    The Katana Go is amazing. The simplicity and ease to just plug in and get started instantly is well worth the purchase. It has more than tripled my practice sessions! I use it more than I use my amp now. Amazing piece of kit

    I had the Nux Mighty Plug Pro and it's been nice. I just got the Katana Go and this thing in my opinion destroys the competition. The sound, the features, being able to switch presets and access the tuner without using your phone is amazing.

  • @dasninjastix

    I have them both and the Line 6 Pod Express. I like the Mustang for the clean amp selection and the modulating reverb. The Katana is very impressive when you figure out how to dial in you want. The Pod Express is the better headphone experience but obviously the least friendly form factor. I'm hoping Line 6 or Positive Grid make a new headphone amp module as well. Both the Mustang and Katana get plenty loud but there's not much drive with either. Thankfully I own some Meze headphones and a Campfire Cascade which turned out to be a perfect pairing. IEMs also seem like a good fit for both but definitely need to watch the volume knob. The Katana's volume wheel is much better than the Mustangs, way harder to accidentally bump the volume.

    From all the videos I've seen of this, I like the sound a lot better than my Mustang Micro, and I like the addition of a screen and a tuner. However, I wish one of these app-based headphone amps included a physical "effects" modification button on it. I like to change the delay time on the fly on my Mustang Micro to get that "whooshing" sound when the delay time is changed. I wouldn't want to have to go into the app every time I use the headphone amp, I'd rather just set up some parameters on the headphone amp with an app and then ignore the app until I want to make large modifications again. It would be nice if the presets included an option to tie the level of a specified effect to a physical button. This way, too, you wouldn't have to waste a preset slot if you wanted an amp by itself plus the same amp with a bit of an effect - you could just turn the effect on and off.

    I have an SG (passive pickups): i recently picked up the katana go.....put of the advertised 30 presets, 10 are like Mix ready or recording ready, a lot of them really require some firther tweaking/refining to get that sweet spot .....or maybe it's just my SG which is known for a more darker sound and it could sound brighter say on a Telecaster......ny general opinion of most dist/high gain presets is that they are bit FUZZY /muddy and dont cut through.....again it just could be my SG.....would like others opinions if used on other guitars

      @JohnvanCapel Před měsícem +1

      @@christophervincent8420 The AmPlug 3 is honestly just behind the times in most respects.
      No Bluetooth, one amp-model per unit (albeit with 2 channels), sound quality not fantastic (the AC30 manages to be *okay*, anything else just sucks), very limited effects. The rhythm tracks built-in are nice, but can't hold a candle to Bluetooth'ing a full backing track to it.
      It also still has the problem where it straight-up won't fit properly in some guitars - anything with a deeper jack cavity than normal or with it at an even slightly awkward angle, no AmPlug for you.
      Lastly, it still takes ye olde AAA batteries instead of having an internal rechargeable one.

    The Mustang is very lame, got it, sold it.
    The features of the Katana are great but…there is a lack of medium frequencies, yes even with the eq, I found that the medium is not in the good spot.
    But for the price, size, features…
    One last con :
    The volume of your phone via Bluetooth is dependant of the Katana’s volume, so when you want to lower the volume of the guitar you ALSO lower the volume of your phone (the backing track for exemple).
    So this make this (to me) main feature a bit tricky !
