At the time of this VOD. I had 35 Vanguard set, 22 Weapon, and am 1624. I've also received an overwhelming amount of flame for going Vanguard over Crit Damage. I do plan on cutting a Crit Damage Helm and Gloves if they ever appear and I can manage to get enough for 35 or 40 set, etc. Fun fact about the Elixir system (it sucks and is RNG) so you can aim for either set as a Pistoleer. Yes, Vanguard requires activation via the spacebar, but anyone that actually mains Pistoleer won't have an issue since you're always hitting Spacebar before you cast abilities anyway. At some point I'll put a VOD out showing the damage differences between Critical 40 and Vanguard 40 so people can calm down.

Having 4 points in your counter with the swiftness tripod is game changer imo (i removed grenade from 12 to 11)
What about it is a game changer for you? Like you're having an easier time getting counters?
@@nullen I feel like the skill without the tripod is way too clunky, if u never used the tripod before you probably can't tell but after u use it you never go back but at the end of the day is just personal preference, other thing that I do is using the tenacity tripod in Death Fire, for two reasons, allows me to survive and save me in hard situations and the main reason u can greed a lot of damage with it (paralysis imunity is "required" for Thaemine g4 anyway) but then again, it's all about personal preference.
Yeah, I like that flexibility for Deathfire for sure. I think if Grenade didn't do so much damage then I could rationalize dropping a point off. I think if I was Raid Captain build it'd be a no brainer to take it since Spiral does 50% less than Grenade.@@JPedroHN

I'm using a bracelet with spec 86 crit 95 and hammer (+10% crit dmg) and I thought it was a good one cuz of the +crit dmg. Now I see it's not that great xD
Also the only downside I see playing pistoleer is that he's very very squishy, maybe it's only me idk. But sometimes I can't stand on how much dmg I'm getting xD
This guide is slightly dated as for Thaemine I'd recommend actually going Raid Captain so you can run Quick Pace on Spiral instead of Cursed. But I do mention that in this guide briefly. Squishiness can be a problem if you go into fights at item level. This applies to any classes that don't have shields or damage reduction abilities. So make sure you overhone a little bit for the content you need to farm.

Any reason why Tenacity on Death Fire isn't being run? I personally really enjoy using Death Fire with that tripod as a way to save myself from a push attack when in a pinch. Or is Swift Fingers really that important?
Tenacity is definitely a situational option. If you aren't comfortable with a fight that has a knock off mechanic then I'd definitely run it (I ran it during Valtan Extreme prog for instance). However, if you run a lvl 5 Swift Fingers during a raid you're going to quickly notice how big of a difference it is on the ability -- which is why you want to default run it. The faster you can get your damage abilities off the more uptime and damage you're doing. For me, running anything other than Swift Fingers feels like slow motion, so there needs to be a very intentional reason to swap away from it.
I cut a 9 PD 7 ADR stone on my pistoleer alt, do you think its worth building lvl 2 adrenaline and lvl 3 propulsion or something else for that matter if i have precise/circulate on bracelet? or would it still be sketchy?
I think if you can make up for the Crit loss on your Bracelet by going Spec/Crit/Precise then you'd be in really good shape. You'll just lose out on that bit of Swiftness. Then get a really high quality neck so the Crit is as high as possible there as well.
hello nullen how are you my friend :) ? nullen i have a question i really like the skill "Dexterous Shot" because of the mobility it gives to the pj, from the buid you have which skill would you replace it with "Dexterous Shot"?
Dexterous Shot can't be used as a Pistoleer. You can use it if you run EW and put 4 points in it. But the old Pistoleer build used to have it until they gave us Desperado. Dexterous does zero DMG. If they put a counter on it then you could use it in place of Enforced.
I've watching a lot of pistoleers saying they doesn't run CJ , can you tell me why they say " GaleWinds " are better then CJ's ? Im a new pistoleer and i rly want to know what to choose and their differences , thank's for the video :P
Great question. I like running C&J for the CDR on all abilities that follow (which includes the massive awakening the Pistoleer has). To me, this feels better and I like lining the awakening up with it. Especially since we now have more than 3 awakenings per fight. I don't think you need to run Galewinds if you are running Cursed Doll or Raid Captain on anything other than Deathfire and Meteor Stream. I run Quick Recharges on the double taps of Quick Shot and Cruel Tracker (which some people debate on the double proc -- I've seen it proc on both taps so I'm a believer). Then Conviction on Desperado and Judgment on Equilibrium. Which are abilities that 100% guarantee both of the buffs. So you have full control over when you want to apply the buff.
If you were running Mass Increase, I could see Galewinds being something people would require on Quick Shot and Cruel Tracker (as well as Meteor and Deathfire) -- as Mass Increase makes everything feel sluggish and the playstyle less smooth. So to counter act that I've seen people do that + adding swift on the neck (which redundantly removes the dmg increase difference between Mass Increase and Cursed Doll). Then they run Quick Recharges on Desperado and Equilbirum.
I honestly don't see the alternative as being better because I'm still using two Quick Recharges (but they can proc 4x) on top of the CDR from C&J.
@@nullen Alright , so overall CJ will be much better in long raids because of the Awakening Skill, and galewinds only when running Mass Increase witch is an engraving no one uses on Pistoleer ..

