The clavicytherium, made by Paolo Zerbinatti, follows the general format of the instrument preserved in London at the Royal College of Music Museum (?South German, c. 1480), an instrument that has unfortunately survived in a somewhat modified and distorted state.
The keyboard has 39 keys, with a range from F2 to A5 [actual pitch extension F3-A6].
Beautiful music played with a wonderful instrument. Thanks for your video! 🎵🎼🎹🎶
Thank you for the appreciation
Thank you for showing the notation! It looks like ancient Chinese
Josquin transfers surprisingly well to this instrument. This is really lovely and poetic. I really enjoyed it.
Thankyou very much for appreciation
What a stunning instrument! And playing!
Thankyou, arjenbij!
Una meraviglia ❤ prof.ssa !!!! Ci catapulta in un mondo magico ed elegante.
Grazie, cara Pamela!
To have such an instrument to hand for some of Andrea Antico's intabulations!
It fits perfectly!
Wat een prachtige klank in dat instrument en wat een mooie muziek.
Thank you very much!
Gorgeous piece and performance. My favorite style and temperament.

Que maravilla. Gracias, gracias
Thank you so much!
Amazing!
Thankyou!
wow..
He was known to be an incandescent genius of music, at Bach level talent. He was called "the master of the modes".
We would know more of this composer if the music was closer to the modern taste bud. But that's like complaining that more people should read Chaucer in the original English
I think it's a matter of habits. In the same way that we can appreciate works of visual art from past centuries, we can also appreciate their music and literature.
Thanks, for a few moments I can get happiness
Giving happiness gives meaning to my work, to my life. Thank you very much!
Very nice! Which tuning are you using for this performance? You've clearly tuned it very carefully, and the tuning is very appealing, sounding something like quarter-comma meantone temperament.
Thankyou so much for the tuning appreciation. As you noticed, it is actually quarter-comma meantone temperament.
@@vaniadalmaso Great, I have just added this video to my "Music performed in meantone tuning" CZcams playlist. I also showed one of your videos to my high school English class here in Ohio, USA an hour ago (explaining the instrument to them, since not every young person is familiar with the harpsichord, let alone one of your instrument's design).
@@dbadagna Thankyou very much indeed for for adding my video to your playlist and for showing it to the students!
Music and instrument looks to be a long lasting marriage
I sincerely hope so!
Gorgeous!
Thankyou very much!
Meraviglioso!❤
Grazie! 🙏❤
I love You
Cute Harpsichord, it sounds an Octave higher than written
True! The pitch is A=880
@@vaniadalmaso So it's pitched at A=440 (Modern Pitch) but in the 4' Octave.
@@RockStarOscarStern634 exactly!
Very nice =)
Thankyou for appreciation :-)
The details of the keyboard.

Thankyou!
the clavicytherium sounds pretty good
Thankyou!
What is the strange shorthand in the written music please?
“Adieu mes amours” is a 4 voices chanson, here ‘entabulated’, i.e. put in a polyphonic score for a keyboard instrument. Each polyphonic voice has its separate row. The cantus is written in mensural notation in the upper staff, the other voices (altus, tenor, bassus) are written by letters (indicating the pitches) and other symbols for the duration.
❤️💕💕
stunning instrument!
do you play directly from the intabulation? I wish I knew how to properly read it.
Thankyou very much for your appreciation!
Reading from intabulation is a matter of practice. For convenience I read from a modern edition: Keyboard Intabulations of Music by Josquin des Prez, ed. Thomas Warburton. ‘Recent Researches in the Music of the Renaissance’, xxxiv. A-R Editions, Madison, 1980
@@vaniadalmaso I see. Thank you very much for the response! I might try to get a copy to play on my clavichord :))

Hello mam i wanna know if someone wants to purchase then how much money should we have to buy this for example only mam and your playing is fabulos
Salve. Stupenda esecuzione
Proverò a pensarci.
Grazie a lei!

Cool looking harpsichord. Is it a special tuning?
Thankyou! The instrument is tuned with the meantone temperament.
What is that? Sounds great! 👏👏👏👍
Do you mean what instrument is that? It is a clavicytherium: www.vaniadalmaso.it/clavi/citerio/
how does the jack return when a key is released? On a harpsichord it's just done via gravity but that of course isn't possible when they move horizontally.
the jacks are attached to the rod that rises from the rear end of the key key and return by gravity when the key is released
Have a look here: museumcollections.rcm.ac.uk/collection/Details/collect/1062
"keylever, sticker and jack form a rigid assembly. The balance point of the key is so arranged that a small downward movement results in a proportionally larger forward movement of the jack"
Rubber bands which Al Gore invented just before he invented the Internet.
I bet this is what the medieval era sounded like
This is renaissance, but check out Guillame Mauchat and/or Francesco Landini for medieval music.
I bet less well in tune.
Que instrumento es ese.??
The instrument is a clavicytherium. If you want to know more, have a look here: www.vaniadalmaso.it/clavi/citerio/
Изумительно!
Grazie!
Sort of an inverted, upright clavecin, or as we say "harpsichord".
Sort of like a harpsichord built specifically for Dutchmen who live in 4 foot wide houses. 🙂
Temperature 440
Exactly!
SIDEWAYS PIANO
Bro wtf are those hieroglyphs below the staff
Perfect instrument for people that live in a closet.
It's bad to listen to this intoned tuning. I know it's tuned that way on purpose, but I still prefer logarithmic tuning.
This is the proper tuning for this music...
@@vaniadalmaso I know. Only this limits the freedom of changing chords. Equalized tuning is a very good invention. 😁😁😁
@@zongihangi11 In this piece there is not much changing of chords, so meantone is perfect for this.
