Jeff Goldblum Breaks Down His Most Iconic Characters | GQ - Zábava
Happy to see Jeff is getting even more eccentric as he ages. He's a treasure.
Imagine a buddy movie with him and Christopher Walken!
@@lamalama9717 I would love that, on the other hand, it may be too much of wonderful eccentricity, better to have them doing one movie each = TWO wonderful movie moments for us 😁😁
Ages? I could swear his hair is the only thing about him that ages.
@@lamalama9717 yes!
@@lamalama9717 Toss Gary Busey in there and ya got yourself the Trifecta.
I love how Jeff Goldblum turns an interview all about himself and his career into him just praising and complimenting everyone he's ever worked with and barely focusing on himself at all. Jeff Goldblum is a national treasure.
also the fact that he remember EVERYONES full name... its extremely impressive. I barely remember my own full name.
@@feralshad0w you have a name? 😱
Haha JK
yeah, i forgot. He didn't talk about his method :'vv

How can they not list "Invasion of the Body Snatchers" (1978)
Jeff Goldblum was great in this movie, one of his top acting performances. 💯
I absolutely love that we now basically have confirmation that the character concept for the Grandmaster in Thor Ragnarok was just "Jeff Goldblum in Space"
I think at this point in his career and life…… you’re gonna want/get just “Jeff Goldblum at the Gym” or “Jeff at the zoo” whether one wants it on not lol
Guido & Ally, you BOTH are correct!
And that we’ll see more of Grandmaster
Awesome comment, you are right on the money!
I wish he had talked about Deep Cover-- the ultimate Jeff Goldblum deep cut!
Jeff Goldblum is the only person that can say the words “Phantasmagorial transmogrification” in a sentence and make it sound natural.
Zombies?
He never meet Paul Morgan Stetler
Goldblum, the living embodiment of thoughts needing to get out faster than your mouth can physically manifest them! Love it.
Robin Williams was like that as well.

I love Jeff. He’s like a comfort character, but real life.

@@extrm161 La componente stilistica è sicuramente di grande importanza per i cantanti, ancor più per un genere che necessita di forti identità e grande capacità di condivisione dei messaggi.
Couldn’t have said it better
@@mattygeno stop spamming others' videos. You have been reported.
@@ricshmitz83 You tagged the wrong person.
The thing that amazes me is how he remembers everyones name. Regardless of the production or department, I get the sense that he genuinely respects and cares about the people that he works with, no matter how long it's been. I could watch this all day.
Well, and I know I'm not supposed to say this, but most of the people he mentioned are fellow Chosen People and they're not very shy about their banding together.

@@jesperburns you really had to turn Jeff remembering people he works with into a anti-Semitic rant 🙄
He's that one guy that you can't even ask how he's doing without him jumping into a 1 hour monologue about some weird adventure he went on :D I love it, it's a special kind of charming.
Very Charming, weird and wonderful.
I can't get over how lovable weird he is. I can't watch him without laughing.
He is the complete embodiment of "chaotic good"
Lovably weird WITH style!!!!
He's Louis Theraux on acid! Love them both!
This man amazes me with how there is no break when he talks he just commits to an idea and just keeps talking with no break. ICONIC
Is he on drugs?? Lol
His intro on the Conan O'Brien Needs a Friend pod cast is my favorite. The guest is supposed to use one word to fill in a sentence about how they feel to be Conan's friend. Jeff Goldblum goes stream of consciousness for a full minute, questioning the nature of friendship and probably reality in the process. Dude's a treasure.
Perfectly put!, it’s amazing how me can shift seamlessly to totally different ideas lol
It's crazy to realize his characters are actually toned waaaay down compared to his actual self. Which is usually the opposite for most actors. It makes perfect sense Taika Waititi saw it and just decided to bring that out and embrace it instead of trying to write a character for him, because he's already quite the character himself.
What I wouldn't give to just get to sit down and have a conversation with this man. About literally anything.
A 6 hour in-depth conversation about yogurt!
This man is the definition of authentic. Imagine if every human being were as authentic as JG. The world would be fun.
Imagine if Dr. Ian Malcolm wasn't in Jurassic Park? Holy SH*T
I don't think authentic is the right word, it's more like: most other people are boring normal humans that use acting to become someone special, while JG just IS special and a natural entertainer, and probably has to use acting skills to appear normal to the world
AND stylish too!!
The world IS fun! Among other things.
he's eccentric and isn't afraid to be. he is every bit of the character that people say he is. that is how he is authentic.
“I have a SECRET!” I love Jeff’s enthusiasm.
Hes just full of secrets. Let me guess...
