Definitely the most fun class in the game. Smoothest gameplay imo. It's why I main it.

I've been running spiral in Thaemine to avoid spacebar desync and to take quick pace for the movement speed for g2 and g3. In general, you can run it if you want to reduce your spacebar then take focus shot lvl 5 instead. Default is always the crit syn and triple stack. I run grenade for stagger heavy fights and to min max DMG. So I switch all the time between the two. For Echidna I'm running Grenade.

@@Matyouloid With Pistoleer you need to Spacebar between your damage abilities to apply Reckless Assault -- Giving you a CDR and Atk Speed buff. Multi-Hit Pistoleer abilities reduce the CD of your Spacebar's availability. So Spiral being thrown out does multiple hits reducing your spacebar's CD. It's why I take it for prog (cause I'm dodging more for safety) and for certain fights I know I'm going to need it more. Spiral does half the dmg and 1/3 the stagger of Grenade, but having Spacebar available for every rotation increases your overall dmg if you're avoiding desync. So when you're doing damage if you notice you don't have any spacebars, but big dmg dealing skills up, that's a moment of de-sync.

Currently, for Thaemine I've been using Pistoleer, Grudge, Adrenaline, Precise Dagger, Cursed Doll and Ether +1. But I'd swap Cursed for Raid Captain since I use Spiral now to help reduce spacebar de-sync and can take the quick pace tripod on it. There's a RaidCaptain gigachad guide on my channel you can check out for details on the +2 and skills. Then go full spec with 2ndary crit. Hallucination set.

By default you'll run Hallucination unless you have a Crit Syn in your party then you go Salvation. Critical Elixirs. Then I personally swap between Moving Slash and Bladestorm based on how comfortable I am with the mechanics of a fight. So dash vs. no dash and more dmg. Engravings: Deathstrike, Grudge, Hit Master, Cursed Doll, Keen Blunt, and Adren +1

I'll try it out. Seems like it had a delay, but that'd be great to free a rune up.

This guide is slightly dated as for Thaemine I'd recommend actually going Raid Captain so you can run Quick Pace on Spiral instead of Cursed. But I do mention that in this guide briefly. Squishiness can be a problem if you go into fights at item level. This applies to any classes that don't have shields or damage reduction abilities. I'd recommend Raid Captain and go Spiral with Quick Pace to reduce the amount of spacebar de-sync you're getting. Since you need more spacebars to save yourself from critical wounds on gate 3, it helps a lot to reduce the cd of spacebar with spiral vs. the grenade (cursed doll build). I did recently put out a vod for the 5x3+2 build to shoot for which includes both Raid Captain and Cursed Doll: czcams.com/video/oGqhVx9svvE/video.html But if you were 5x3+1 I'd go Raid Captain with +1 Propulsion / Ether Pred. Currently I'm Cursed Doll with +1 Propulsion and was trying to hold out for my +2 stone, which doesn't seem like it's happening anytime soon.

How many spec do you have? you seems to be able to go 'wheelchair' more often than me

You're welcome! Something I've been trying lately that differs from the vod is putting Conviction on the Raid Missiles and Judgment on Strategic Fire instead of Avalanche. What this does gameplay wise is frees up Avalanche to be paired with Baby Drones toward the end of the rotation (Roll > Missiles > SF > EB > Roll > Annihilation > BD > Ava) . Since Avalanche is your one counter, it being available for longer gives you more chances to help get counters. It's one of the downsides of the class (in either Evo or AT) is they put main damage abilities on the one counter the class gets.

If you're comfortable with Pistoleer and want to optimize things for end game I'd go Raid Captain so you can run Spiral with Quick Pace and get the most out of the build. So Pistoleer, Grudge, Raid Captain, Precise Dagger, Adrenaline then +1 can be Propulsion or Ether Pred. I prefer Propulsion over Ether cause Ether stacks drop all the time and are annoying to rebuild back up. But it is better for prog since it gives defense. So dealer's choice there.

