- My 150+ km journey exploring through deep jungle and river crossings as i try to complete route 23, solo in the middle of wet season. My last minute decision to take this route left me ill-prepared for what i would have to overcome. With not enough food and no way of filtering water, it may not have been the wisest decision. Travelling through war pummelled Laos with bombed out bridges and unexploded ordnance.
That is adventure cycling. Well done for making the effort.
Cheers mate, was a last minute decision
Great work with the drone mate. Some spectacular video of the area.
Cheers mate, my travelling companion the "Falcon" is also great to use when your lost or need to see something over the next hill
Always take care of yourself as much as you can sending my healthy hugs to you
Top stuff Lee!!! Best part... the cow shit spray on bike! lol
🤣
Massive respect as I just did the short section from Salavan from Muang Toumlan on my Africa Twin...and that was enough for me:) People were very cool along on the way. great spot
Yeah cheers mate was pretty intense 5 days, people were absolutely wonderful
OK, I'm renaming this to The Lynx, the Falcon, and one crazy persistent Aussie. :-) An amazing video blog. An amazing intense trek brother. Maybe see you today at AA Fantasy for a beer and a feed.
Cheers moite
This one has been on my list for a while! Looks incredibly tough, but worth it in many ways.
Do you have any resources you could share about the trail? Do you have any maps, GPX files, websites, articles?
Would love to know about your own research that you did before tackling this!
Yes definitely alot tougher during wet season I'm sure. I don't have any maps or gpx files. Took this route as a last minute decision. Salavan to Phin. No reception out there for at least 3 days. Just be sure to take a compass, enough food for 5 days and water filtration and you'll be alright. Ohh and definitely worth it, best of luck.
@@Lynx-and-the-Falcon - Thanks mate! I'll be leaving Australia in April to do some long term touring. Hope to catch you out there one day! 👍
"Prang chekoot" means farang mad in Khmer. Gutsy effort mate. Did you consider doing this trip in the dry season?
Ahhhh that's what they were yelling at me 🤣. No, was last minute decision to do this route, so I thought let's just go for it.
Some uh, interesting bridges to cross there, Lee. 🙂
🤣
👍👍👌👌⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐✌✌❗❗
👌🤜🤛🙏
much respect mate, just came in on the feed so need to catch up but wondering .. are you a veteran?
Cheers buddy, no I'm not a veteran. Just enjoy exploring, solitude and a bit of a challenge
I know what they are likely yelling. 555
Come to think of it....you're probably right 555
You OK mate? Not heard from you in a while.
Yes thanks mate, just been bmx banditing it around bangkok and Krabi
Good one, thought you may have still been deep in Laos.

Yes, thought it best to come back to Thailand and wait out the wet season. Might make camping more enjoyable.
