I have a large external filter similar to the one you have.... after you turn OFF the pump, open a faucet to relieve the pressure in the system. Mine came off easy after that!
Those big filters are a massive pain to deal with. The plastic housing has a habit of cracking with removal of the filter and even breaking when winterizing the unit. Highly recomment to replace the whole filter housing and not even mess with it anymore. You can get housings like that at home depot and lowes.
@@GeoProAdventures Youre welcome. They even have bypass kits for them as well. The Geo pro and Epro are amazing units but this is the one and only thing they dropped the ball on. I would also say to let the small filter dry a little bit after a good scrub then use some canned air like for blowing out keyboards the remove the rest of the debris.
I have the same RV. On mine I gained access through the front baggage compartment (remove the divider separating the compartment from the inside) then I had a LOT more room to loosen the filter. This makes it much easier to turn the supplied wrench. It also gives you much more room to turn the water valves for winter service. I got my geo pro after watching your first videos.
jerry clower Oh! Cool - I never thought to try it from that side -- and thanks for being a long time viewer - I really appreciate your support - happy trails! What state are you based out of?
I hold the top of it to secure it more. I know what your talking about that it feels like it's gonna break. Just hold the top of it and you'll be fine. Great job.i change mine every season. It's about $30.i looked everywhere for A cheaper one.
Hi Jason... Love your channel, u guys inspired me to buy the 19FSB a few weeks ago, I love it... That said take a 12” metal tube (or pvc) and place over handle to make it longer and it w take less force to remove it... Some tips: when u put it back on, use just a small amount of Vaseline on the threads... just a little, but it w keep it lubed so in 6 months I can change it with ease.... also, recommend crawling under camper and tightening every bolt to keep things from shifting and placing additional torque on components from shift... I’ve made several mods u w appreciate, reach out and we can chat... :-)
We had this happen in our 19FBS we just bought in June. Sounds like your system isn't priming. There's an adjustment screw on the pump. That was the adjustment they made to ours and all is ok now.
On my Geo Pro I got the large filter off just by pulling really hard, but you will definitely want a couple towels under there because it will spill a bunch of water. I think you really should change that large filter because it should be white colored, yours looks pretty grody. If you can't get it apart, replace the whole unit with a new one from Lowe's or Menards or some where that you can easily get replacement filters. The OEM brand of filters that go into that filter are overpriced. Surprised that little screen filter had so much yuck on it. 😬
So it seems the filter housing on the main filter is really tight, so you're going to have to get access enough to basically touch it with both hands, using the plastic wrench in one hand and either a giant pair of channel lock pliers or a 'strap wrench' that you might find at an auto parts store, or Harbor Freight or Tractor Supply type store in the other hand on the upper portion attached to the surface to keep the filter assembly attached to the camper. www.harborfreight.com/2-pc-rubber-strap-wrench-set-69373.html
Hi Jason! Somewhat unrelated but it has to do with water.... it would great if you could do a video on how to winterize the geo pro. You may not even need to do it but here in Colorado we are close to needing it, unfortunately. Thanks!
Have you ever had any of your lines freeze? Last night it got down to 27 degrees. This morning I couldn't get any water via pump. Hooked up to city water and all is well. So I think I have a something somewhere froze. Most all pipes are insulated or inside trailer. Found a small section that was exposed and I covered in pipe insulation. Or my pump is screwed.... But it sounds OK.
I have to do that this week. My dealer gave me a few tips. If they work, I will pass them along on Thursday. Meanwhile, what brand of shower head is that?
What tips they told you? I water pressure problem in travel trailer city water hooked up when I open any faucet I have pressure after couple of seconds it goes down to almost no water at all
Change all those hose clamps out to ones you can tighten up, believe me those that were put on when they built rv are the cheapest one’s they can put on to save themselves money. I guarantee you they will eventually start leaking.
Hi, do you guys run your refrigerator while driving down the road to the next camp? If so, what do you run it off? Propane? RV batteries? Or does it get powered off the tow vehicle?
We run it with propane and just leave it on 24/7 while driving and all times. If you’re heading to a campsite that has electric power, you can push the button on the fridge and set it to dual, so it will use electric while plugged in & switch back to propane when you unplug:) Happy Camping- Jason

jerry clower you’ve got the best state for off-grid hands down. I love that almost every rest area has a free Rv dump station.

What about your city water pressure? Did you have pressure issues or only when using the pump
Great info, now you might want to get the wife a new toothbrush before she sees this video lol.

Grant H Thank you SO much! Now that I know I can easily get a replacement filter, I’m less nervous about breaking this one trying to get it off:)
I couldn’t get mine off either. My Epro is in for service. I have asked them to take it off.

OMG...I didn’t even know those filters were under there!
Ours came well lubed with something like Vaseline on the threads where it screws up into the cap..
time to hit the road again, need more videos!!
Just got a 2021 G19FBS, want to upgrade our shower curtain. Where did you get yours? I love it