It really depends on what your expectations are coming into the game. They do a good job with catchup mechanics to get you a character to the point of being able to do "homework or farmed content." The gameplay of this game is why everyone loves playing this game. The combat is great and a lot of the mechanics in fights are clever. They also teach you mechanics over the course of the entire game that make appearances later. However, everyone in the game struggles doing the present end-game content -- myself included. Which is why everyone believes there's tremendous pressure to RMT -- spend actual money on the game. So you can get access to doing the hardest content in the game. But the hardest content in the game is also extremely hard. So just because you buy a full decked out character doesn't mean you're going to clear the content... But if you avoid FOMO, take your time, enjoy doing the dailies and casually running the marathon of building up your characters then it's a great game to enjoy. Especially on a social level if you can find fun people to play with. You can do Chaos Dungeons x2 in about 6 minutes, Guardian raids in about 5 min, and then farmed legions typically take 30 - 60 min to do.

@@CulturedHeaven It is P2W if you want to do the hardest stuff that is presently in the game. But I think the game is fun as a F2P player, which is why I still play and care about the game. My hope is that they'll try to tailor more to the F2P people and punish the RMTers so that the game can feel healthier and balanced.

Off the top of my head it's Lawmaker Chest and the Bunny Hoodie from the SH. Then #000a11 for the dark coloring and I just randomly eye the blue in the few spots it shows up.

I'm still thinking we'll be able to compete with Asura. I'm going to compare it directly to my Arty when the changes come and we'll see how they line up.

@@nullen I think it would be a damage increase. Desperado level 1 is flexible. Range is good cause it allows you to cast from further away when closing distance which is beneficial in raids. Attack speed is technically only a dps increase if you have both desperado cds up and roll would allow you to maintain raid captain without having to recast spiral which is another “gcd” related dps increase

Yeah, I'm not a fan. It makes the entire kit feel sluggish. Especially if you aren't playing the game with a support. Like in chaos dungeons, tower, quest line, etc. You can combat some of it with swift on neck, but you lose the extra damage gained from MI vs. CD with the loss of crit. Even with the swift neck it feels like slow motion to me. I made an engraving support Pistoleer to try all possible builds out in raids and mass increase was noticably slow.

@@nullen yeah i agree it feels a little sluggish, but the spacebar buff almost negates the attack speed reduction from MI. and since i dont have lv 10 CD gems i found that i was waiting for skills to come off cooldown frequently so the slower rotation was negligable. i also cut a 9/7 MI/CD stone so im kinda stuck with it xd.

@@slimja lol i see. yeah, i think people that haven't played a ton of the 'non mass increase' builds also don't notice it as much. as i've played Pistoleer since the game launched in NA i've only gone through Raid Captain and Cursed Doll as the main builds over that...2 year time period? so even though spacebar "negates" the MI, any small change in casting speeds/cdr, etc. makes me feel like i'm moving in slow-mo and also throws off the mindless muscle memory i've developed over that time. Gratz on the 9/7 stone btw!

also the Legendary "Quick Recharge" Rune have to be in Quick Shoot cause its an Chain Skill so you have ab doubble chance to trigger "Quick Recharge"

Thanks for the tip! So I took Deathfire into Trixion just now and I'm not seeing a consistently higher total damage from the ability. With the Fire tripod I'm capping out at about 28 - 37 million total damage. The flame dots critting or not critting seem to be a major deciding factor. Whereas the double bomb is consistently doing 34 to 39 million. I think the comparison is the Flame tripod (2nd row) to a 2nd Keen Shot Bomb (3rd row tripod). So 30% outgoing damage versus a second 100% bomb explosion. I definitely like the Ivory Tower Gate 1 situational use. I run 94% self crit with the exact build shown in the video. Losing Precise Dagger would take it down to 74%. Which doesn't sound like it'd be an improvement since all of a pistoleer's damage comes from the crit damage bonus from spec scaling. What is the 8% difference being compared to? In the vod I also explain that propulsion isn't reliable since it's a 4 sec uptime and in Thaemine you need to be more conservative with spacebars and then you still battle desync. So it doesn't feel like a great choice if you're doing end game.

Not possible. They made it so you can use battle items and sidreal, but no counter ability on that bar.

If you're referring to the guy raid leading throughout the vod, then yes. He's quite legendary.
