      Just found your channel, lot of good info. 👍
      I was in Austin last year looking around, I might be moving there. Do you recommend Georgetown, Leander or Cedar Park ?
      I'm in the $350K range to buy a place. What about New Braunsfels? Is that a place with lower crime and congestion?
      Thanks. ☺

    • @AustinTexasLiving
      @AustinTexasLiving  Před 3 lety

      Hi William - thank for the feedback! I'm glad you like the videos! For the $350k price I really like new construction and new construction is exploding in Georgetown. Plus Georgetown has a cool downtown area with lots of shops, wineries, restaurants etc... Crime is about the same in all of those areas. There's less going on in New Braunfels, so less traffic for sure.

    There are desirable areas south of Austin. New Braunfels is on the outside of Austin’s commuting zone. Great amenities in NB (rivers, music, shopping, parks) Check out Landa Park and Gruene. There is a new master planned community (Veramendi) with it’s own school, hiking trails and parks.

    I'm waiting on a job offer letter for an Austin company. I lived in Austin back in 2011-2012. If I come back I'm thinking of living in Leander or Georgetown. I see that both cities are having new construction homes and have grown since 2012. Also with the company being off 183 makes the commute easy. Bee Cave could be an option seeing how its under 30 mins to the company on 183 using 360. Oh and I'm currently working in Chicago living in the suburbs. We have 4.95% income tax and property taxes range from 2.75-3.50%.

      @AustinTexasLiving  Před 3 lety

      That's awesome - congratulations! I love Georgetown for the new construction, the square downtown and the parks. But I like Bee Cave for the same reasons - if you want to be closer to the lakes, I would lean towards Bee Cave. Chicago taxes - yikes. Our property tax rates are pretty similar to yours right now, but at least we don't have income tax! When would you be looking to move?
