We met her also in Toronto, and chatted for about 15-20 min, absolutely amazing person. After seeing her outstanding performance on the stage, we couldn't believe when we saw her outside in the "real world" and she stopped to give us the autograph! I think that she is a real celebrity, someone who has a great work and performance behind her plus stays normal person, not like these new "stars" with 15min of fame...
Love her long lines and musicality. She's one of the tallest ballerinas at 5'9" in height, inspiring for the new generation of tall women in ballet schools.
Wow...she is amazing! So graceful and delicate while also being incredibly controlled and quick. Love the way she uses her arms and her face is so enthralling! This is what a ballerina should be
She is absolutely amazing. She's ridiculously famous in Russia and the world over. They treat ballerinas like rockstars over there. I feel like she has the perfect technique, but she's interesting to watch because she puts such personality and energy into her performances!! I love American ballet too, but I can definitely tell Russian ballerinas from the others. They train with military discipline and are really intense.
Went to see this performance yesterday! it was absolutely amazing! I have no words. I actually got the chance to meet Uliana Lopatkina in person, she gave me her autograph and we talked. She is so sweet!
Out of all the Swan Lakes I've collected on DVD, this one (Decca 2007) is my favorite, both because of the excellent quality of the video and because of Lopatkina's magnificence.
came here from watching alina samova do the same dance, and this one is so much more fluid and graceful...i can see how style makes up such a large part of dance, even such a structured dance like ballet.
Can truthfully say I have never seen anything like Lopatkina before and probably never will again! Incredible does not cover it. I would sell my soul (if I have one) to see this live. Thank you so much for this.
She is such a beautiful dancer, a direct link to Vaganova through her teacher the great Natalia Dudinskaya. This tradition in the Russian school is so magnificent. How fortunate Lopatkina's students will be! \
Like Ballerina, I only can say that Ulyana Lopatkina is my inspiration. I have great Prima Ballerinas who has inspired me over all my career, Ulanova, Plisetskaya, Makarova,...but from the first time I saw dancing Ulyana Lopatkina in Sherezade I absolutely though : What a talent, musicality, feeling, ...She isn't performing the rol, she's living her performance!!! She's Unique. 🙏🏻❤️🩰🌹
OLTREMODO BRAVI. BIGHIN GIULIO RENZO
How can people even compare this interpretation with that of Gillian Murphy? Uliana Lopatkina is just so more in control, look at those lines, how fluid she is, her port de bras this is nothing Madame Murphy can match. Honestly and personally I prefer less turns, but cleaner movements. These fouttées are so much better, so well controlled, perfectly balanced, arms are wonderful. Nothing like what Gillian Murphy does in the video here on youtube.
She shows sharper, agile movements from Odile's character. Odile still is a swan inside...I can not understand how there's people who compares ballet dancers from the past with comtemporary, there are completely different worlds...
i agree... but i also like uliana lopatkina's port de bras as well. makarova is one of my favorite dancers. she was one of the first people to inspire me as a child.
Even though I don't like the break in the music after the foutees, I think they're both great. I love how she moves her arms when she's lifted at the end.
They're funny the way they stop for a bow in the middle of the coda, thereby completely killing the momentum and the excitement of the score and the dance. Weird.
Why is everybody fighting over who is the better dancer?! If you dance you'll see the beauty in both of them - the reason there are more than just one set of company dancers in the world is for there to be variation! If you think one thing is more difficult, ok, however they are both extremely talented dancers and unless you consider youself on their niveau, stop judging and start appreciating!
Out of all the Odile variations I've seen love her! She is always spot on with the music and as a musician I am very keen to that aspect. I doesn't matter how good you are, dancer or musician, if you can't keep up to the music, your performance will seem kind of...off?
I felt uneasy with the orchestration, it was somewhat different from other versions... and I didn't like how they stopped the music after the fouettes, it cut too much the scene. Uliana=excelency. I love her dancing.
I bought the DVD and was very excited .. but when I watched it I was a bit disapointed; the original Kirov style is still there, but it seems the magic has gone away.. but maybe it's just me :-) Anyway, they will perform next week in Amsterdam and I will see Don Quichotte and the Sleeping Beauty .. I hope 'the magic of the Kirov ballet' will be there again.
I think this is the same ballerina where she gives this quick, devilish smile to the audience before the prince lifts her up, which was such a nice touch! It's as if she's trying to say, "I've got him!" Can't seem to find that clip, though.
I don't think we should compare the legendary Maya Plisetskaya with the Ulyana Lopatkina of today, since their dancing styles are so distinct different. Plisetskaya emphasizes more "acting" skills, something she picked up from Galina Ulanova, the other great Soviet-era ballerina. In contrast, Lopatkina demonstrates more in the way of technical skill, especially if you look at her 2006 Swan Lake performance on DVD.
@wigglebells uh actually the first black swan to perform the 32 fouette count did 32 of them not just 32 musically wise but 32 being able to be counted
does anyone know the two song titles when the boy dances the two times??? i really need to know them!!!! there is a song when the boy dances the first time and then there is a different song when the boy dances the second time. anyone know BOTH songs??

