    Corinne, this is brilliant! I have a problem, though. I created the graphic in Cricut Design Space. I tried using the snipping tool to save it both as a jpg and an png. I even tried converting using software to create a png for inkscape but I can't get rid of the box that the snipping tool used to select the image. If any of this makes sense, can you let me know how to import an image from Cricut Design Space to inkscape, if possible.

    • @CorinneBlackstone
      @CorinneBlackstone  Před rokem

      None of that makes sense since the snipping tool does not create a box. If you created the design in design space you are going to have more trouble than its worth to try and use this hack. You are going to lose quality of the image and its probably just going to frustrate you to no end sadly. I would say instead do all the work outside of DS like I show so you get a full quality image.

    Thank you so much for the tutorial! I am getting a laptop and printer to do print, then cut. Do you use a laptop and if so, what kind?

    Hi thank you for sharing your knowledge with us to make our projects easier to make. I'm new to Inkscape and cricut print then cut. I have a 8.5 x 11 picture of my daughter that I want to print. How do I print it from Inkscape? It's not a png file it's just downloaded to my downloads as a jpeg. Please help 😢 thank you

    I re-watched to see if I missed something, but can you confirm if, when you go to print, do you select borderless printing or anything? I know for my Epson WF printer, even if the image is 8.5 x 11, it will shrink it down to fit within a small border ( 1/8" or 1/4" I think?) This would throw off the cut image if you size it to 8.5 x 11 in cricut then when you go to cut.

    Hello, I have watched both of these videos on the hack. When I do the rectangle for the painters tape the cut out is not 8.5x11 it is slightly wider and slightly shorter! I have done it multiple times, checking the size of black rectangle, I have calibrated my cricut to no success. I tried putting my image on and cutting anyway and no matter where i place it inside it does not cut it properly. it cuts slightly above and to the right of the image! please any suggestions is good.

      I think Cricut has caught on to this hack, as it's been out for years actually...and had made it so that their page is a bit off from standard letter size dimensions. That's my conspiracy theory and I'm sticking to it. They may come out with a new Cricut with larger print and cut allowance so of course they'd want us to buy that. What you can do is just rescale your printed image over and over on plain paper and print in grayscale (you will probably have to do this a lot until you get it just right) and notate how much you scaled each test page so that when you scale one that lines up with the Cricut, you will know to scale all the rest of your images using those same numerical values. For instance, I almost got mine to line up when I reduce my image -4% and shift it down 2 points and to the right 2 points. I am going to test it out on different images and see if this works for all of them.

      @@namehidden3789 I do believe you are right.
      Reason being that I was able to accomplish this hack successfully with a borrowed cricut. As soon as the software update, it was no longer importing at 8.5x11 it was always 8.499x11 or 8.5x10.98.
      Did you ever do the comparison test? I'd be interested in the results.

    Hi this is fantastic thank you! I have a question, I don’t understand why you printed the cut image ( the one all black) and how you got this colored one. I know it’s a dumb question, I’m really new to this

    • @CorinneBlackstone
      @CorinneBlackstone  Před 3 lety +2

      Oh do not print the black image you cut the black image. You print the colored image from inkscape. That’s how you get it colored. Then you load the black image to design space and cut that

      Sadly cricut has had issues with lining up cuts since recent updates. It is not noticeable on things like vinyl because you are not cutting along a line. But with this hack the only fix I have found right now is to adjust the position of your paper based on where it is cutting incorrectly
