    高校生の時に聴きまくったなぁコレ。
    変な色が無い埃にまみれた灰褐色のパワーバイオレンスで、まるで燻し銀のスワンプロックでも聴いてるみたい。
    後世に残る事を願う名盤。

    These guys need to write a book on how to engineer a genre

    • @jsheissekopf4407
      @jsheissekopf4407 Před 4 lety +11

      You shouldnt need a book to enjoy/ find your own sound. It stems from rejecting trends and just letting your various influences do their thing. Inventing a genre has a low point too , because it means that so many people try to a copy a sound that said genre eventually implodes with an overpopulation of what ends up being many cliche sounding bands.. eventually dragging the whole genre into the can.
      No one could ever come close to these guys' sound though, thankfully :)

      Flipper is my fave 80s punk band and MITB my fave 90s punk band. both bands were totally full of contradictions (with Flipper the fact that they were playing slow, often to and with kids half their age, and singing philosophically and often positively about life while living druggy nihilistic lives, etc; with MITB the fact that most of the music is based in prog rock instead of punk and the espousing of radical love and at the same time violence against bootleggers and politicians). both bands were incredibly smart, pushed the ideas of punk beyond it's bounds and were completely unconcerned with pleasing the their audiences. best of the best. of the best.

    I had this when I was a kid and couldn't decipher the damn name / title.
    Charred Remains A.K.A "Man Is The Bastard" - Sum Of The Men "The Brutality Continues..." LP.
    It reads like a split LP. It's usually a bad sign when a band needs 2 name for both themselves and/or their record.
    Too complicated and annoying; I skipped it and got into No Comment instead.

    Lo-Fi production can sound fantastic with the right kind of band. Man is The Bastard is not the right kind of band. The music is ridiculously sludgy, but the guitar and bass sound lack the thickness that makes sludgy music hit so hard.