She is a real celebrity indeed, thank you for the post
She is perfection. I have never seen any other prima ballerina attack Odile with such vivacity. Amazing.
Love her long lines and musicality. She's one of the tallest ballerinas at 5'9" in height, inspiring for the new generation of tall women in ballet schools.
Лебединое Озеро-название, музыку написал И. Пётр Чайковский!!
Wow...she is amazing! So graceful and delicate while also being incredibly controlled and quick. Love the way she uses her arms and her face is so enthralling! This is what a ballerina should be
I don't understand why people feel the need to prefer one dancer to another. I love Uliana Lopatkina AND Gillian Murphy!
She is absolutely amazing. She's ridiculously famous in Russia and the world over. They treat ballerinas like rockstars over there. I feel like she has the perfect technique, but she's interesting to watch because she puts such personality and energy into her performances!! I definitely agree with you. Uliana is very talented. check her out dancing the " dying swan" she'll bring you to tears
Pauline IV her dying swan is transcendent. The best I've ever seen. She looks like she's actually dying
Pauline IV amazing the best dying swan
With those arms and her beautiful long neck... she does indeed look just like a dying swan. I could watch Ulyana forever.
Can truthfully say I have never seen anything like Lopatkina before and probably never will again! Incredible does not cover it. I would sell my soul (if I have one) to see this live. Thank you so much for this.
mark prescott you have one! So not sell it. LOL
Lopatkina is now the Russia's Prima Ballerina Absoluta!
She is such a beautiful dancer, a direct link to Vaganova through her teacher the great Natalia Dudinskaya. This tradition in the Russian school is so magnificent. How fortunate Lopatkina's students will be!
\
Lopatkina is a goddess. Thank you for uploading.
Божественная!! Неповторимая!! Красивая женщина!!
She barely travels at all during the series of fouttes. That is some serious control. I love this woman.
WorldOfJess I know nothing of ballet but I think you are quite right. She is fabulous. And.... you have very good taste.
Yes, i agree with you.
Makanrova is the Queen, ALWAYS and FOREVER
are you sure ? saw her going back and forth all the time during the 32 turns
Lopatkina is a true Ballerina! Graceful, precise and beautiful!
I love how she does not overpower her fouettes. A perfect display of effortless control.
black swan is the hardest variation. thats why its rare for people to do it in yagp... its insane. she did an amazing job
She is breathtaking! Adore her!

She is the queen, the best swan ever.
TRUTH. Not even Polina has her beat in this ballet.
Agree
thank you
I have just seen Galina in Raymonda...thank you again
the audience loves her! and she loves the audience back, so beautiful! :)
Prima assoluta.
I thinks she's the greatest ballerina as the black swan ❤
У Лопаткиной лучшие руки в балете!
и худшие ноги
THE BEST SWAN!
She is just só graceful! Absolutely the best swan I've ever seen!
Black Swan, White Swan, Dying Swan, Lopatkina is the One & Only.
beautiful Miss Lopatkina BRAVA!!!!!

