You're the only one on the entire web to mention that the x16 with the 3060 doesn't have the mini-LED, not even the official Asus store mentions it, and all stores selling it in the specs say 3060 and mini-LED. Thank you

For me, I really would've chosen the X13 for the portability but the 3050 doesn't cut it for my work.
So I have no option but to go for the X16.
I could've gotten the XG Mobile with the X13, but that defeats the purpose of portability lol...
I hope Asus releases a X14 or X15 sometime in the future that can have mix of both performance and portability!

Unfortunately, I don't think they're going to have an X14 or X15. Seems like everything is going either 13 or 16 inches only.
I guess the best alternative is the Zephyrus G14.
Great video. Thank you. I needed a review of the X16. Although external accessories are used wireleslly in most use cases these days. So I don't see the USB placement to be that big an issue.

This is one of the better reviews I have seen so far. Your arguments are all very solid, other reviewers talk about things that aren't relevant but I have actually been bothered by that placement of the USB ports. I'm going to need a wireless mouse or a USB-C dongle to use my mouse without being bothered by that port. If you get the x16, you might be able to just use the x13's charging brick for portability but that USB-C charger would need to be purchased separately.
I needed the X13 but it seems that this end of the year isn't the best time to buy any laptop.. I hope they release something better for X13 or better off X14 next year with better cards
same situation, have the cash ready but just don't know should i just spend it or wait for newer version

How long have u own x16?How is the hinge after a long term usage? If it somehow get loose can you tighten it easily without disassembling the laptop? Have u enable usb 4.0 via bios update, works fine? I read in reddit, many reported bdos crash, sleep problem, do u experience any?

After much deliberation, I've decided to get the Flow X13 bundled with the XG Mobile (RX 6850M XT) instead.
Yes you'll lose the nebula display. Yes you'll lose upgradability points.
But considering how I use a computer on a daily basis, the X13 is the most realistic choice.
On weekdays,
My job consists of online pre-production meetings, and editing video projects where most of them are in 4K with pretty complex sets of effects.
And the 6900hs + RTX 3050 Ti + (soldered) 32GB of DDR5 combo has more than enough power for my complex 4K editing on the move.
On weekends,
It's game time. I never play games outside of my own desk. So I left all the power at home.
What upgradeable options are in X16?
Can you use an USB-Hub for the X13 for a display, mouse, and power in it's usb-C port? Or is that locked to the EGPU accessory?
You can use any hubs like those Ugreen dongles with HDMI output.
Or just use a USB-C to DisplayPort cable.

Not that straightforward lol. In terms of pure raster performance, should be better on the XG Mobile 3080, but I think it won't be significant.
But if the games you play support DLSS 3 with frame generation, then the RTX 4070 will be better.
Is the X13 with QHD+ better as display ? I can found the config: 32 RAM and 8 VRAM (laptop GPU) only with QHD+ display ... so annoying

Thank you for your good comparison. In my opinion need to understand the reasons for the use. In desktop repleacement x 13 with xg mobile is better. For normal use x 16 have better performance but less portability. I have x13 and i m happy for my choose because i use the laptop or with an external 4k monitor or use like a tablet.
Pretty much yes, but the XG Mobile being an annoyance makes me not to consider it as a combo to replace a desktop.
Nice review and same dilemma, portability vs. having already a relatively beefy laptop also for travelling. Unfortunately, X13 has no upgrade options, beside putting the external GPU on it. Was actually hoping Asus comes out with some X14.5 (still small). Otherwise, after my Asus G752, everything below 6 kilos is much welcome, and getting into the age of keeping some bigger screen, X16 might be a perfect compromise. Otherwise, the X16 doesn't need even an external GPU, so it's a bit a weird concept, except having a full docking station for home use, so just one plug and the laptop is connected (after one minute, as I check in the other video).
Honestly for the X16, the only reason why I'd get the official dock is because it can get the laptop at its full power. Otherwise I'll get a KVM to plug everything into the laptop with a single cable but will still require the original charger to get the full power out of the laptop.
Still a dilemma but it's an option

You literally made it a 10-minute video supposedly saying which is better, yet at the end of the video you just say... if you want a smaller one get the smaller one, if you want a bigger one get the bigger one. Scratching my head
I've watched so many videos. Can someone please tell me in plain language whether the asus x16 (or the x13 for that matter) laptop will run my games without the mobile gpu. I don't want and cant afford the mobile gpu. but I want a 2in1 that I might as well be able to play games on. thanks
What are the games you want to play?
Games like tomb raider, horizon dawn, red dead 2, etc. For the resolution all I care about is that it is not horrible. I don't care if its like 4k super amazingly smooth graphics, like I just want something that is okay. I was looking for a 2n1 because I just got a gaming desktop but having a laptop is really nice and so is having a tablet. I had a Lenovo - IdeaPad 15.6" Laptop which worked awesome but not for gaming. and I had an Ipad mini 3. I got rid of both of those because I would like to upgrade to a 2n1. It would be cool to have a 2n1 that also was able to at least fortnite you know? :)@@NasiLemakTech
@@myheroskryptonite My guy, you'll be fine with either laptop. The X16 will be better in this case but also a lot heavier and bigger compared to the X13. But yeah both these laptops can handle the games you want to play

Yeah, I agree. X16 seems to be defeating the main purpose of portability of the X13

Would be grateful to get your opinion :) Because x13 is so cool i can't wait to get it haha, at the same time a lot of people have been telling me that currently, it's not the best time to get any laptop T . T

I have to say, the RTX 40-series GPUs will definitely take quite a few more months before it will be announced.

@@adityasharma6579 x16 is great,powerful, slim, light and quiet in daily use，its screen is so good. Well you cant really use it as a tablet， because it is too heavy to hold in hand.
Tbh I still prefer x13 design but its screen just too bad...

@@sakibkhan5383possibly depends if you are referring to x13 2022 version or the x13 that got released earlier, maybe a year or two ago. Be a little careful to which x13 you are referring to.
