A small missed opportunity though, later the pitch guy should have called Emmett a "character" and exec guy should have corrected him and said "don't you mean product?" And pitch guy says "yes, of course" and continues.

So, I gotta be that guy for a minute:
The turning point is where the son, playing Emmett, says "you don't have to be the bad guy". It's his son inviting him to be the hero in the son's life, to not be a tyrant who's lost touch with the magical elements in life. The story is about not forgetting to breathe and to dream and to play. :)

I once recieved the entire Lego Movie as a CZcams ad, so...Do with that what you will.
I almost finished it too, but then I accidentally pressed "skipped ad"...Then I was confused as to what I was watching because by that point I had completely forgotten what video I was watching.
This is the only CZcams channel where I actually watch the ads all the way through instead of skipping after a few seconds. I've been binge-watching these videos for 3 days now. They're hilarious.

The multiple messages were actually all about "individualism." There are subtleties of the message throughout the entire film. From the people of Bricksburg being obsessed with consumerism and pop culture, to the Master Builders aspiring for creativity, to President Business / the father learning not to condem one's creativity. One of the best written family films I've ever seen.

Yeah this movie was so successful it even got it's own spin off series on cartoon network, Unikitty. You can tell I know about it because not only did I just mention it, but I have a unikitty as my CZcams avatar.