Her odile attitude is so poised yet so feisty. Love it.

so far, she's the only person who's really made me believe that her arms could be wings...
i can't take my eyes off her...she is perfect!!!
amazing performance
Her arms are amazing!
She is really good! Hope to see her perform someday
Ahhhhhh those fouettes
uliana lopatkina is the one who makes me love swan lake
She shows sharper, agile movements from Odile's character. Odile still is a swan inside...I can not understand how there's people who compares ballet dancers from the past with comtemporary, there are completely different worlds...
なんて美しい.....ターンの正確性が素晴らしい。あのプリエでなぜあんなに何回も綺麗に回れるのか。
Please do not loose faith in all US Citizens. I think Lopaktina is GOURGEOUS, BEAUTIFUL, UNBELIEVABLE ARMS AND LINES, BEST OF THE BEST.
i agree... but i also like uliana lopatkina's port de bras as well. makarova is one of my favorite dancers. she was one of the first people to inspire me as a child.
best since pliesetskaya! Lopatkina owns this role!
goals
Incredible!!

Yah.
@Juventina1005 Haha yeah, It makes me feel better too. I'm 5'9", so it's great to see someone as tall as Lopatkina dance so beautifully.
omg! I think I even counted 35? maybe I'm just bad at counting lol very impressive though
Потрясающая техника и замечательная трактовка танца
Lopatikina is my favorit swan EVER!!!!!! she's amaizing!! so confident, and pretty!!
she dances so perfetc!! the fouettes are absoluty amaizng!!
beautiful.
ella es hermosa!!
Ah! Perfection in black feathers!
Que maravilla de xica, es fantastica!!!

Exquisite.
もう非の打ち所が全くない全てが完璧。思わず「ブラボー!!」って叫んだわ
オディールのVa

artist...she's got personality
and he's very long and elegant
Ну до чего же она хороша! Какая грация! Не поддпется описанию. Просто само совершенство!
I think this is the same ballerina where she gives this quick, devilish smile to the audience before the prince lifts her up, which was such a nice touch! It's as if she's trying to say, "I've got him!" Can't seem to find that clip, though.
❤❤❤❤
Best port de bras out there.
Great!!!
Юлианна Лопаткина-русская танцора!!
if u count she does 34 :))))

She's perfect! Lopatikina is the next Pavlova!
HER EXPRESSION!
Только Ульяна заставляет моё сердце замирать
maisumnomundo, i agree. watch this version, the girl is crazy talented. double pirouette en dehors followed by a tripple attitude pirouette.
Нет, это не руки, это Крылья
I dont have a preference. Frankly if they have the skill to dance so beautifully then I have to give them credit for it.
@sugarplumcherry6 I agree!!! I
Ahhh, Danila...so delectable!!
Swan Lake is a ballet IN "Black Swan."
So CLEAN and beautiful. Uliana, you're amazing! :D
The prince wasn't that amazing though. T_T
all are amazing dancers.... i tried the fouettes(not on pointe) but i couldnt do it flat.... i got dizzy
The Vaganova/Russian technique has the dancers extend a la seconde instead of fourth position front like in the Cechetti method.
I must not count the fouettes correctly because evrytime I attempt to count 32 fouettes I end up counting 25 or something
:O Excuisitely perfect and beautiful
Perfect partner Danila!
Turning starts at 5:07
I love uliana but when most Russian ballerinas do fouettes the supported leg is turned in
her arms just go on forever
5:07-5:35
Thank you was looking for the fouetté!
Those fuettes...
where can i watch the whole of this???
its in St. Peterburg, and our audiences do not applaud as for the circus! She is beloved and admired as no serious artist would ever be in America
Her legs, they are so looong! They are endless O.O
@wigglebells
uh actually the first black swan to perform the 32 fouette count did 32 of them not just 32 musically wise but 32 being able to be counted
does anyone know the two song titles when the boy dances the two times??? i really need to know them!!!! there is a song when the boy dances the first time and then there is a different song when the boy dances the second time. anyone know BOTH songs??
Rad airtime!