Number 1 is hes working with Tom Delonges alien project and Number 2 is that hes gay
WHoa! howd I know!
I’m a Goldblum fan but his most iconic character is Jeff Goldblum
I wonder if Jeff's parents realize what a gift they have given to the world. 💖
We're just extras in his movie.
I have a strong feeling that there's 2 more hours of him covering his roles that you'll stroll out in months 30 minutes at a time. I wanna see him talk about VIBES!
I LOVE Vibes!! I would love to hear about that!!!
Yes, PLEASE!!!
and Mr. Frost.
I love how Ian Malcom described how he played his Jeff Goldblum character.
He seems like a wonderful man, as in he’s literally full of wonder about everything around him.
I get the impression that if you ever met him, he’d be far more interested in your life than you would be about his.
Also full of burps apparently
This is true! I met him twice 💜 a real gem
@@jeneeo1650 how did you meet him? You're so lucky!
That's such a spot on observation. He has this aura of great enthusiasm and wonder that just transfers to you as you're watching him. Truly a treasure.
I was having a bad day and thought nothing could cheer me up, but Jeff… uh, finds a way…
hope the rest of your week went well :)
Well, there it is...
The voice, the movements, the grace, the memory for names, the handsomeness, the style and I can go on for days. This man is everything.
Jeff is so iconic he’s doing the interview wearing a velociraptor skin leather jacket🧥 🤩
I love that during the period between 1993 and 1997 you couldn't have a hit movie without Jeff Goldblum in it. He's so endearingly eccentric it's a true pleasure just listening to him talk about, well, anything really.
The 90's was the perfect decade for Jeff Goldblum to market himself. He gave movie directors and producers exactly what they needed.
The Fly is an absolute gem of a film, love it!
The Fly is probably one of my top five male performances in film. The sheer depth and emotional intensity that Jeff Goldblum brings to the character of Seth Brundle is AMAZING! I re-watch this film every couple of years strictly for the wonderful performances. The entire film is carried off by three superb actors, each of whom display a wonderful interplay of emotions. Any student of performing arts should see it!
I saw it last night and I have a new refound respect for him a lot of actors would’ve turned it back down and he made it into what it was!
@@lbabytutorials4852 Indeed, it was clearly not an easy role for Jeff Goldblum. The makeup sessions alone looked exhausting! The transformation, not just in body but in mind, draws you into the Seth Brundle character. Gina Davis, also gives a wonderful performance. The way she emotes in the final scene was SO heartbreaking.
Agreed, one of the absolute classics in my book.
He’s a character. Something my Dad says about certain people who are unique and interesting. We need more characters like Jeff on the world.
Just like Nic Cage.
Yes lol he is quite the character, gotta love him
Jeff Goldblum is like Jonathan Winters, Mel Brooks and Robin Williams in that, no matter how bland or commonplace the subject, they make a grand show of any conversation. You can see their brains running off into different directions. You never know where they are going to take you, but the trip is going to be breathtaking.
I have to admit that as a kid I couldn't really stand Jeff Goldblum but as I got older I learned to appreciate him and now I'm actually excited everytime I see him casted in a movie I'm about to watch.
And like other comments have already said, he's just so lovable weird and eccentric. Just seems like a genuine nice person that would be fun to hang with.
Same, and thought about it, Jeff is just so genuine in a fake world, quirks and all.
When he played Dr. Seth Brundle in the Fly, that wasn't just him playing a character, that character was actually patterned after him. He really is that damned brilliant.
That “insect politics“ monologue was so amazing , Man he really killed that role
😎
That scene gets me every time ;]
Goldblum was able to make you feel sympathy and fear with his incredible performance!
Loved the fly. Weird how it really was a love story..
I’ve had a crush on this man for years and still do.
He's one of the best actors of all time in my opinion, the charisma and eccentricity he brings to his roles is otherworldy and amazing especially in The Fly!
Oh, I hope he does come back and talk about some of his smaller roles. His bits in The Life Aquatic are precious!
The grand hotel budapest
Silverado
“I have a secret.” Jeff Goldblum knows Aliens.
🕵♂️
The secret is he's an alien in disguise...
The Fly is Geff's greatest role in my opinion, he was out of this world in that film. Always been a huge fan of the one and only Mr Goldblum
It's not only his best role, The Fly is his best film in my opinion !
Listening to Jeff Goldblum talk is always a treat
Jeff Goldblum is not just a person, an artist, but a state of mind. An original.
I love that this video is supposed to be about Jeff, but he cant help talking passionately and kindly about others. He is a treat! I would loved to hear about Jeff working with Donald Sutherland in the '78 Invasion of the Body Snatchers!
What a character Jeff Goldblum is! Absolutely wonderful! I give him 10/10 Goldblums!
