Great to have you back, Christel
Stay forever please!
Christel for future podcast presenter please- or even Unleashed
It’s a crime you’re not a host, you have a genuine enthusiasm for Who and have interesting perspectives. No harm to the current hosts.
Always great to see you Crystal
The best thing about the finale was the return of Christel Dee to the Doctor Who Podcast
And the baby named Bristel Dee
@@whophdBrindle Dee* 🤣
Christel Dee is the main reason for me watching this podcast
That’s why they named the baby … Bristel Dee?
Here's my question... In "The Giggle" episode, Ncuti's doctor clones the TARDIS. So does that mean there is a clone Sutekh clinging onto David's TARDIS, too?
My husband had the same question 😮
I think it absolutely does because in the giggle the tardis that ncuti has IS the clone one. He goes into the second tardis so David can keep his original tardis. So then if sutekh was cloned, that means not only did he go everywhere the doctor has gone up until ncuti’s era, he also went everywhere the 14th doc did since they bI-generated. I definitely think it leaves room for Sutekh to come back later.
It might be important to alert David Tenant just in case
My question too?
@@Happymama12 I believe RTD already confirmed that the Tardis 15 has is the original and the clone Tardis is the one that 14 has. That still could mean that there’s another Sutekh though…
Mel finding her own ribbon on the Remembered TARDIS was a nice touch.
Own Ribbon? It was the sixth Doctor’s neck tie surely?
@Shew28 You are correct. I thought it was her hair ribbon from the Rani episode.
In respects to Ruby's mom, how she may be ordinary but so so important, all I can think of is that amazing 11th Doctor quote from the 2010 Christmas Special.
"Nobody important? Blimey, that's amazing. You know that in nine hundred years of time and space and I've never met anybody who wasn't important before."
RETURN OF A KING (Christel)
I really hope Disney+ can get the "Tales of the TARDIS" so the US viewers can learn more about the Menory TARDIS set.
No it's UK only , sorry
Did everybody miss Mrs Flood's, "oh you clever boy"? Now where've we heard that before?!😮
Yeah at this point I won't jump on red herrings like that 😅
Also carol flood… music + body of water?
It's not Clara
@@topmandog1 pretty sure they're hinting at it being River Song.
(I love @hexx3dd 's idea of the CAROL FLOOD'S name being a form of music and body of water -- I had not picked up on her first name being Carol -- but remember, that is literally how River got her name. From MELODY POND.. because the only water in the forest is the river (Season 5 - Matt Smith's doctor))
@@becclaire7816 Please don't re-post this idea. It's everywhere, and it's dead wrong. Nowhere EVER is her name mentioned to be "Carol." This name only exists to make this theory seem true, and only appears in comments insisting that Mrs. Flood is River Song. It's hot bullshit.
There was the kind woman's baby in the episode who was named Brindle Dee and I wonder if that was a reference to Christel Dee.
@7:55: The reason Sutekh spared The Doctor was so that The Doctor could lead him to Ruby's mum.
Carol flood, which is obviously a nod to river song and melody pond, (form of song + form of water source) and then in this episode, when she gets saved she yells out clever boy while wearing overalls. Who else called the doctor clever boy in overalls? Clara mother florking Oswald.
But in my opinion it’s laying it on to thick. Like the Susan triad thing, it’s probably neither and just her using the doctors companions against him
Excellent audition Christel for season 2 of Doctor Who podcast!!!
No need to audition- she was the original host lol
WE HAD A BABY NAMED BRISTEL DEE IN THE TENT and nobody thought to ask Christel Dee? 😂😂
I love the idea of Sutekh as a cosmic Doctor Who fan, watching every episode since Pyramids of Mars, probably hiding behind the Tardis during the scary bits like a kid hiding behind the sofa, and just not being willing to end the universe completely until the last story was finished. I know if I was going to destroy the universe I would wait until my favorite shows were over.
So...uh...no explanation for Ruby's powers?
The vibe I really got from Ruby's mother being completely ordinary and that's /why/ she was SO important was very similar to the vibe I got from The Lego Movie... "All that anyone needs to be 'the special' is to believe that they can be." Like, everyone matters. Anyone can be the most important, the most special, the most whatever.
Glad christel dee on the podcast
Do y’all ever have any criticisms? Just every episode is always an A+?
Yeah they were softballing the episode a bit much and I feel like at least the two guests had some criticisms they did not get to say. It would not hurt the podcast to include some things people did not enjoy.
I think that if the Doctor ever finds Susan for real it will be obvious. Firstly, she'll twist her ankle because clearly Susan has weaker than normal ankles. Secondly, she'll say that it took the Doctor way too long to fix that shoe.
You can really tell how underwhelmed Christel Dee in particular is by the reveal of Ruby's Mum. The fact that they had all that build up only to confirm that she was just some random woman we'd never met called Louise was such a let-down.
Why couldn't Ruby's mother be Susan, given that we received what seemed like blatant foreshadowing for a Susan Foreman return? It would have been so much more interesting to connect Ruby to the Doctor's own family.
Christel would make a good host.
Watch out, I saw Shabaz calling people racist for not liking his cringey personality.
5:45 seconds in and Christel has given more thought, analysis than either of the current hosts.
@@PrizefightaI know what you’re implying but I have not read one comment he has posted that even has a hint of that. I have been pretty critical of the hosts but I think it must be really difficult to consistently be told you are not good at your job. He has been slightly childish in some of his remarks but I don’t know anyone who wouldn’t be upset to be constantly told they are bad at their job. I think both hosts have done their best and I believe they are passionate about the show they just don’t have the depth of knowledge for this.
@@timewyrmrevelations7700Their menat to be fans of the show
@@timewyrmrevelations7700 I lodged a complaint with the BBC when I saw him accusing people of being racist for criticising his hosting chops.