You said the word "crit damage cap" a couple times. Is there literally a cap or are you just saying we're well above the point that diminishing returns make additional crit damage sources devalued to the point that other options are better?
Exactly, being capped just means diminishing returns.
You want to avoid doing things like Hammer only on your Bracelet, Keen Blunt Weapon, etc. because of the diminishing returns. Entropy users run into the same issue.
An easier thing to have said would be, "Act like you're an Entropy character due to the Specialization." Which is something to note for the next version. =)
What stone is best to cut?
You typically want to go with whatever your +2 is that you're aiming for and then one of your +3 engravings.
So for 5x3+2 assuming Propulsion for your +2 (aim for a 7 [7/9 stone] or 10 [10/6 stone] and Cursed Doll / Grudge / Precise Dagger / Adrenaline as the 9 or 6 if you get super lucky with the stone.
For 5x3+1 you can get away with something like a 7/7 stone and that stone can be any of your 5x3 engravings.
I typically just keep note of relic stones my Pistoleer uses and then mail everything possible to my main so I can get more attempts in.
Then you build your accessories around the stone. You can use a tool like this once you get the stone cut: loa-todo.com/engrave

that just difrent betwen EP is useless when in guardian raid you die there no more stack or you have colect stack again but that better if you really good as pistoleer pick EP in for raid than Propulsion

I'm not fully sure what you're saying, but as I mentioned in the video Ether Pred gets frustrating because you lose the stacks between gates in Legion Raids. You get a brief opportunity to get a few stacks (on your way to needing 30 to get the full buff) when there's trash and then if there's a wipe you lose them all.
So you're not getting the full effect of the Ether Pred buff until the latter end of the fight. Whereas Propulsion you're getting the 3% (lvl 1) or 8% (lvl 2) from the moment you press Spacebar on a Pistoleer. Which makes it better and more damage over the course of a fight since it's active immediately.
Yes, if you could use a battle item and put 30 stacks of Ether Pred at the start of every single fight then it'd be better than Propulsion. But that's not how it works.
Ether Pred is also good for progging because you'll have a little more defense toward the end of the fight.

I think the highest ceiling is still Deathblade. It continues to rule the top of the charts every patch. Outside of that if you want simple and OP then Pred Slayer seems pretty busted and straight forward.

In your stat distribution, it shows 1800 spec, 600 crit, and 200 swift. How? I know the answer is that you're in Trixion and have manipulated the stats, but why do it in trixion just for your parse if you can't recreate it in a real raid scenario?
Yeah, I do that in Trixion because it's more for me to stay consistent with all the testing I've done on the character in the past and ongoingly. Gives me a consistent look at where I'm at. Cause I may change an accessory here and there, etc. Same thing with gems, I have like 4 lvl 10 gems and the rest 9's. So I just 10 out the gems to keep it consistent.
Currently my stats are odd variations below each of those since I don't have perfect quality everything.
Then in a raid setting we have people in the Discord that are bible-oligists that keep everyone updated on their latest scriptures.
Raid setting numbers are also wayyy different than Trixion since you have buffs from two others + support buffs + cards + books + atrophine + darks, boss mechs, and so on.
Do you think its worth upgrading a lvl 9 cd gem on desperado to lvl 10? currently have all lvl 9 cds, all lvl 10 dmg gems minus grenade. or would the gold be better spent towards a lvl 10 dmg gem on grenade?
I highly recommend getting it. You'll definitely notice a difference. Gate 2 of Ivory Tower also becomes absolutely hilarious.
Pretty sure cruel tracker isn’t a double proc for quick recharge
All combo abilities are multi-proc. Similarly you get a triple proc opportunity on Mobile Shot as a AT Scouter. Also why it's recommended to put purify on a multi-tap skill. Enforced Execution works great in this way as it's also a double tap, so you get two chances for Purify to proc.
@@nullen is this 100%? I remember reading/testing chain skills have multi proc but combo don’t. I could be wrong but I’m pretty sure that’s true
I'm 100% certain that Quick Shot, Cruel Tracker, and Enforced Execution can proc runes on the first or second tap. I've purified myself thousands of times in Akkan Gate 1 on my main with the both the dash only, and then also purposely pressing the follow up attack on Enforced Execution when I noticed the 1st part didn't cleanse me.
With Quick Recharge you have a low % chance of doing it, but you can get a double proc on any of these skills. To give you more certainty I went into Trixion and had Rage proc the 1st tap, then kept resetting the skill until it did the same on the 2nd tap on all 3 of the skills.
Thats interesting, i tried testing in trixion and could never get a rage proc on the 2nd cast of any combo skill, but chain skills which give 2 stacks of adren while combo giving one would proc on 2nd cast@@nullen