The interactions between Jeff and Rachel House still kill me every time in Thor Ragnarok.
I was impressed that at 0:53 he mentioned a several actors in Jurassic Park I've never heard of. He's an appreciative team player.
He’s mentioned actors in Jurassic world dominion fyi. Only BD Wong is in the OG.
fell in love with Jeff after seeing him on Conan ..omggg ..he's too adorable🤩🤩🤩
I've always loved Jeff Goldblum throughout his career, but I absolutely loved how much fun he had playing the Grandmaster in Thor: Ragnarok. NOBODY does it like Jeff! When it comes to dialogue, he has one of the most iconic deliveries in modern cinema, right up there with Walken. I could listen to Jeff tell stories all day!
Jeff Goldblum’s most iconic character is Jeff Goldblum
Yeah, he's sorta like The Duke. No matter the character he's playing, it's Jeff Goldblum!
If I saw a movie today with him in it where he wasn't Jeff Goldblum, I'd be shocked, lol.
I love that he just confirms everybodies suspicion that he just was told to play himself in Thor Ragnarok
All of this personality and acting skill and he can shred on the piano. What an amazing cat.
I remember seeing The Fly in the theater in early high school. For a major 80's movie, it was absolutely shocking, what with its (typical Cronenberg) body horror. It truly felt like it deserved something *beyond* an R rating. A huge 80's movie...and I don't think audiences knew what hit 'em!
PLEASE! Please release the unedited/uncut version of this!
Legend says Jeff Goldblum began talking around age 2...and hasn't finished a sentence since.
Did Jeff just say that his part in the Fly was chewy and delicious ? Did I hear him correctly ? 😂😂😂 I love Jeff 😎❤️
As a person with a similarly over-active stomach, I always get a kick out of the subtle battle Jeff seems to have with his own during interviews. It's as if it's trying to express its appreciation for an outrageously delicious sandwich he's downed mere moments before the cameras roll, and Jeff just rolls happily along, seemingly indifferent to whether the joyous burps get out or not. Could watch these all day.
I wasn't sure if he was playing off burps or yawns. He's a pro.
"Made crazy by the ah...flesh." One of Jeff's most iconic lines!
He just seems to truly be so excited about life and everything around him 😊
I would like to hear about The Big Chill, Silverado, Vibes, and The Tall Guy, but everything he does is amazing! Jeff Goldblum is amazing. I knew it when I first saw him in Tenspeed and Brown Shoe!!!
In Earth's Girls Are Easy Jeff Goldblum looked super hot even though it wasn't a prize winning role. He's pretty awesome.
I’ve always felt like Jeff Goldblum has been underused in Hollywood, but I’m so glad he’s remained relevant. Even in some frankly ridiculous movies like Earth Girls Are Easy and Transylvania 6-5000, his presence made them fun and watchable.
Also, it’s my opinion that The Fly is one of the most underappreciated movies in history.
I’d love to hear him talk about Powder. And also talk about working with Jim Carrey on Earth Girls Are Easy.
I love Powder 😍
Love both of those movies
Jeff Goldblum, a fellow Pennsylvanian. Great actor and human being.
Great teacher also. See if you can find a list of famous actors who trained at Playhouse West, that's his school. Or at least he's a co-founder, he started PW with Robert Carnegie and then when Jeff got famous Mr Carnegie took over running the school.
I will never get bored of watching Jeff Goldblum.
Love this guy in Jurassic Park. The movies wouldn't be the same without him.
Love Jeff Goldblum. If I saw him in person, I'd have to ask him for a hug.
I feel like if you ask him a question he'll go off for a couple hours! I friggin love this guy haha
At first I thought man he’s weird. Today he’s even weirder but I love to watch him in movies. He’s hilarious. Even in real life.
Goldblum doesn't play characters. Characters play Goldblum. Who can't love this guy? He's fantastic!
Jeff Goldblum is so fascinating. He has the sophistication of an older person with the energy of a 30 year old. I could watch him talk all day.
His hand is death because he is old guy, his brain blow up
What an absolute legend and fashion icon.
My first thought when I see a new Jeff Goldblum video is “ho ho ho, merry Christmas to ME!” 😂 I love his whole spirit and the way he speaks is so magnetic
I want to hear a conversation between Jeff, Christopher Walken, and Norm Macdonald (RIP) - it'd be such a fun thing to listen to, just for the melodic phrases in the way they talk, nevermind the crazy run ons and tangents that they go on. The 3 of them are very similar in that way.
