31) For those who "seek the Lord while He may be found" (Isaiah 55:6) God provides all the evidence they need. That's why God gives us "godly grief that leads to repentance" (2 Chorinthians 7:10) because "there is no one righteous, not even one... there is no one who seeks God."(Romans 3:11)
@mnat28 Well first, I know many people over the age of 60 who still enjoy an active sex life with their partner. In fact, I know of a couple who are in their upper 80s and still doing it. And no, sex isn’t everything but it’s a major component for a happy marriage. Humans are usually sexual beings, with the exceptions of the asexuals out there. To be in sexless marriage is to deny a very important part of intimacy. If sex isn't so important, what's all the hubbub about saving it?
@BryantFinlay What I told you was not really an argument, but rather a challenge to put the bible to the test, to see for yourself. Finding evidence for God other than God Himself may be a stepping stone in the right direction, but is not enough. Religion, science, etc may give me knowledge ABOUT God, but I want to know God personally. Its my desire as His creation. Only God can reveal Himself. That's what I believe He did through Jesus. The practical result is freedom from sin.
@roac7777 Life on this earth is not fair. Some causes can have irreversible effects. Death came into the world as a consequence to man's disobedience. God is not a sadist. He gave us free will to chose even what is in our own disadvantage. People do it all the time. Life is full of regrets and failures. Denying God and rebelling against Him is a foolish way to deal with this situation. Especially after He has provided a way out by His wonderful grace.
@GodsDutchUncle: I read the "57 reasons why we know that bible is the word of god". I don't know if i read the wrong one or not but this one is ridiculous. A lot of them are not true at all. While others just say, it is word of god because Jesus said so... Great proof, very scientific lol Is there any particular ones that really sell it to you? I can give you my thoughts on them...
@05khanha I've never even bothered to read the Bible. It is not the word of God, but the word of men who felt that their viewpoints were synonymous with that of God. One only has to look at Jonah and the Whale to realize the absurdity of the book. There seems to be a trend where Americans are becoming less religious, and I can only see that as a good thing. I believe in God and Jesus, but I also am open to the idea that they are fiction as well.
@MissKristinka8 The term "lust" is not a legitimate concept. Rather it's manipulative language---a term used pejoratively by Christians in an attempt to assign negative moral baggage to the normal biological urges endowed by evolution into all species---urges necessary for procreation. Also, I never suggested for one minute that that we "sleep around" on our marital partners. Your straw man accusation, not mine.
@roac7777 "21 For as BY A MAN came death, BY A MAN has come also the resurrection of the dead. 22 For as in Adam all die, so also in Christ shall all be made alive. ... 25 For he must reign until he has put all his enemies under his feet. 26 The last enemy to be destroyed is death." (1 Corinthians chapter 15) "So Jesus came out, wearing the crown of thorns and the purple robe. Pilate said to them, “Behold the man!” " (john 19:5)
@0WarXHawk0 - It may be outdated to you, but it has nothing to do with how old it is. It has to do with God's will, not your desires to sleep with everything that moves.
@roac7777 A man made piece of literature...written by 40+ people, over 4000 years, with one consistent message; a message which has remained consistent and unchanged over 2000 years more of careful copying; the piece of literature which has more supporting documents (over 24,000 copies) than any other historical works (Ceasar - 10 copies, Tacticus - 20 copies); in which from the Old to the New Testament over 100 prophecies were fulfilled by the birth of one child. Looks like God's word to me!
@roac7777 Yes, we are "responsible for our own actions". Even more,"by your words you will be justified, and by your words you will be condemned.”(mat 12:37) Even more: "everyone who looks at a woman with lustful intent has already committed adultery with her in his heart."(mat 5:28) it doesn't matter what you believe right now, because "faith comes by hearing".(rom 10:17) It is a gift from God. Your part is to seek,ask,knock and He'll do the rest. (matthew 7:7,8) Ask for faith in prayer.
