    I love rainy days in LAX especially during reverse ops. One of my best memories is when I was in a US Air 757-200( it was in 2011 and that was a very rare visitor for us LA spotters back then). We took off on 7L during heavy rain and on top of that I was seated in front of the engine. That was nice.

    If you hadn't seen my social posts the last couple of days, today begins the channel’s new upload schedule. There will still be a new video everyday, but now, weekday videos will go live at 2:00pm central, weekend videos at 10:00am central. In case you are wondering why this video was uploaded at 2:00pm instead of 4:00pm. Also, you may notice that the videos will now have chapters to help you navigate through them easier. I've also added some new information to the description as well. Enjoy!

    I've seen several of your flights. I think one of my favorite things is you showing your legs & feet getting comfortable right as you sit down! Love that.
    I've also noticed that listening to the purr of the plane in flight on my Sony headphones can put me to sleep if I'm not very careful!

    • @sla31
      @sla31  Před rokem

      Oh course, I started showing my legs and feet because people wanted to know how much legroom there was. But, I've become known now as the Chuck Taylor guy haha. Many people have left comments before about how they fall asleep listening to the buzz of the plane, epically with headphones, so you're not alone there! Thanks for watching my friend!

    Love the hum of that IAE V2500! I find the AA 320’s the oddball of the fleet, they love to use them on the shorter high density routes. Anyways, another fantastic report my friend! Doesn’t get any better!

      The A320 really is the oddball of the American fleet. American has a much less diverse fleet compared to DL and UA. They only have, what, 40 or 50 A320's. So, they're not always easy to find in the schedule haha. Thanks for watching my friend!

      I used to be so afraid and dreaded flying. The one day on a trip, our plane slammed into the runway so hard it snapped 2 of the 3 landing wheels off. The plane skidded on the bottom and the left engine fell off and hit a shuttle bus and started on fire. The side of the plane cracked open and 10 seats fell out. Once it stopped we jumped on the rubber slide and ran away screaming. Now I'm not afraid, because it can't possibly happen again.

      Phoenix is indeed a huge city. And with the clear views in this video, it's size is definitely put on full display. I think Phoenix is the 11th largest US city, when using land area covered. Hard to believe there are 10 cities that cover more land. That said, I think most of the cities that beat Phoenix are cities in Alaska and Montana that have more land, but far fewer people.

    • @sla31
      @sla31  Před 2 lety +1

      Honestly, I've never really thought about it. I actually kind of like turbulence. Bouncing around a bit makes it a little more interesting, if you ask me. Plus, I've been on so many flights now, and I've been on some REALLY bad flights with severe turbulence. So, if it's like it was in this video, it really doesn't bother me. Maybe that would help you. Watching one of my videos with severe turbulence. Maybe it would help you see the difference between really bad turbulence that happens on VERY VERY rare occasions, and normal everyday turbulence. And, well, I'm typing this message right now, so I made it through even the worst of the worst. If you want to see some, dangerous, severe turbulence visit my video here: czcams.com/video/Tb-u8j9gX7I/video.html. If you don't want to watch it, I understand, but like I said, seeing how bad it can be, may help you get though the smaller stuff easier. And again, even in the worst of situations, the pilots and crew got us safely to our destination.

    16:00 that must be an annoying sound to hear while flying.

    • @sla31
      @sla31  Před 2 lety +1

      I actually think that's one of the best noises possible when flying. For me, it's a sign of the true power behind the engines. Some people love it, some people hate it. What you're hearing here are thousands of small sonic booms. When the engines are set to takeoff power, the fan blades are actually spinning faster than the speed of sound. So, the tips of the fan blades are creating sonic booms as they spin. As you climb and power to the engines is reduced, the booms dissipate as they drop below the speed of sound. You only hear this if you're sitting in front of the engines. Pretty much every jet engine has this. Thanks for watching my friend!

      @@sla31 You're welcome. So you mean, when the plane is in a slant/crooked direction (at an angle), it is still taking off; and then when it becomes at 180°, it is called as "inflight". Is that right?

      Do the research on how many mishaps worldwide there have been. They are so computerized that two crashes were caused because the captain and co pilot were unable to regain manual pilot control when the computer wasn't doing all the right things. Look up crashes on you tube.

      @@Suzi195 Look up all of the crashes caused by pilot error. Look up all the 737 Max crashes made by Airbus' direct competitor. Anyone can "do research" to confirm their bias if they wish to.
