Chris, Dom and Matt were at the same highschool. Chris was their junior. They're well aware of each other. Matt joined Dom's band first. Then when other members left, Dom and Matt invited Chris to join them as Chris band didn't work well. Chris was serious to be in a band but other members in his band weren't. So the universe just did its great work to unite him with Dom and Matt.
I love how they all had different backgrounds too. Dom was the grunge kid with long hair, Matt was the quiet nerd who hung out in the music room, Chris was a football obsessed who played drums. They stuck together because, unlike others, they took music seriously.
