    I love the bag but I don’t know, everyone. Something about it doesn’t sit right with me. Have you ever bought anything from Vestiaire Collective? What was your experience like? (And how did they package it??)
    Also, I know I didn’t actually tell my story about how I came to buy this bag, so I’ll be making another video on it. It can be quite a hunt, tracking down a pre-loved Chanel piece, especially a vintage Chanel!

    Don't keep it. If you are not satisfied then it's not worth the money. Another piece like this in pristine condition will come up and then you will be happy! Btw whenever I bought from Vestiaire I always got the black VC dustbag including a tag that the item has been authenticated. This is very sad to see

    I think you have to follow your gut reaction, bags at this price should not make you feel disappointed, compare this to how much you love the navy seasonal bag and I think you know what you should do 💕

      I completely agree. Their packaging sucks. I bought one from them and returned it as it wasn't even what I thought it was. I bought another one from Xupes and their packaging is much better. I said the same thing on my channel

    I bought this exact style of bag one year ago (not bought through Vestiaire) and honestly I had the same feeling that it wasn't that typical buttery smooth lambskin leather but rather hard. Conditioning helped a bit but it couldn't take away from the plastic-y feeling so I decided to sell it. Maybe it's just that season's leather wasn't that great type of leather (or maybe I've just accepted that it wasn't for me)... When it comes to Vestiaire Collective, I like the secure process and their handling a lot, but I also didn't get great packaging either (just like yours) when I bought a LV canvas bag. Because it was canvas I wasn't too worried but I understand that it's not really acceptable for a lambskin bag at all.

    Interesting....I received a vintage Chanel from Vestiaire in their Dustbag and with a tag stating that it was authenticated. I’ve also received items directly from Rebag that were nicely packaged and came with their plastic authentication card.

    Fashionphile always includes a dust bag and shipping papers and it’s always well packed. This makes me not want to order from Vestiare.

    I´ve bought from Vestiaire several times and so far always been happy with my purchases. The packaging differed significantly depending on whether the item was sent by Vestiaire after autethication or by the seller (private or professional) directly when using the direct shipping option. From Vestiaire themselves so far I have always had a new, good quality neutral box. The items were wrapped in a Vestiaire black dustbag and tissue paper. I´m not sure whether there was any paperwork inside. When using direct shipping I had all sorts of packaging- from extremely well and carefully packed, even with extras I had not expected like the original shopping bag for example to just dropped into a plastic shipping bag without any padding or protection.

      This was a purchase that was sent to Vestiaire first. I didn't do direct shipping, in part to try to avoid issues. I don't know what happened here!

      @@classicswithaquirk Not doing direct shipping definetely lowers the risk. What they did with your parcel I simply cannot understand. I usally opt for direct shipping, though, because it safes money and I only buy from the lower edge of the price scale, older bags, often with small issues I´m sure I can fix and when I am absolutely sure they are authentic.

    I received a Chanel Mini lambskin rectangular bag that was not wrapped properly from Fashionphile. The chain had made marks on the back. Fashionphile gave me $100 credit when I reported it. Fortunately, the marks disappeared once I slightly steamed and conditioned it. I think it was because the marks were new. The bag was made in France and was from 2014. The lambskin was in perfect condition with no scratches or blemishes. Packaging is so important!!

    I had the same experience with Vestiare recently, no VC dustbag, no invoice, they didn't even write any date/initials on the tag. And they didn't inspect my bag properly, because it had issues upon arrival. I was also disappointed, but their costumer service was at least fast and very helpful. But I don't know if I will order from them again.

      I was able to return it without issue, but I didn't buy from a private seller. They don't have a return policy, so I'd be a little more careful.

Normally when it's private sale you're not able to return the item, but because the bag had some issues that weren't mentioned by seller or VC, they unlocked a return for me. VC checked the bag again to confirm my claim and they luckily accepted it, but if they don't accept your claim, the item will be returned back to you again. But I think that they overall was very helpful about the situation. I got my money back and everything is all good now :-)

    So sorry they sent your beautiful bag without care! I’ve returned a Coach bag sent like that, I can’t imagine anyone plopping a Chanel in a box with no wrapping - especially letting the chain flop around to scratch the lamb skin.

