It's hard to sympathize with the very few people who might need to move out of this project's way. It has been delayed far too long and will benefit millions of people for many years to come.
However, I agree with those who want Governor Hocul to reinstate the plans for congestion pricing. The New York State motto is "Excelsior" which means "ever upward", yet she seems to want New York to go backwards.

"There's a better way" yet these people never tell you "the better way" so weird.

It’s all a formality, the city will get what it wants in time. Residents protested about the Barclays and yet that stadium now sits where they once lived.

Those against it, I'm sorry, but that tunnel is needed. There's no way around that. The city has to move forward, you will have to be displaced. Can't stall the project again with how bad the old tunnel is getting. Last thing you'd want is to be blamed for delaying the construction if the old one fails. Time is of the essence.

Better in the long run. States have sacrificed a lot for short term goals and the old structures are crumbling all around

Eminent Domain will override the protests unless the protests are large and sustained.
If the benefits to the community outweigh the cost of the project, it's a good thing but the project managers need to relocate and make whole the families and businesses affected as part of the projects cost...Eminent Domain will get a better rap if it generously compensates the landowner for their loss. I speak from personal experience and no I don't feel I was adequately compensated. Book value for land you never wanted to sell is not a just compensation, in my eyes for an old logging camp that had also been a homestead and a general store. It was my hunting camp, there was a bar that served food not 100 yards from the mile long 2-rut driveway and a snowmobile trail that went past the cabin to the bar. The property 120 acres of forested land was in the middle of an area that is now dotted with hunting lodges, campgrounds and other outdoor recreational attractions. I really do miss it. Now, there's a power generating substation on the property that emits a humming sound very reminiscent of Tinnitus 24-7.

hope i'm far away and don't even see this move along as i know it'll be dirty in record time in 2035 or whatever it's complete!