It's like she used to be the podcast host and was replaced by two soulless randoms
Great to have Christel on the podcast. She'd make a brilliant main host...
( 4:17 ) Why didn’t Suranne Jones aka Idris say about Sutekh in The Doctor’s Wife? 😂
17:15: He was waiting so long for his ultimate victory and now with this final piece of the puzzle it has come (or so he thought).
If Mrs Flood ends up being Mrs Claus in the Christmas episode, I swear...
She's probably a normal person, she's only important because we think she is.
@@CathySW Lol. Turns out the Doctor isn't a doctor, but only is because we all call him that.
My question is why didn't Sutekh die when the Tardis exploded in Matt Smiths era if it was clinging to The Tardis since the time of the 4th Doctor.
I'm guessing he did but was brought back when the universe rebooted. The changes we see such as Amy's parents were due to subconscious changes in Amy's mind. Everything else went back to how it was.
@@DeinobiAmy's parents didn't change. They just came back from not existing
@@AmaranthOriginal yes. that is a change to the timeline. I didn't mean her parents literally changed
Did anyone notice on 15 nails the tally marks that 11 used when he saw The Silence?
Yeah I did what’s the story there do u think
He's had Gallifreyan symbols on his nails the whole season... Unless you're talking about something else which I missed
@@Deinobihe did?! I've never noticed that😮
@@shiroi201 it was never obvious in the show, I only knew cause they talked about it in the marketing
@@Deinobi oooooh ok. Still a very cool detail!
Damn, the thumbnail gave me hope Christel Dee was back permanently.
14:18 "Human presenting", don't know when I'll get to use that phrase in a polite context, but I'm stealing it anyway!
We didn’t get the answers of White always snows or Place the Carol of the bell song so it seems like there’s still something more to Ruby
Well it snows at Christmas so I guess it will be explained then.
6:10 Susan Triad actually mentioned: "I dream of a world with orange skies"
Yep. Multiple Susan Ts, everywhere the Doctor has been, including Gallifrey before the Masted destroyed it
a little easter egg that I saw and kinda freaked out about was seeing the WHO 1 Plate from Bessie (3rd Doctor Era)
Thanks for the great season everyone! Can't wait until Christmas!
If there is a Christmas episode.
@@ryanhayes5911 It's been confirmed for awhile. Moffat wrote it too.
@@ryanhayes5911 Yes, they're deciding to not broadcast the episode they've filmed, started promoting and edited.
@@ryanhayes5911 Nicola Coughlan is in it fam lol
Huh. I guess Kate likes birds. That's two bird related comments in as many episodes?
Shabaz trying to get out of eating chillie at the end beacuse he lost a bet 🤣🤣
I really did think that Gallifrey would be restored as well, and it very well could. We have to remember that it was by the hands of the Master that all the Time Lords are gone... again. Although if you wanted to have a loop around, you could say that Sutekh manipulated The Master to destroy the Time Lords.
Russell is very invested in the Doctor being the last of the Time Lords
Even as he keeps bringing the Master back
If Chibnall didn't destroy Gallifrey, Russell would have
Thankfully the vague way RTD wrote this he or future show runners could point to this life reboot as a means of Gallifrey having been restored. Better to not write himself into a corner and leave it open for future episodes which worlds have or haven't been brought back.