    I'm so bummed for you! If it doesn't make you happy, I think you should send it back. There is definitely a significant difference in your reaction and I honestly don't think you'll ever be happy enough with it to make it worth it.

    I hope to spread more awareness on my channel that buying from small, individual sellers is actually so much better than buying from these large re-sale companies. As long as you do your due diligence about authenticity, your experience will be SO much better. Unfortunately, the "quality control/authenticity departments" are just poorly paid workers who have to focus more on meeting quotas rather than doing their job thoroughly. This is how fakes slip through and how bags end up sent out unprotected like this 😔.

    Pretty shocking this bag was sent as it was; unacceptable imo. I suggest if it doesn't "spark joy", absolutely return it. After three attempts with Chanel through Fashionphile, I gave up and only buy new now - costly but it's the only option that works for me. Please do a Chanel bag collection with brief pros/cons on each!

    I know the customs fees are already at the final price but I don't understand how this site works

      So yes, if the item you buy is from overseas, you do have to pay customs if the website under calculates. I bought this bag from a US seller, so I was but charged customs

    Interesting --I've purchased from Rebag and didn't get a card like that. Sorry you didn't have a great experience. I had a bad experience with Vestiaire a long time ago and that soured me on buying from them.

      I did end up returning the bag. The leather felt painted or dyed, and in the end I just couldn’t keep it for that reason.

    I just bought a very vintage Chanel from Vestiaire and it came in exact same way as yours. My theory is that if it comes from their Hong Kong headquarters, the packaging is inadequate. Having said that, I loved my bag and I got it at a bargain price. I am keeping my bag no doubt as I love it. It is authentic too. Keep the bag if you love the bag disregarding the packaging as wishlist Chanel vintage pieces are hard to come by....and on camera yours seem to be in excellent condition. Good luck deciding. 💙

    You can contact leather surgeons to see if the plasticy leather is "fixable". They told me if I condition the Chanel leather frequently the leather gets sticky. So I stopped using leather conditioning products.

      Hm, that's interesting to know. I do condition my bags, but I do it sparingly as needed and I'm very careful about choosing the products I use. A lot of conditioner has silicone in it, and that's something you definitely want to avoid!

    Just watching this now in late June. I sensed your holding back of tears as you opened the box. No item of quality, and what has better quality than Chanel, should be placed in a box only surrounded by tissue paper! In most worlds the packager would have lost his/her job. By looks alone, it is a lovely handbag.

      I ordered an LV MM agenda in damier ebene about six months ago. When it arrived in the mail there was no ribbon (not unexpected) and it was literally smashed in a box that was too small for it causing the open ends to roll up. The box could not even close all the way. Did I also mention that there was no LV cover case? This item’s cost without tax is $610. Who sends items of great value like this out in the manner they do?

    Im not surprised. My last purchase using Vestiaire Collective (USA) was very disappointing. I try to only purchase through Vestiaire’s EU countries. So sorry you aren’t totally pleased with your purchase.

    If you don't like it, please return it :"( im really sorry that it wasn't what you wanted. We've seen you how happy you are when doing an unboxing and we can tell you weren't happy at all. It's a lot of money to keep if you're not 100%! It will come up again eventually!! ♥

    what do you mean there wouldnt be a way to track if it got lost? didnt it have the sender/receiver address on the packaging they sent out? 😂😂
    it is weird if there is no some sort of paperwork inside (details of purchase etc..) but still dont understand what u mean by it cannot be tracked if lost.

      I've known people who have had their boxes get wet or damaged and the outside label can't be salvaged. Having a packaging slip inside the box is an additional guarantee against issues.

    ive had a similar experience with vestiare collective. I got a vintage celine bag and when I opened the package the smell was TERRIBLE. I couldn't even use the bag and since I got it from an individual seller I couldn't return it. I doubt ill ever be shopping on there again. sorry you had this experience too

    Wow! I have purchased a couple of items from Vestiare Collective. Both items came in VC dust bags and paperwork guaranteeing authenticity. I would definitely submit a review to VC Customer Service. Definitely, return it!

