    lived in my car for 3 years. I usually kept everything in my trunk so I had more space in the cab. I would mostly sleep in Walmart parking lots where the semi trucks would park. tried to sleep in the front seat once and woke up with my feet and ankles so swollen it was painful. never again. I had the hardest time trying to sleep in a bed after that. I slept better on my couch. after a while I finally ventured back to a bed. I hope I never have to go back to living in my car again but it definitely made me stronger and more appreciative of the minor things people take for granted. good luck to you.

      @@ahmedmushtaq3814 You can make window covers with reflectix and a dark fabric facing the outside on all windows. You can also use perforated vinyl on the rear windows and rear winshield and a windshield reflectix in the front. Stay in places like walmart, truck stops, hospitals, hotels and your good to go. Always take precautions

    Ok so quick tip. Tint your Windows!!! It's worth it. My routine is the same, but I don't have to wait until it's dark to go to my sleeping spot. And I usually get work done on my computer, etc.etc. No one knows I'm there. It's amazing!! The only thing is that I do freak people out when i get out my car. Lol. 😆😆

    • @MichelleSSmith

      Sisi it's $200 or less to tint all windows front and back. And she probably don't have a car payment since she had the car for 7+ years. Why buy a van?! That's an unnecessary expense.

    MAKE SURE YOU HAVE A METAL HAMMER OR CROWBAR IN THE BACK SEAT WITH/NEAR YOU FOR WHEN YOU SLEEP - IT'S A GREAT (LEGAL!) PROTECTION DEVICE & ALSO SERVES AS A WAY TO QUICKLY BREAK A WINDOW FOR AN EXIT SHOULD YOUR CAR EVER CATCH FIRE!!

      its not fun or safe. I've been there. trying to find a place to sleep without police or sheriffs hassling you and running you off, not being able to cook or heat up food you had to get from the food pantry, having to use baby wipes to clean yourself, or the embarrassment of going into a gas station restroom with a bag of clothes and hygiene gear and coming out with wet hair and different clothes on. asking gas station attendant's to use their microwave to heat up food you brought with you. having to explain your self to police or management of the businesses where your trying to sleep or use their facilities. its not fun at all. you don't run around bragging about it to anyone, let alone making CZcams channel's. you also don't have brand new, name brand, expensive items laying around your car while your playing around on your expensive phone with your new phone holder. none of this is what you see if someone is honestly HOMELESS. she's choosing/scamming everyone for money and attention. smh. she wouldn't be so perky about it if she didn't have a choice and all her brand name luxuries.

      MadRobot_Malfunction I’ve slept in my car for 2 weeks until I found a room for rent I’m a school bus driver and didn’t make enough to rent a 2 bedroom which I needed because I have a son even tried to do efficiency to 1 bedroom but in jersey even that is steep I would have to get another job and that would be just to make ends meet not to save . I sent my son to live with his father until I became stable . Keep in mind his father is in a relationship as well so his survival chance with my son was doable . On my end it’s just me . While living in my car I was very scared at night in the city because of crime . It was no way in shape or form safe but I did it for two weeks . Like this woman I would go to well lit gas stations and truck stops for needs such as hygiene and food and gas . Most times I’d park in the suburbs or outskirts of the city where it was safer I never got a goods night rest tho . I did have my dog with me as well he helped me through most of my nights but I couldn’t help to think that this had to be animal neglect we had everything we needed and he protected me but a car was no place for us both especially in the city and especially at night . Nobody at work knew sometimes I’d sneak into the bus yard and sleep on my schoolbus if they saw me on camera they never said anything to me about it . I like the fact that she is upbeat and has a positive attitude it’s not so bad when you’re by yourself but when you have a child and pet the anxiety and sense of failure you feel as well as just surviving is overwhelming at times .. the struggle doesn’t last forever but it is definitely real and can happen to anyone . Living proof

If she works I feel she can put her money to what she wants . It’s not easy to peel layers of yourself to the world and welcoming all forms of judgement from people who may or may not understand I applaud her for her courage

      i dont like arguing so i wont say more past this, rent is usually biweekly or monthly, those skincare products last WAY longer than that, going a entire year without those products might only pay for one month of rent if at all, I dont assume you to understand, Im going to assume youre someone very young that has never had to fend for themselves, trust me, it is NOT enough