@BryantFinlay there are ppl who can really say. 1st, he said it himself. The Jews killed him based because of "blasphemy". Jesus claimed to be the Messiah and God. 2nd, Isaiah said about the "suffering servant" 500 years before in chap 52-53. His disciples said it, and didn't merely say it, but all died for their testimony. (everyone except John) Then, history confirms Jesus' claims about the destruction of the temple, persecution of the Church time will tell about his 2nd coming... , BUT
@sweetsweatyfeet And what I find even more so interesting is that you have a trend for bashing on Christianity. It's one thing to not believe in the one and true God but it's another to have so much hate for Him. I really hope God opens your heart to the truth.
but most importantly, if God is real, and Jesus' words are true, than God can prove Himself to anyone He pleases. That's why I said that, to find out about Jesus, put His words to the test: "Ask, and it will be given to you; seek, and you will find; knock, and it will be opened to you. For everyone who asks receives, and the one who seeks finds, and to the one who knocks it will be opened." (matthew 7:7,8) "For “everyone who calls on the name of the Lord will be saved.” (romans 10:13)
@ThefrenchFranz: Yes we are born to take care of ourselves. We are also born with empathy, selflessness and many other great traits. You might need god to help magnify these traits that you already possess but I don't. Lets take an obvious example if you see someone being raped, you would help the victim right away, why? not because your sky god is against it.. but because you feel for the victim. Give it a shot, believe it or not you might not be as bad of a person as you think..
I hope She knows She's depriving Herself of a wonderful experience. Sex is a wonderfully joyous thing and not being married makes it even better because that just means Your not tied down to that person if You aren't impressed with them, and if You are impressed with Your lover then You can stay with that Lover until such time as You see fit to break up with them.
@wickedawesome2468: U dont need god to think of others before yourself. I do not need a book to tell me that i need to help someone in need or treat others the way you'd want them to treat you. As for you "feeling better" , I really have nothing against that. Religion helps provide security for those that are afraid of uncertainty in general. If you truly believe the story you will obviously be comforted & even live a happy life. Whether that story is real is a completely diff issue..
@05khanha I think that Rebecca St. James and others take religion too seriously. If you want to be a virgin, that's fine. Just don't do it for the reason of faith, but for more secular reasons. James seems to think that God leads her to do certain actions, but I think she is being a bit too faithful. A god does not determine our actions. We ourselves do
@gigglefeather801: # of people dead because of atheist/agnostic "aggressiveness" = 0. # of people dead by religious wars = millions. Which one should really be disgusting? That is one of the reason why I am actually aggressive about it... I do not stroll the internet looking for religious stuff. But I had to point out the ignorance. For example if you found someone worshiping homer Simpson in a random video you would point it out too.
@BryantFinlay: Finally someone that actually thinks about their decisions rather then blindly following religion like a brain dead zombie. Only problem i had with your comment is the fact that you said "I believe in god and Jesus" but you never read the bible... ? How does that work
@MissKristinka8 Your logic escapes me since... how can I hate something that I don't believe exists? I don't "hate" your god---I just don't like what some Christians do in the name of their god. The very language you use consisting of dogmatic and baseless assertions ("one and true god" and "opens your heart to the truth" reveals not a rational, skeptical, inquiring mind but one captured by a cultish and pinched view of existence. However reality still exists for you to one day rediscover.
@roac7777 God is not "petty to worry about such things" because they affect Him. He worries about YOU. Your sin does not hurt God (although it grieves Him). When God will judge Satan and his angels, He will have to judge us also, because we have also sinned, yet "I have no pleasure in the death of the wicked, but that [he] turn from his way and live" (Ezekiel 33:11) "[God] is patient toward you, not wishing that any should perish, but that all should come to repentance." (2 peter 3:9)
what if you wait till wedding night just to find out your wife has a sex drive next to none and is willing to have a sex only if she wants to have a kid.
@sweetsweatyfeet Also, not everyone marries. Many men and women for various reasons remain single much if not all of their lives. Do you really wish to deny them a sex life?
@05khanha Christianity, is not to make me "feel better" in fact in many ways it is quite the opposite. The bible says that followers will suffer, but consequences reap rewards. Jesus tells us to think of others before ourselves,. The purpose of Christianity is to glorify God and love those around us. as for "feeling better" my satisfaction is found in following Christ
@05khanha - The Book is definately real . Read " 57 Proofs of the Bible " online . Fulfilled Bible Prophesy ( hundreds of Bible predictions have happened ) Check out the list in the best study Bible , " Dake's Annotated Reference Bible . He studied God's Word for 100 thousand hours , during his lifetime . YOU CAN KNOW ! See our videos - Type in Bible Mythbusters - Doubt your doubts !
