Ryan's writing for Glee was solid the first 3 seasons, then he (and his fellow writers) got sloppy starting in season 4 and it all completely fell apart by season 6. I stayed on as a diehard Glee fan, but many fans faded away due to the odd writing that started to happen. Now I'm hesitant to get into any new show of his for fear the same will happen again.
bluedance lilly Ryan's writing on Glee was typical of style. Have you seen any of his past shows. Things were already going downhill during the 3rd season. Also, Murphy wanted to write the kids going to college (more mature themes) and bring on new kids essentially having two shows but lost that battle and settled for the compromise that was Season 4. He also began focusing more on other projects so Glee slipped further down his priority list. Sad but true.
Well Feud is really more a miniseries. It's very tightly plotted with no filler. And it's only "one season" (the second season will be a completely different story with, most likely, a different cast). I think both the OJ Series, Feud, and some select seasons of AHS are all great.
The writing was very very very sloppy after season 4 (due to having to change the whole season after Cory died) but it really should've ended with season 5 because it was already on a fine line. Season 6 shouldve never happened in my opinion. I still cringe when I watch it at times.

bluedance lilly Vampire Diaries, Gossip Girl... almost all good shows got sloppy with their season 4. But I love Glee's final season and the fifth season is way better than the fourth.
he is like an overindulgent parent. Lea is an adult and her behaviour is 100% her fault, but Ryan should also hold some responsibility for fostering a toxic workplace.

He encouraged her, laughed long, ignored her belittling of others, wrote her behaviour as jokes, belittled the POC cast members. He created the environment and enabled her.

This is in everyone's recommendation after all these years due to recent allegations. Naya tried to warn us but everyone brushed it off and said Naya was just jealous of Lea's success.
I read her book. That being said, she did an interview and said she would most definitely work with Lea again. She also said they were NOT feuding, and it was blown out of proportion

jajajajaja same thing happened to me.
There's so much truth to what Ryan points out about feuds involving male actors not making headlines the way they do when it comes to women. That said, I do feel like he was deflecting in order to avoid talking about Lea who, as most people here know by now, was far from nice to many of her fellow cast members. I'll always have so much respect towards Naya for daring to be the first one to step up and bring this issue to light, in spite of knowing the amount of backlash she would face.
I feel like Ryan doesn't care for the feud and any sort of issues Lea has caused. In the end, he probably favors Lea due to her talent and ability to make money. She's a star. So that's that.
But how come he never uses her or Naya again in his shows?

Ryan has amazing shows but he fucked glee over to work on the other ones and then the writing got crappy and the ideas were so bad it was just "throw in another couple" "throw in another fight" "throw in another breakup" when they could have done soooo much more I think they should have abandoned the glee club after season 3 they won nationals it was over or maybe ended the show and after season three cut Mathew Morrison his character was just so bland after a while god a fan could have directed that better than the new directors could have

It's been 3 years now... and since than, RM haven't ask Naya to work with him again. That's take side... feud or not both actress were important to build the show in to the success that it was... and he knows that after season 4, he try to end and give more perspective on Lea and she could not hold it together the audience.... too bad really.

Glee started losing viewers mid S2 actually. Probably because they spent the Super Bowl episode pissing off people that didn't watch Glee in a preachy episode.
He created an environment of bullying and intimidation.
On Becca's podcast they talked about how all of the old cast except Naya and Darren hazed the new cast members (Melissa, Becca, Blake etc.), so it probably involved them

But with Cory, I think we just respected each other so much and we respected working with each other so much. I think that’s what I’ll always remember - the abundant respect that he gave everyone. I think that’s why it was such a hard loss. It was so hard to see betrayed when he passed away in his life - that didn’t represent who he was.

I think he's referring to Mark Stalling. If anything it was Mark and Chris. I'm so surprised the number of people who think it's darren. From what I've observed for the past years Darren is very professional, which is an advantage when getting along with a group of people. I mean they all still hung out and partied together, but there's something about Darren's personality that I think didn't make him get into drama with people. Like Cory's.