21:16: I think Susan would become Chief Technology Officer at UNIT. After all, she did invents some sort of spectacular software that she was going to share with the world.
Susan is still a tech genius. She would be a great asset to unit.
@7:03; Gabriel Woolf also voiced the original Sutekh
Hmm, amazing build up but bit of a silly ending. Ruby's Mum, 15 and scared but still has time to find a security camera and dramaticly point at it for the baby's name. We know Ncuti's Tardis was cloned so what's wrapped round David's? Susan's now working for Unit, whats happening with her company while she makes the tea? So many other questions
I have a question about Suetekh with the Tardis. In the 60th anniversary part when 15th copied the Tardis, was Suetekh connected to both the Tardises or was he only connected to the original Tardis and did the 15th have the original Tardis and was 14th’s Tardis the copied Tardis. It’s just a thought I had
Since it's another of the same TARDIS, I suppose Sutekh was on both TARDISes. We've had the TARDIS cross paths with another of itself before. But ig since it's still the same entity, it counts as only one
RTD said that he would come back to that at some point, so I am curious.
If we assume that bigeneration is basically a future regeneration that was pulled back into the past, and that 14 will eventually die and 'regenerate' to complete the loop, then it stands to reason that the Tardis will eventually merge back into itself as well.
This is pretty big speculation considering we don't know how bigeneration works though.
@27:46: It looks like the leather coat look is The Doctor's "traveling clothes"
Something that just came to my mind with sutekh clinging onto the tardis: the doctor and companions arrive in the tardis but then go off to have their adventures. Is sutekh just sitting on the tardis tapping his claws and waiting for them?😂 he probably isn't going along with them and getting in the same dilemas they do
Classic RTD finale, Ruby's TARDIS exit broke my heart(s) :(
But she’ll be back in next season
Same I couldn't stop tearing myself up but I find most parts underwhelming the anti climax was okay but the story was a bit done to death in my opinion
@ryanhayes5911 Yeah but still, the way the scene was written and acted out was just jflsjd- 😭
Honestly considering Ruby will be back in the Christmas Special why was there even a goodbye scene. This is reminding me of Clara's many goodbyes which were later undone.
Thanks to Nadia, Shabaz, Olga, Christel, Lenny and Russell! ⏳
Thank you to everyone involved in these podcasts it's been brilliant! See you at Christmas 🎄🎄🎁
If this is how rubys story ends im upset by the plotholes. Im also upset by when the dr says every planet is dying from every point in time hed ever landed then hardly explains how they can get to earth 2046. This is personally my least fave ep of the season. The middle scene on the other planet was too vague/short/pointless i feel like the dr could just have said something like “sutekh can sense life and invade peoples minds and kill anyone who escapes the main could”. And then more mel and ruby and dr working together.
I did hear a great theory about the tardis being the one who created 73 yards, like about how they said the tardis perception filter is 73 yards. So the dr got trapped in the fairy circle and the tardis panicked and got connected to ruby and thats why the ruby figure is blurry cause the tardis perception filers ends at 73 yards. Bit of a stretch but i love tardis theories
THANKS for this!!!!