@jnone113 none of this proves that he had superhuman power. just because people say it doesn't mean it is true. i happen to think the so-called second coming is wishful thinking by some
@05khanha : do you really believe what you wrote ? you have heard of religion and psychology (which is a religion too) but "wickedawesome" talks of faith : leaving room in our lives for God himself to fill it. And of course ( ! ) you need Him to think of others before yourself : you are naturally led to care for you first, if not exclusively ! Does your religion (my-own-philosophy-fitted for-myself) "provide you security"? I'm sure it does : it is its only goal.
@roac7777 Concensus doesn't justify an action. You don't own your body. We're not even supposed to swear by it. "And do not swear by your head, for you cannot make even one hair white or black." (mat 5:36) God doesn't want to be your policeman. He is also your advocate and your savior, if you will accept His help. Hell was made for "the devil and his angels" not for us, yet we are as guilty of rebellion as him. God the Creator humbled himself before his creation on the cross to save us.
@sweetsweatyfeet What a lot of people have is a need to satisfy their lust. Yes, we all have a normal sexual needs but that's why there is marriage. Yeah yeah I'm sure it's boring for those that want to sleep around without any strings attached but that's the way to go...and that's not coming from my "book of bronze age fairy tales," it's coming from many many statistics. Married couples are more happy than those that want to have a sex life with multiple...
@flamedancer48 A woman should not be judged AT ALL by her choice to be sexually active. You imply her virginity is somehow a favor to her husband. Maybe to neanderthals who relish the idea of being the first conquer a virgin but to any man with an ounce of respect for women, it wouldn't matter. If she chooses to remain celibate fine, I respect that as long as it's her choice but if she has chosen a sex life---you need to respect that too.
@BryantFinlay The only way to find out if Jesus is real is to put His words to the test. Everything else is just theory. "And everyone who hears these words of mine and does not do them will be like a foolish man who built his house on the sand." (mat 7:26) "O taste and see that the LORD is good; How blessed is the man who takes refuge in Him!"(psalm 34:8) Jesus said to them, "I am the bread of life; he who comes to Me will not hunger, and he who believes in Me will never thirst. (John 6:35)
@Crazygirl1910 Darwin indeed speculated that his theory might not be correct. That is called intellectual honesty. However, Darwin didn't have the benefit of the fossils, genetics or any other of the several sciences that alone could already prove evolution beyond reasonable doubt, not to mention how well they work together. Even if no fossils were ever found, genetics would suffice. Without genetics or fossils, morphology is sufficient enough. To say there is no proof is just ignorant.
How is it oppressive? people can follow it or ignore it, no one is forcing anyone to do anything and being intolerant of other beliefs can be bigotry (anti-semitic, or Islamophobic people think those beliefs are fraudulant and opressive) I definately was rude in my inital response my apologies. Also before my conversion I did F-word around a lot ,thats how I recieved and gave girls HIV only just wished I had converted to christianity sooner would have done me and others alot of good.
God says we are not to do that. If you want to disrespect him and his command you will end up losing your soul for all eternity. Repent and believe his gospel then you will be saved from damnation. Ps 2:12 Kiss the son, lest he be angry with you, and you perish in the way, when his wrath is kindled but a little. Blessed are those who put there trust in him.
@1angel0777 The Bible was written by men, not by God. It's a little hard to take seriously, considering such stories as Jonah and the Whale, Noah's Ark, etc. Unfortunately, people like you take a book that was written by men far too seriously.
Crazy we've all been rebel siinners at one time or another, and God hates all of it, that is why his son Jesus had to die on a cross for us., he rose again 3 days later and if you believe you be born again. Jn 3:3 Except a man be born again, he cannot see the kingdom of God. Until you say yes to Jesus you will remain spiritually dead, blind, and basically a servant of satan.
@Lizzeeyful Sex is NOT everything!! When you're over 60 sex is gone for a lot of people! And then what?? I believe that you'd marry a man for his good qualities, and for what the common interests shared, etc etc not for how great he's in bed!!
@roac7777 - Ah, but evolution could be just as false as religion. They cannot prove the evolution theory is true, and even Darwin had doubts about his theory. I guess we'll just have to wait and see, eh?
@MissKristinka8 Marriage is not an invention of Judeo-Christianity nor does it have anything to do with your concept of "god". Love bonds and nuclear families have existed in many forms long before Christianity was ever conceived of. In cultures that never heard of your "god" as well as numerous animal species. Marital bonds are natural for a social species like humans if and when they enhance survivability and well being.
