Thank you so much. My husband burnt the bottom of my le Creuset pan thanks to you itâs clean.
I inherited my turquoise oval Le Creuset dutch oven from my stepfather, who had it before he and my Mom started dating in 1972. I used these cleaning techniques and it looks good - definitely not like new but just fine. Its working great after 50 years!! How many pans last that long? Thanks for offering these cleaning tips
The baking soda/ water then boil worked so well! I really didn't think it would but wow! My pan wasn't too bad but had some baked on stains that wouldn't budge. After trying this technique it looks like new!!!
Thankyou so much for cleaning the outside, that's what I was having trouble with.Going to try the baking soda, peroxide!
For stains and burnt food I just throw a dishwasher pod with hot water and let it sit overnight and itâs magic
My beautiful le creuset Dutch oven often gets stained and darkened. I've tried soaking it with baking soda and water, then scrubbing, didn't work. Tried simmering it with same mixture and scrubbing..no better. Tried baking soda and vinegar with simmering, then scrubbing..nope. Used Barkeeper's Friend (VERY toxic to skin..use gloves.. and don't breathe it in!)..better, not great.
Heard on CZcams to use bleach and let it sit for an hour and YES! It looked brand new without scrubbing! Make sure to pour out bleach and thoroughly wash pot with soapy hot water.
Did you use hot water???
@@Pattymelt415 Nope, just warm water with bleach, sitting and soaking. Didn't have it on stove with heat at all; I actually don't think doing that would be good (wouldn't want to breathe hot bleach fumes).
I think I just set it on my washing machine away from kitchen where I wouldn't smell the bleach while it was soaking.
It came out looking brand new. Make sure to pour out bleach water, then wash with warm/hot soapy water to remove all bleach before use, of course.
Hope you get same results! đ

Just put the lid on next time and u wonât smell the bleach. My Mother always used bleach for pot or cup stain, counter stains too. She just let it sit too. All stains come out. Iâm going to do it on my Le crueset because I didnât think to try it on that cause the surface gloss has worn away. Is it still good to use if the surface gloss is worn away?
Ive alway used sos and dawn, I've had mine for 10 years.
What size is that?
It works -
This did not work for me...
Care to give it a try on mine?
What strength should the hydrogen peroxide be?
Could you use easy off heavy duty to clean the pot?
I've had my beautiful and trusty white dutch oven just like hers (since 1971!) and have never had a problem cleaning it. But it got heated in an oven for 30 minutes and there is a dark brown stain on all the surfaces that just does not come out with scrubbing (have always soaked it and used Bon ami) - can't soak the sides in bleach. What is another option?
Yellow cap Easy Off.
Use gloves, spray it in a garbage bag and let it sit over night in the sealed bag. Come back the next morning and use water and a sponge and you're good.
I have used the powder you recommended, Barkeepers, and it totally removed the shine of the bottom. It is now very rough and lost itâs shine. I regret so much watching your video.
Help! I accidentally used Bar Keepers Friend on the OUTSIDE of the dutch oven. Now it looks matte and terrible. Any ideas on how to fix this? The first time I used these techniques it worked beautifully but I'm afraid I ruined it. No luck Goggling the info so far
That is what she used in the video.
Thoughts on oven cleaner? I have seen some impressive results!
Hi! We have not tested that product, and therefore cannot speak to its efficacy or safety. Our recommended cleaning methods are shown in this video, and additional information is available on our website: www.lecreuset.com/blog/how-to-clean-your-dutch-oven.html. Thank you for reaching out!

I love the cooking performance of the oven we had but the ceramic coating started to come off in the center of the bottom of the pot after about ten years....is there a warranty after that length of time?
Hi there, we're so sorry to hear about this. If you're in the US, please visit this page for info about submitting a warranty claim: www.lecreuset.com/warranty.html. If you're outside the US, please visit the Le Creuset website for your location, and submit a claim there. Please note that we are currently experiencing some delays and are working as quickly as possible to address all concerns. Thank you!
Hello, your enamel is not ceramic. If it were that would mean that clay was slathered over cast iron, then fired in a kiln, and then glaze fired in a kiln. None of that happened in the making of your vessel; instead, an enamel with tiny, tiny glass shards was sprayed, and into your pot. Then that spray was fired in an oven, melted, and cooled. The resolve was a hard smooth surface.
@@c.w.6318 You are correct. I'm sure the original poster will feel gratified that you took the time to educate him - maybe that knowledge will even put the missing enamel back on his dutch oven...