UNIT spinoff does sound awsome
Does sound more likely, too.

What was the purpose of The Vlinx?
To keep Nicholas Briggs happy on the show even though he’s not playing the Daleks
Mrs. Flood is the Black Guardian, I'm calling it now

I would find that kind of cool, like the Doctors home world is now a massive cyber base for Cyber Lords. Much more interesting and fresh than just a council of old gits.

Christel dee is back hallelujah 🙌🏻🙌🏻🙌🏻
Sutekh wasn't saying he was waiting for so long, not because he was waiting to know who Ruby's mother was, but because as soon as he answered the question of who she was he could finally destroy the Universe. Seeing as he is the God of death he'd have been trying since the dawn of time, was stopped and imprisoned by Horus, was nearly freed but was stopped by The Doctor in Pyramids of Mars, but was finally free to carry out his plan!!!!
I think one big turn will be that they are a tv show and will find out they are on a show. So maybe I can get on board with Mrs flood being a god of stories

When the latest reincarnation of the doctor created a 2nd tardis did he create another incarnation of sutekh omg my head hurts
He sits on top of the tardis for a thousand years.. it waiting 6 months to know who rubys mom is… is a long time????

So happy that ruby found her birth mother and saying goodbye to the doctor so emotional can't wait to see her back in doctor who next year
4:45 ~ You think there is another SUTEKH!? Where the 15th split the TARDIS into two for 14th, the very same TARDIS that SUTEKH was on for all those times!?
18:28 ~ IT'S BASIC MATH!
Christel Dee! The only reason to watch this one episode of an otherwise lamentable series of podcasts. She is brilliant and actually knows what she is talking about.
Hello love the new episode
Roll on xmas
Is Miss Flood .......Santa's Wife? 😅
I really liked that they set up the idea of there always being a "twist at the end", but the twist turned out to be that there was no twist. Very funny and clever. This podcast seems to take the show a bit too seriously. The vibe is too sober. It's a children's show, after all.
Oh sweet children. The resurrection basically means that The Flux and the 1/2 the universe that was destroyed sontarans, daleks, cybermen and whatever died is back.. Thats means that the basic history of the Doctor and every Villain is possibly coming back.. Its a reboot.
Really enjoyed this finale. Overall, a really good season. Ncuti Gatwa was absolutely outstanding as The Doctor. Millie Gibson was brilliant as Ruby, really sad to see her depart, but am confident we will see her again soon. Well done to Russel T. Davies and all the production team involved. Really excited to see where Doctor Who goes next in both the 2024 Christmas Special and Series 15/Season 2
I for one am tired of every little character we ever see turning out to be somebody's somebody or a character we already know. I loved it when that trend began but it became kinda predictable. So for me it was a breath of fresh air that Ruby's mom is just an ordinary person, the "kind woman" was just an ordinary person, Ruby herself was just an ordinary but brilliant person. And I loved the whole explanation about importance. 😌
I share the same opinion. My crush said " finally a normal episode with normal peoples "
Love you guys !!!!!❤❤❤❤
I still think Mrs Flood could be the Doctor's real mother. Powerful and hammy- sound familiar to anyone?😊 Don't know why she's being The Narrator though. Such vibes 💯
CHRISTEL!!!🎉
What flavor is Shabaz's humble pie? He should have focused more on Mrs Flood.
so disappointing, all that build up about who ruby's mother is only for it to be some random nobody
also sutekh's reveal was so good at the end of part 1 but was defeated so easily just feels bleh
💙💙💙💙
First mention of the rumoured UNIT spin-off I see. Hopefully that means the announcement of the rumoured spin-off must be soon.
Love the hint that Miss Flodd might be Missy: Flood, Sea...
Miss Sea,
Missy !!
Missy is dead and why would she be tipping round the doctor again?
Remember the doctor has NEVER met someone who WASN’T important. Even if they are only important to one person they still matter
"she was important because we think she's important" are you kidding me what kind of an explanation is that..... the snow the secret song the tardis remembered all purely because we thought this mystery woman was important all this weird stuff happened.....???? it was like half the writing of this series was brilliant and the other half was done by ai.
Commented about this as well where I feel like they set up for an entire season the importance and then just suddenly told us there's no importance. 🤦🏻
It was such a weak series, rounded off with a true-to-type nonsensical finale. I enjoy the Podcast, weirdly, but I don’t buy a lot of the false positivity and excitement. There’s a moment in this segment where Cristel Dee questions it, and the conversation is swiftly diverted onto something else with a throwaway remark that Sutekh just ‘likes the tea’. There was no continuity between the episodes, beyond random sprinkles of snow. They didn’t address the snow either, really. Why could she command the weather? Why did it matter? Also, why would a God of Death concern himself with something as insignificant as the identity of a random women on Earth? Surely, if he possesses the power to kill an entire planet with dust, and can latch onto the TARDIS then eventually corrupt it, why couldn’t he access the Doctor’s bio-scan of Ruby and run the DNA test himself? Also, he killed Ruby’s biological and adoptive mothers in a cloud of dust without much thought so it’s not like he intended to reconnect them only to torture Ruby by killing them in front of her. There’s no logic. RTD resurrected the series to kill it again with leaps like this. Also, how is a God, who harnesses enough power to wipe out entire planets, killed by a random dog lead and a timely ride through the time vortex? Surely if he was strong enough to survive countless journeys on the back of the TARDIS, being set free wouldn’t do much damage.