    I wouldn’t purchase/keep a vintage without a dust bag - it reflects how the previous owner kept it … not good 😏
    I suspect the bag has been repainted because of its leather feel and/or not kept well if it’s dry to the touch. How do u loose a dust bag?

    Agree with Vincent DLT. What did you do in the end? Did you send the bag back?
    By the way, yes one can return items to VC even if bought them from a private seller in case the item is not compliant with the description or the seller has in any way misled the buyer. I did return a couple of items bought on VC from private sellers, because of that and I was issued a full refund. However, the seller (me) had to corroborate the reason why the item should be returned and the refund issued with plenty (!!) of hard evidence. The burden of proof is on the buyer, even if it was the seller who misled the buyer in the first place. Hope it makes sense. Many thanks for sharing! xxCaterina

      I did end up returning the bag. My heart just wasn't in it. But that's okay-- there will be others! I understand what you're saying about trying to return if there is an issue with an item. Proof on the buyer is always hard but at least there's an option.

    I understand why you are so disappointed. I would be, too. A bag of this type should always come with a dust bag and proper packing. This would sour the experience for me, too. I agree with others who say that you should send it back.

    This packaging is unacceptable.
    I only purchased one item from VC, it was a 3.1 Philip Lim Pashli Satchel from a private seller. She happened to have the dust bag so the bag was shipped in it.
    I've heard some horror stories from VC customers.
    The platform doesn't remove counterfeit listings and doesn't do any checks when you list an item. Someone call pull pictures from the internet and list their fake using them.
    I watched a video from a person with a lot of experience with Chanel, and just by scrolling through the listings they were able to tell a lot of fakes.
    Someone bought a jacket from VC, the next year they wanted to sell it and VC rejected it as counterfeit.
    Someone else bought a pair of LV boots, was sent the WRONG MODEL, and VC refused to issue a refund. They said that since the item was received, the transaction was complete and there is nothing they can do.
    Ridiculous.

    I wouldn’t keep it if the leather doesn’t feel good. If it hasn’t been stored right the integrity of the leather could be compromised and you won’t be able to enjoy the bag as long as you should vs the price you paid! Hope you find another, better condition bag!

    I’ve had good luck buying direct from Rebag. Great packaging dust bag and papers. That full back pocket bothers me. Never seen that. How does the bag smell? That can be a deal breaker for me. If you got a bargain I would keep it but would definitely contact Vestier and complain. No don’t tamper with it conditioner might further damage

    The bag looks old and tired, and wasn't taken care of by the previous owner. You're clearly not satisfied, so send it back.

    Vestiaire packaging is the worst. My brand new Chanel top handle mini bag came with the handle squished and deformed. They don't give a F. I had to squish it back to normal handle shape. There is a small tear in the handle glazing due to the packing. Its such a hard to get bag, i just accepted it. I had 2 other bags that also got squished/deformed during shipping. It's not a one off situation.

    I am shocked they removed all the rebag materials!!! How does that make any sense?!? Ugh I’m so sorry about this experience. You should return this!!!! You can get way better elsewhere. Btw rebag always has dehydrated bags. I always hesitate from buy from them for that because I don’t think they store and care for bags well 😭

    Depends what ur plans are if ur wanting to use it everyday in public I would send it back cause ur not happy obviously but if it's just going into ur collection as an vintage piece then I would keep it for that reason but if ur unhappy ur not gonna use it outside of public.

    Ohh I wonder why yours didn’t come in a dustbag. I purchased few items already from Vestiaire, and usually when the item has no box at all from original seller, it comes in a Vestiaire dustbag. So far mine always packaged like that. Anyways, the bag is beautiful and I love vintage bags especially chanel❤️

    Wow, I'm baffled by the shipping packaging from Vestiare! I'm a regular seller on Vestiare and I make sure to double box and throw in a ton of air pillows inside and around the bag as we all know how rough shipping carriers are with handling the package.

