    Thanks for the video. Love that you state there is a difference between silver and gray.... For those who don't want to sand the line off, you can use masking tape.

    How long did it take to smash it flat, it tried for ten minutes and barely dent made

    use a sand bag under the spoon it will retain the shape mostly and still support enough, not as crisp indentations though

    Thanks for the tutorial - I've been wanting to try this for ages! Now you've given me an idea as to how to go about it. I strained my eyes to see what size your stamps were but I couldn't make it out? How big should the lettering be for spoons? (I thought yours was a 3 or 5 mm)?? Thanks again :)

    Hi Michelle,
    What brand stamps do you use? I used some & they barely left an imprint and were then worn & wouldn't leave an impression on other metal. Only stamped them a couple of times & ruined my brand new hibiscus stamp :-(

    I understand now that silver plate cutlery is better, but it's also more expensive & harder to find. The stainless I get is just from the op shop at 10 cents a piece :-), but I don't think they'd be real keen on me testing it out by bending it! hehehe
    So have your stamps gone blunt? I wasn't game to try my letter stamps after the hibiscus was ruined, so perhaps it's more the design stamps. I've done a bit of research & most say any economy stamps or ImpressArt stamps won't handle stainless.

    Do you hurt your fingers a lot? My fiancee wants to give these out as party favors for our wedding guests (170) with our monogramed initials. Is she crazy? Will it take forever to make that many in two months time? She wants to help, will she hurt her fingers? Thanks!

    Just put it on a carved wood shape of the spoon instead of a flat surphace.

    Do you know how to stamp spoons without flattening the spoon out? I have seen beautiful stamped silverware on etsy, and have wanted to create some for myself. But all the tutorials I find shows jewelry or flattened spoons.

    Would a grease pencil work to draw your line with?

      +jarringcreations I've never tried it, but I don't see why not. Also, if you're trying to avoid scratching up the surface of your spoon with a piece of sand paper...I've learned that you can skip the sandpaper and use a Q-tip dipped in nail polish remover. Just be real careful not to soak the surface of your spoon, if the polish remover sits in the stamp indents it will also remove the sharpie marks that you want to keep :{