Wow that is just a great combo! It would be so weirdly fascinating and hilarious! Yes..RIP Norm you old chunk of coal.
the mold broke when the Lord above made Jeff Goldblum he is a special one of a kind,
the world needs a lot more people like him,
He was an original, and will always be an original. His acting is always truly engaging.
What an absolute icon. One of the most idiosyncratic icons.
that little hand thing when he says "magic" killed me LOL
Love love love Jeff. So much charm and charisma it's no surprise he's a brilliant jazz musician as well as a wonderful actor.
Jeff Goldblum is a gem. What a guy!
Him and Nic Cage need to do something together if they haven’t already.
I haven’t met Jeff Goldblum but I have met Nick Cage and he was extremely nice an gracious. They would be a dynamite duo.
Nic Cage needs to do alot of things with a lot of A-List actors before he kicks the bucket. Definitely Jeff Goldblum is top #5.
Gotta love that “Goldblum” energy.
“Young and full of beans” 🤣 gosh I love Jeff!
When people ask, "Who would I want to talk to for a while, Jeff is my quick answer. He is so intelligent, clever, witty, you name it, that's him. My Perfect Man 🥰😍
SNL needs to do a Goldblum family reunion
This (first) secret he has... I'm so intrigued! Is it a new upcoming project? An actual personal experience/revelation? I'm off to find the rabbit hole. 🤣
“I’m up here”. Jeff is a legend.
I am meeting Jeff this Saturday in London. I cant wait. I doubt I will be anything but a blubbering wreck. He is such a unique wonderful person.
how did meeting Jeff go? I'd have total reptile brain, I can relate to the anticapation.
Hooray! Another I've been waiting for. Jeff is one of my favourite actors and I was so pleased to have the chance to meet him at his wonderful Jazz shows in LA. ❤
Jeff is a national treasure His interview's are gold
Goldblum is still eccentric and nutty…don’t every change bro, you are awesome!
Wanted to hear about Big Chill and Buckaroo Banzai . Jeff was so busy being gracious to his fellow actors and directors and film crew that there wasnt time
dude is all over the place a great actor and funny dude
How he remembers the movie titles and names of everyone evolved is amazing. I forget people's names within minutes of hearing them.
JP made my childhood so amazing and he will always be Ian Malcolm to me. In that movie he taught me while things can appear calm and joyful on the outside, absolute disaster is the smallest margins away.
I could listen to Jeff all day, so much knowledge so much detail. It makes me proud to be a New Zealander listen to him and other actors/directors talk about Taika
Both are wonderful.
Covers the absolute best known works but there are so many really good films not even mentioned. Films like The Big Chill, The Right Stuff, The Adventures of Buckaroo Banzai ( it get a brief mention), Into the Night, Silverado, Deep Cover, and many, many, many more.
For a man of his agelessness, Goldblum has a great memory
Jeff is classic platinum. An absolute joy behind the camera. Truly contemporary film royalty!
He is so easily enjoyable I especially enjoy his Disney plus show the world according to Jeff goldblum watching him explain things is so pleasing
there is something so charismatic and captivating about his personality it’s crazy
It's like he gets excited about everything. If I could get half as excited about anything, my life would be so much better.
Hot take: Jeff Goldblum is quirky. I know most will disagree, but I stand my ground.
Wonderful interview, 11 Goldblums out of a possible 10 Goldblums!
This man is a national treasure of America. As a Brit I could listen to him talk for days!!!
I don't ever want to see the day we lose this precious human
There are few people I would put on the highest of metaphorical pedestals,Jeff Goldblum is one who holds such an honor.
Anyone that uses "chewy and delicious" to describe a part is truly a valuable resource of creative loonyness.
i want Doug DeMuro to do a video about Jeffs quirks and features
I am shocked that he didn't discuss "The Big Chill". It was that character that made me a Jeff Goldblum fan.
"Have you ever gone a day without a rationalization?" Just brilliant....
@@ingvarhallstrom2306 "That's what's great thing about the outdoors, you know. It is one giant toilet."
or,
"You are all welcome in New York City--not in my apartment you understand, but in the city."
or,
"It's not bad. Good clean style, lean, economical, just the right touch of ideological fanaticism."
All brilliant, but of course these are the words of Lawrence Kasdan and Barbara Benedek who wrote the screenplay, but Goldblum's delivery is priceless.
I know it is editing involved, but just like with Robin Williams, with Jeff Goldblume the interviewer just has to say "Hello! Welcome" and then sit back and enjoy 😁
Great video. It showed that the camera person knew Jeff and decided to back out more often than most interview settings. Jeff sure is passionate and visual in his wonderful way of storytelling 😁❤
Even though he looks completely different and sounds completely different, the way Jeff Goldblum tells stories exactly the way my grandpa used to!!!