    This is definitely all Vestiaire wrong doing especially since it went to them prior to being shipped to you. I remember your Rebag purchase was packaged with plastic all over it, a large dust bag, and then some! Vestiaire should be ashamed! That's not the way to ship luxury items to customers at all.

    Vestiaire’s shipping scares me. I can’t request signature confirmation and I can’t track my package like eBay which pissed me off. It turned me off from purchasing. Plus they way they structure their messaging system you can’t say certain things and they sanction you by not allowing you to send certain messages. 1 purchase and I haven’t been back. & customer service is NON-EXISTENT. You can’t call and complain anywhere. You have to message them. It says that it can take up to 48 hrs to answer 👀👀👀👀😳💆‍♀️🤦‍♀️

    I no longer buy vintage/pre loved… I recently sold my entire collection of LV and Dior. All vintage. I’d rather buy an item new after owning pre loved. But also now to be honest, I don’t feel the need to own high end designer… I prefer more understated lesser known luxury and quality brands. It’s nice discovering a new young designer. I’d rather have a few awesome mid price bags that are stunning quality , rather than dropping thousands on something dusty.

    Don’t condition it by yourself. Send it to Leather Surgeons. I sent my vintage jumbo vertical flap there and they got rid of all the inside pen marks, conditioned side and out. It was worth spending a little money on having the Chanel pros take care of it.

    I purchased a vintage Hermes Kelly off Vestiaire and regret keeping it honestly. The description did not match the bag and I think because it was vintage and lower price I accepted that it was different. In the end I wanted a different type of leather and it really changed the look/feel of the bag. I am probably going to sell it.

    I’m very shocked I pay yearly to VC and I have never gotten anything with out proper packaging. If my item does not include the original dust bag and box they always have put my item in a self branded bag. Even when I bought a dior brooch they put the box it came in into a VS branded bag. Very strange. I’ve found their service very nice , even when I purchased a ysl bag they contacted me because it stated never used in the description and they felt or was a tad over priced so they contacted the seller to inquire about a price reduction on my behalf and I was welcome to cancel if I wished. That’s great service. But witnessing this opening makes me think someone was not doing their job. Especially if you were not contacted about the condition

    I'm sorry you had a bad experience. It is a lovely bag, but if you're not happy you're not happy. Maybe if you look at the pros and cons, it will help you make a decision. I know it can be frustrating to wait and wait for something and it doesn't meet your expectations. Again, so sorry. 😢😢😢

    I totally understand your disappointment. However, you have been looking for this style of bag for a long time so don't get rid of it too quickly because you might not find another one in the future... Maybe, the bag only needs a good cleaning and a bit of conditioning. Ask a professional. I think it is worth trying and then you will see if you love it or not. Give her another chance, it is a beautiful piece!

    I love the bag, however i really am one of those people who try not to get upset about things especially when I’m so excited for an item... with that being said that packaging is completely unacceptable, Chanel bags are extremely pricey especially the vintage ones. Honestly i would raise hell lol. I’m so sorry I’m getting mad for you typing this. That is crazy. It’s like they just threw a bag worth thousands randomly in a box. Which is crazy, it shows they don’t even care about the delicacy of the bags. I’m so sorry you had that experience I’m really bummed for you. 😕

I can tell you know your Chanel well enough to know that this is a fake. But if you knowingly re-listing this as a real one, how would that make you feel?

      Yes, I did return it. I was allowed to do so because I bought from a “professional” seller. If you buy from a pro seller, you’re given a 14-day return window. I would never knowingly sell an inauthentic item, don’t worry! And had they not let me return it, I would have most likely opened a fraud case with my credit card.

    Just purchased and received my LAST order from here. Was shipped after authentication in France to me here in the States. Beautiful Gucci bag...thrown in a too small box...with absolutely nothing. No tissues, bubble, no wrap. Nothing. Just the bag. No order information. So disappointed and disgusted. Chat CS zero help. Will not touch this platform again with a ten foot pole. Buyer beware.
