About Hearst Tower
The Hearst Tower is a 597 feet (182 m) and 46 stories high building at the southwest corner of 57th Street and Eighth Avenue in Manhattan - New York City. The facade is made of a steel grid with glass fillings in a triangular shape. The Hearst Tower is built on a six-story base from 1928. Originally, a multi-story superstructure was supposed to rise on top of it, but the economic crisis hit and the completion was postponed. Cost of building was $500 million. The tower was designed by Norman Foster and was completed in 2006.
