I had the original Optima when I was a kid. We had constant problems with the original servo mounts so my Dad, being a machinist built me an aluminum mount that the servo screwed down on to. The new version has a very similar design. I also had the belt drive and it made a huge different for the reliability of the car. I built my new release with the belt drive!!
Great video! I have a Kyosho Turbo Raider which came with gold shocks. I broke the bottom mount and collar on one of the shocks. Do you think the Triumph kit would be best best bet or do you know if there is a different options? Thanks!
I had the newer Optima Mid, still have it but its banged up alot, good stuff. The wheels did not have foam, that wide plastic ring you show was in them only.

Might be interesting to do a comparison video of the unbuilt kits to each other. I hope you're right about the re-release Javelin and Turbo Optima too. BTW, the 85 Optima tyres did not have foam inserts, they had a wide plastic ring that inserts into the tyre.

A comparison of the two unbuilt kits would be cool. There are not too many NIB '85 kits around.

Im restoring a vintage turbo optimal right now. I have to get a few more parts to finish it yet.
Are the suspension arms the same on the 2016 version as on the vintage?

The parts are similar and some may fit and some may fit with minor modifications. Sorry I couldn't be more helpful.