Thatâs what Iâm wondering too. I googled it, but didnât have time yet to read the lengthy warranty.
Didn't work for me. Will try other options.
How much baking soda went with the hydrogen peroxide?
Try bleach water, let sit overnight.
The first demos that she does were helpful and impressive. But the 3rd demo where sheâs focused on cleaning the exterior is the reason I wanted to see this video. She shows you what to do and then goes back for a repeat cleaning (understandable). But then she says this will look as good as new, before she puts it down and hides it behind the white pot! You can tell that the red one does not look anywhere as good as new⊠this is discouraging!
I have a Le Creuset Enameled dutch oven mine is a "Doufeu" among many other Le Creuset pieces.. My dutch oven looks like the one in her hands, all stained and brown.. Looks exactly like hers.. I tried everything, including "Bar Keepers Friend".. nothing works.. Mine is still stained, brown, and no longer is sas easy to clean as it used to be.. I've contacted Le Creuset.. They've graciously said they will replace it.. They don't make mine anymore. They now make a standard oval dutch oven.. I'd rather my Doufeu.. But I'm concerned mine, the interior finish has been damaged by repeated serious cleaning efforts.. I've never put anything abrasive in it, scour pad.. But I have used oven cleaner.. I most certainly tried what she did and it didn't work at all on mine.. I guess the interior is damaged.. .... I'm just going to return mine and take the new one..
Do they warranty a new one, cause mine is like hers too. Their enamel doesnât seem to withhold too long on the inner surface. Which department did u contact for a new one?
Someone said to use bleach water and let it sit overnight. Apparently all the stains come out.
Hello, I'm a LC newbie, informed where cleaning and care, heating and cooking is important. While I haven't needed to use baking soda, I'm not sure I would. If it is a gentle abrasive, that would go against the recommendations published by Le Creuset. They recommend using only hot soapy water, sponges, or vinyl brushes to scrub these enameled vessels with. Also, the "non-abrasive" sponges, are abrasive. For instance, Scott sponges are advertised as "non-abrasive", but are stiffened with an aluminum substance. Aluminum would be very abrasive on these enameled surfaces. On the other hand, Miss Chan has demonstrated the cleaning ability of these alleged non abrasive chemicals and sponges. Maybe she is right.
Normally Iâd absolutely agree, however LC has posted this on their page. So I guess that these specific ânon-abrasiveâ.. abrasive sponges are okay to use.
But for most washes youâre absolutely right. Just a soft rag and soap and water
There are many nonabrasive scrubbers that donât have any aluminum. I hope you have found some!
Use a bunsen burner on the inside. Trust me. Chef of 30 years.
Use ketchup to soak, and a dirty horse as a scrubber. Trust me. Chef for 300 years.
Ordered two iron trivets and have never received my package. I began calling last week once I saw that UPS listed the package as delivered. However, I was told by the LeCreuset Custer service that the package was delivered to my local post office, but it was never delivered to me. I called LC customer service today and was hung up on twice. They were rude and the information I received was conflicting!! I have spent so much money with this brand, if I had known they had horrible CS that would have never happened! I will not be ordering any thing else from the brand.
Follow up with the post office, bring the tracking number!
What type of cleaner powder is this?
Hi! This video shows Bar Keeper's Friend as well as baking soda. We also have a liquid cast iron cleaner if you're interested in that too: www.lecreuset.com/cast-iron-cookware-cleaner-1/ECC251.html. Thanks!
@@lecreusetUS I have used it and it totally removed the shine of the bottom of my dutch oven. It is now very rough to the touch. So upset I tried this.
See, it also get stained and greasy.. So it's just a waste of money for me. đ
