      @M Soccer only lasts in poor countries or countries without big sports markets. Soccer will never be more popular in countries that already have a big sport market like US and Canada and Australia. It's the opposite, soccer will eventually get overtaken, probably, but only if there's money to be made.

    80's basketball was basketball at its apex. It was a culmination of skill, finesse, and physicality.
    Sure there's still plenty of skill, finesse, and athleticism in the modern game but the physicality along with the passion is gone. No more hand-checking, hard fouls constantly, severe trash-talking and heated rivalries to the utmost degree. We'll never see basketball fans like this or physicality ever again.

    • @omnivorous65
      @omnivorous65 Před 4 lety +6

      What? There is so much more skill in today's game than back then. 2:32. A shooting guard, Danny Ainge, at the 3 point line with a defender sagging off 8ft and he is not taking the shot? Both teams would get absolutely hammered by today's top teams. The defence by current standard is atrocious. Maybe you have the occasional hard foul. Big deal. But that defence would be shredded by a team like Houston or the GSW of the last couple of years. Half of the players on the court could not shoot a long ball, accuracy and range is just poor. And these were the top teams. Today's defence needs to cover soooo much more real estate. Anyone who claims that these were better basketball players than contemporary players are simply delusional.

      Alexander Melnikov yeah they pulled an incredible victory in both those games.. that’s like when people start making excuses for lebron it’s like look at bird his team wasn’t near as talented as lakers but they found a way to win..lebron had wade bosh.. then Allen bosh and wade.. then love n Kyrie m yeah with Durant gsw were more talented but the cavs n lebron had plenty of chances to win games n blew it n blew the series.. if lebron is he goat he’s gotta get that done.. in 2016 his team was just as talented if not more imo.. kyrie completely outplayed curry in that series the best player on the warriors.. when ur second best player outplayed their best player it doesn’t make u the goat for winning.. look at what bird n Celtics did it was all time great

    Larry Bird was clearly the star of the team, but I find it very nice how Cedric Maxwell stepped up on game seven and leaded the team to get the win, and Larry knew Maxwell and didn't start a competition just because he was the star. That team was about doing what was necessary to win titles, and that is just awesome as fuck

    Watching this reminded me how outdated the Boston Garden was- even by 1984 standards. No air conditioning, obstructed view seats all over the place, the hallways leading into that arena reeked of piss like you wouldn't believe. It took a decade or so after this before the new place opened. I think the 88 Stanley Cup final was the straw that broke the camel's back when the lights went out during the game and the building was evacuated.