I think he’s done amazing things and created great stuff, Glee is my favorite show but I have always felt something off about this guy, I feel like he has this big ego and he thinks he’s better than anyone. Now knowing how awful Lea was to everybody and knowing that he didn’t make anything to stopped her but quite the opposite and gave her a part again on his shows just make me think he is as bad as she is. But Darren was at Chris' premier of SBL to support him and lookout the Interviews they did... especially after the last season, they were laughing all the time, saying they were friends. And when they filmed white Christmas and Darren filmed Chris, it looks so natural and not played. Also the tweets between the two of them were really friendly, so I think they are really friends :) I think there was more of a problem with Mark Selling. After this thing with the childpornography, many cast members said that they always had a weird feeling about Mark...

But when Klaine first began, there were a lot of people thinking they were (or would make) a good couple in real life and their fandom made a big deal about that. So they tried to distance themselves from hanging out so as to end those stupid rumors. So then fans went the other way - claiming just because they weren't always together, they must not like each other. But they are friends and have always gotten along. See them together in interviews and listen to their stories.

The vibe I got was less that they didn’t get along and more that they distanced from each other because of rabid Crisscolfer shippers. It got pretty intense and disrespectful towards their real life romantic partners.
I'd like to blame Ryan Murphy in pitting Lea and Naya against each other because of what he did to their characters on glee. It sort of became a trigger with happened between the two.

Ryan gaslighted everyone in the show to make them be their character's narrative. I remember he enable Lea to control everyone and be difficult on the set bec that was a Rachel Berry be like, well a little less bitchy. And I remember this script Naya as santana in a an argument scene with chris colfer as kurt which is basically a direct and personal tirade against the actor's insecurities and it was really awful and Naya even admitted regretting doing that scene. He created that toxic environment in glee so that he can build drama in the show. Glee was cursed and can't believe three of its main characters died young. Some has issues like Melissa Benoist and Blake. But atleast most of them remained friends except from Lea Michele which was obviously everyone hated.

I think the person who got over shadowed by Santana is Quinn. I think Quinn was cast as the mean girl but never really starred in that role. But Naya really played that part well.

Would the series finale have been better with Naya Rivera? ABSOLUTELY! You and I both know that even before Cory Monteith's death the show just died on it's own.

I remember Naya getting hate for saying the truth and being Honest like i mean srsly Lea Michele really suits to be Rachel Berry's actor. Somehow they have the same personality, "Horrible". Lea wouldn’t get a invitation to your birthday party. She was a jerk and hurtful. But on the other hand don’t blow this out of control for a storyline. Just saying.
A lot of people are talking about how season 4 of glee had sloppy writing after and you guys have to realize that this isn’t Ryan’s fault, he wasn’t the only writer and some writers were added and they didn’t all agree with his ideas. (Such as having the show split into essentially two shows, one about their college life, and one about new kids in Glee) instead he had to compromise. Hence the noticeable sloppy writing of season 4. (Personally though i still really liked season 4, it was season 5 and after I had problems with, some songs in season 5 were still good though, but season 6 was actual trash). I feel like if Ryan was able to do what he wanted, it would’ve gone way better, and have a better ending. My guess this was after season 3 that all the disharmony started. If you listen to Naya's book they all loved each other partied together got along . SO when Ryan talks he is referring to all 6 yrs. As far a Dianna she was the best actor on the show but not wall appreciated by Ryan because just reading between the lines in some interviews Dianna was not shy about telling him how the show should be done. Ryan had a thin skin?

Of course he going to deflect and make the drama with Leia and Maya a big thing because he would have to admit his favoritism. But corrected me if I'm wrong didn't demote Naya because of a fight she had wirh Leia. So he can't play that " a lot of people didn't get along" if someone was punished because of it. Their was also a rumor that he cut Dianna out of the Finn memorial episode because of issues with Leia as well.

And they were not 18 or 19. Chris Colfer was but Naya and Lea was 22 and 23. He knows his actors so well the actors he worked with for 6 years Amazeballs
god being 22 is almost the same as being 18. You are so young at 22, and they had acted, but never been this famous. Lea had a broadway career, she was not recognized in the streets. What he means is that not really being an adult yet and suddenly waking up famous from a show makes a huge impact on a person. It’s a lot to go through so young.

It wasn't until the first episode of the show actually aired on television and it became an instant hit that they suddenly found themselves being super famous. No matter how old you are, it must be an adjustment to go from a relatively normal life to the life of a celebrity being chased by paparazzi more or less over night. And most of the cast was very young when the show first started. Lea, Dianna, Amber and Jenna were all 23, Naya and Heather were 22, and Kevin was 21. That is still really young; at that age you've just barely left your teen years. And Chris was only 19.