@BryantFinlay: So you still talk to your imaginary friend in the sky after food? uhh nevermind... lol Either its all a lie, Jesus's powers, whale story, talking snakes OR its the truth. There is no middle ground... If you dont believe in all that you dont believe in the god. Lets take the assumption that you are right that there is a god. Why does jesus's powers seem improbable to you? I mean god created everything, magic would be easy wouldnt it?
Gracious, articulate, and sharing God's redemptive love. Thank you for being a role model for young people, who want to follow God's best.
God is awesome! I'm proud of Rebecca. I'm also happy that God still loves those who haven't waited, and is more than willing to forgive our sin if we repent :-)
Preach it sister! God's way is best 4 sure! Johnny Cash & I have tried both ways
I couldn't agree with her more ... she is a wonderful woman! So glad there are actually people out there who still think like this, even when in the spotlight. I respect her so much!!!

I love you Rebecca!!!
Excellent! I am a virgin and she as well as Point of Grace are my inspiration.
Iam so proud of her for waiting.I been saved fir 22 years as a single but I know in god time it will happen
Amen Rebecca! :) God bless!
I admire Rebecca and agree with her. Waiting until marriage is the right thing to do because God commands it in His word.
O rebecca I'm so blessed with your testimony
totALLY AWWESOME!
agreed
shes my inspiration.
great message, waiting is special.
Kudos, Rebecca.

waiting for godot
@SmartSoundStudios amen
@roac7777 A question for you: how do you define a "right" versus a "need" or a "want'? They are fundamentally different...
@Califacience
I agree.
@Rudemanlan fair enough
Sometimes, I feel like the waiting will never end....
She's married now and has a child. So beautiful and inspirational. I am waiting until marriage also. I will not give my virginity to a man until there has been the covenant of marriage.
What if the man that you are attracted to has enjoyed sex, before he met you, and all of the men that are waiting, don't turn you on?
Well, just as God has forgiven me for all my sins that I have committed and will commit, he forgives those that do not wait until marriage. She is what now, 32? Wow she is patient! And sometimes I get discouraged that I am still waiting at 24. Her husband will be so unbelievably lucky.
@BryantFinlay: Ok Done! So what paranormal experiences are we talking about psychedelic drugs? hallucinogens?
Abstinance is a folly. PERIOD!!!

You said that "only human beings can be corrupt".
@MushroomGalaxy69
you're actually right to an extent. that's where you need the Spirit. live your life the way He leads you and whether you're married or not, it won't matter because you'll know you're in God's plan.
Stay in a sexless marriage or not?

it will end. just keep holding on until you meet that special someone and you'll see that it was worth it. and this is coming from someone who's also still waiting. stay strong, friend.
@sweetsweatyfeet
...people.
@jnone113 Jesus was a real historical person. Whether or not he had powers, no one can really say.
@sweetsweatyfeet
...most kids are nowadays, rebellious and feeling incomplete (in terms of self-esteem, confidence, etc.) because their parents were not good role models.
@BryantFinlay
for those who don't want to believe, there's never enough evidence.
Jesus said in the parable about Lazarus that "they will not be convinced even if someone rises from the dead."(Luke 16:31)
For those who "seek the Lord while He may be found" (Isaiah 55:6) God provides all the evidence they need.
That's why God gives us "godly grief that leads to repentance" (2 Chorinthians 7:10) because "there is no one righteous, not even one... there is no one who seeks God."(Romans 3:11)
And the other, you just have to change the url cause youtube wont let you post links

@BryantFinlay
What I told you was not really an argument, but rather a challenge to put the bible to the test, to see for yourself.
@roac7777
Life on this earth is not fair.
@seanieshoe Looks like she already got hit with the humble face stick.
@roac7777
"21 For as BY A MAN came death, BY A MAN has come also the resurrection of the dead.
22 For as in Adam all die, so also in Christ shall all be made alive.
...
25 For he must reign until he has put all his enemies under his feet.
26 The last enemy to be destroyed is death."
(1 Corinthians chapter 15)
"So Jesus came out, wearing the crown of thorns and the purple robe. Pilate said to them, “Behold the man!” "
(john 19:5)
@djmocha7 Hate to break it to you but it doesn't happen to absolutely everybody
@roac7777
Yes, we are "responsible for our own actions".