    • @annaliese3715
      @annaliese3715 Před 6 lety +4

      Don't know where yalls live but rent where I live is usually around $1000-$2000 dollars. . . so yeah not buying products will do absolutely nothing

    • @lushfanatic8028
      @lushfanatic8028 Před 6 lety +2

      She can afford an apartment, so buying expensive skincare is her prerogative. Beside spending $70 on a skincare product every 3-6 months is definitely not affecting her lifestyle. That averages to around $25 per month. Saving that is definitely not going to affect whether or not she has an apartment if she cannot afford it. She might as well care for herself while she can considering the $25-$30 per month won’t do anything for her. Saying that purchasing drunk elephant skincare products affect whether or not she lives in her car is asinine. 🙄🙄🙄🙄

    I've seen a lot of judgmental comments on her videos... I live in southern California (born and raised) and the rent here is absolutely ridiculous. Even working 2 jobs and going to school, I can't afford rent by myself. Everyone I know lives with their parents, has tried to move out and ended up back with their parents because not many cant afford 800-1000 in rent out of high school and into their early 20's. I unfortunately don't have family support (substance abuse problems on their part) and I'm homeless as well. No one I know who I finally tell I'm homeless would have known otherwise. "But you're too pretty, but you're so clean, you act so normal". you don't have to be dirty and gross and crazy to get into these situations. I'm an honor roll student at my local college. it sucks but I'm trying to get out of this situation. I've actually found out multiple people I've worked with/gone to school with have also struggled with homlessness, and you'd have never known unless they opened up to you. Seems to be a widespread problem.

      The loneliness is def one of the tougher things about living in a car. Ive been living in mine for 1 1/2 years. But i love not being stressed about the ever soaring rent. Just make sure to get out from time to time where there are people and you wont feel as alone. Take walks outside. Ive learned that staying caged up inside the car vs going outside of your car, even if I'm alone has a huge impact on my sanity. Humans like communication... So if you can, call friends from time to time and talk, laugh, joke around.. You'll feel rejuvinated mentally and emotionally. Also I find that watching funny CZcams videos helps curb depression enough to keep me going, endorphins and whatnot. Maybe do a live stream on youtube and chat with some of us in similar situations. Its not the best situation, but taking what we can get definitely makes the difference as opposed to just sitting in the car 100% unfulfilled. Hope this helps 👍

    You showed up on my feed the other day and I just now watched this--I don't get how you can fall asleep, but I am an insomniac so maybe that's the difference. Plus I am 5'9" not sure that would work for me, yet I am really glad it works for you! I am from MN and I didn't catch that accent moment, but have lived away from the US (and MN!!) for a long time. I am back in MN right now taking care of my mom, but live in New Zealand . I kind of want to stay for a while and looking at alternatives if you know what I mean. I love the insight. Just subscribed=D

    Hi Katie. I hope you are doing fine. I can relate to living a car as years ago when I was around 32 I had a good job and had money in the bank but was forced out of a apartment due to a leaky roof. It wasn't for a long time but I remember the routine. It was a challenge but very economical. Have you considered getting a Toyota Prius as they seem like the perfect car for camping etc. I may get one for traveling when I retire soon and just stay in it instead of paying for a motel plus the mileage is great. I did find it was hard to really relax living in a car as it was constantly having the feeling of what's next.

    If you live in your car out of choice, and not necessity (as I'm seeing people state you're doing it because you like to travel), you should state that fact in your description where you're posting your PayPal, etc. It's very misleading.

      Con artist,REAL homeless people are NOT buying expensive makeup,toothpaste,and camera holders...they would buy the basics,and save for a place,not ask for donations,SMDH! I know a con when I see one.

      Being homeless is a serious issue. I agree. She needs a disclaimer that she's not homeless especially when you accepting donation. Not all people will go through all the videos to see if she's homeless or not.

      Darke Deviant fully agree! I lived in my car bc I had no choice! I was in a different state than where I was from and got kicked out. I had no where to do and i worked . I waited tables so sometimes I could afford a cheap hotel room. There was no pay pal I had no phone. Ppl who lie and beg for money make me sick