Even more,"by your words you will be justified, and by your words you will be condemned.”(mat 12:37)
Even more: "everyone who looks at a woman with lustful intent has already committed adultery with her in his heart."(mat 5:28)
it doesn't matter what you believe right now, because "faith comes by hearing".(rom 10:17)
It is a gift from God.
Your part is to seek,ask,knock and He'll do the rest. (matthew 7:7,8)
Ask for faith in prayer.
@BryantFinlay
there are ppl who can really say.
(everyone except John)
Then, history confirms Jesus' claims about the destruction of the temple, persecution of the Church
time will tell about his 2nd coming... , BUT
@Philusion No great experiences either.
I'd be interested to find out why you think that way, although I disagree with you. Contact me and let's discuss this issue.
@sweetsweatyfeet
And what I find even more so interesting is that you have a trend for bashing on Christianity. It's one thing to not believe in the one and true God but it's another to have so much hate for Him. I really hope God opens your heart to the truth.
but
most importantly,
if God is real, and Jesus' words are true, than God can prove Himself to anyone He pleases.
That's why I said that, to find out about Jesus, put His words to the test:
"Ask, and it will be given to you; seek, and you will find; knock, and it will be opened to you.
For everyone who asks receives, and the one who seeks finds, and to the one who knocks it will be opened."
(matthew 7:7,8)
"For “everyone who calls on the name of the Lord will be saved.” (romans 10:13)
@ThefrenchFranz: Yes we are born to take care of ourselves. We are also born with empathy, selflessness and many other great traits. You might need god to help magnify these traits that you already possess but I don't. Lets take an obvious example if you see someone being raped, you would help the victim right away, why? not because your sky god is against it.. but because you feel for the victim. Give it a shot, believe it or not you might not be as bad of a person as you think..
Oh my goodness how old is she
She looks like she is 40 at least
However reality still exists for you to one day rediscover.
haha, that's very funny. mind telling me why is it a disaster?
@roac7777
God is not "petty to worry about such things" because they affect Him. He worries about YOU.
Your sin does not hurt God (although it grieves Him).
When God will judge Satan and his angels, He will have to judge us also, because we have also sinned,
yet
"I have no pleasure in the death of the wicked, but that [he] turn from his way and live" (Ezekiel 33:11)
"[God] is patient toward you, not wishing that any should perish, but that all should come to repentance." (2 peter 3:9)
@sweetsweatyfeet
Hasn't failed for 22 years yet, don't foresee it failing anytime in the future either...
what if you wait till wedding night just to find out your wife has a sex drive next to none and is willing to have a sex only if she wants to have a kid.
Somehow, that very thought just gets to me...
@sweetsweatyfeet Also, not everyone marries. Many men and women for various reasons remain single much if not all of their lives. Do you really wish to deny them a sex life?
@05khanha
Christianity, is not to make me "feel better" in fact in many ways it is quite the opposite. The bible says that followers will suffer, but consequences reap rewards. Jesus tells us to think of others before ourselves,. The purpose of Christianity is to glorify God and love those around us. as for "feeling better" my satisfaction is found in following Christ
Here's one
answerbag(dot)com/profile/652750/
@jnone113 can you actually try gathering evidence from a source other than the Bible or a religious one? it would make your argument more credible.
@roac7777
Concensus doesn't justify an action.
You don't own your body. We're not even supposed to swear by it.
"And do not swear by your head, for you cannot make even one hair white or black." (mat 5:36)
God doesn't want to be your policeman. He is also your advocate and your savior, if you will accept His help.
Hell was made for "the devil and his angels" not for us, yet we are as guilty of rebellion as him.
God the Creator humbled himself before his creation on the cross to save us.
@sweetsweatyfeet
What a lot of people have is a need to satisfy their lust.
@BryantFinlay
The only way to find out if Jesus is real is to put His words to the test.
Everything else is just theory.
"And everyone who hears these words of mine and does not do them will be like a foolish man who built his house on the sand."
(mat 7:26)
"O taste and see that the LORD is good; How blessed is the man who takes refuge in Him!"(psalm 34:8)
Jesus said to them, "I am the bread of life; he who comes to Me will not hunger, and he who believes in Me will never thirst.
Those earings look heavy and uncomfy!
