Bank Fishing for Bluegills - Using Worms For Panfish

- Can CZcams help me become a better fisherman? In this episode I am fishing from the bank for bluegills. I am using worms both on the bottom, and under a bobber, to catch panfish. I catch one really nice red ear sunfish on the bottom and one using a float. I also catch a bunch of nice bluegills fishing with a bobber. I had to leave the fish biting when it started pouring rain. To catch these panfish I was using a Shimano Sienna 1000 spinning real with 10 lb braid. I was fishing that on a Diawa Sweepfire spinning rod .

it is the simplest way to catch fish but something about watching the bobber go down is exciting! nice fish!
It is very fun and satisfying. Thanks for watching DC!
some nice sized gills!!!
Thanks man, it was a great time.
You could be a great hypnotist, you have such a calming voice.
You are getting... sleepy.
That red eared sunfish was a nice one.
Thanks! I am always happy to get those big ones
hay i gotta feelin uncle steve would be proud to see this. 👍👍🎣
I hope so.
HUGE Shellcracker!! They fight 😤 💪 super hard!!! Big bluegill as well!! Great video 📹 👍
Look nice place my friend
Thanks Chuch'
That was a monster red ear. Very nice bluegills too.
👍
Super fun, always the best vids!
👍
Now this is more my style, Pan fishing never gets old! Awesome vid bro!
Thanks man, it really is fun.
Sometimes catching Bluegills with worms is still just plain fun. Good video. Fish on!
Just like when I was a kid... :)
Me too. Good times.
Fishing With Vance by far the easiest to enjoy. Sometimes the grind of bass fishing can get very frustrating and discouraging. Crappie and catfish can too. I consider bluegill and shellcracker to be "clutch" fish as they have saved me from the dreaded skunk many, many times.
The red ear sunfish was huge. Good fishing.
Thanks Nathan4071!
Great pan fishing action buddy!
Thanks MH!
and the panfish video comes in CLUTCH! Good Stuff Man
Thanks!
the red ear sunfish was a nice catch
Thanks Ken, he was a good'n
I am going to have to do a panfish vid now I am all pumped! Great vid!

Great video and them was some nice bluegills
Thanks man!
Nice fish and great video 👍🏽
Thanks!
nice sized fish. Great videoo
Thanks Hop!
Those were some healthy and pretty bream!
Yes they were, thanks!
Love the videos! Informative but also very entertaining. I'm pretty sure that anyone who can see me fishing is very entertained (or thinks I'm insane). From apologizing to the worms & fish to having to pull a Bluegill out of a large-mouth Bass' mouth yesterday to catching almost as many trees as fish, I provide hours of live comedy for the residents of the houses on the bluffs along the Medina River in Texas. Thanks for all the time you put into the great videos!
Thanks Ann, That sounds realistic to me 👍
nice fish man. huge sunfish
Thanks! They are fun to catch!
nice ,wet and realistic , thanks
👍
Man, a couple of those were real nice size!
A lot of fun on the light gear!
Love me some Bluegill catchin'! Awesome fun!
That shellcracker did a burnout off the boat ramp!...lol
He is ready for Nascar Fish Series
lol
Old school style, simple and effective.
Definetly realistic lol that was a nice blue gill dang . Bout 10 a those I could lay back and relax rest a day after a plate a those . That was a great episode !
bulging eyes bluegill, really had that look of being overwhelmed! ; ) cool to see You braving the elements and having some fun!
Rain don't scare me... lighting, maybe.
Dude I didn't realize how fun it was fishing for these panfish like bluegill, it's a nice break from bass! I haven't tried using worms yet for them, but the pond I go they like wax worms on bobbers. also been getting very lucky with the strike king bitsy minnow cranks in fire tiger and Tennessee Shad color. another awesome video man! I'll give this method a try too!
Panfish really are a fun change of pace. You get way more bites!
im definitely learning that, I think they bream/bluegill either just are spawning here in my part of SC, or have have just spawned this past week from what I heard. love the bites you get from em, they hit the bait good.
great video! love panfishing, i really want to catch a shellcracker...never got one, yet.
They put up a great fight!
Great place to fish man!! gotta love fishin' in some rain like that
No one else around :)
Pound per Pound those rascals (Shellcrackers) pull harder than any fresh water fish there is....sound like you are having a good toime too. Thx for sharing homiee. Stay Dry
Catching those big sunfish is really fun. I wonder how they taste?
Really good...people go back & forth arguing which taste better between Them bream and crappie....life long argument too. THE FIGHT IS SICK!!
Realistic Fishing oh they are good. Bout like crappie. Get ya about 4 or 5 like that one, and you got yourself a pretty good meal, maybe even a meal for two people.
Good looking sunfish! Nice vid
Thanks!
Some really gorgeous Bluegills you caught and that was an awesome Sunfish!!! I got a Shimano Sienna 4000 awesome little reel!! The drag on them are pretty cool!! Take care and tight lines!!!!
Thanks for watching Rodney!
Another great video!! Congrats on 3K, your channel keeps getting bigger!
Thanks!
You sir are a panfish master lol
Lol, far from it. but I do like catching them.
Awesome video man, you got some good size ones!
Thanks!
Surprised no other people commented here besides me
hi there 4:50...when you hear that sound in clouds you better run....so dangerous....greetengs
I am so daring. :)
Raining Bluegill!!!!!
Hallelujah!
Nice catches. I will fish in the rain any day. I just hate fishing in the cold.
BTW, I think that rain left you and came to us (SC) since it was pouring very hard last night and this morning.
Might be the case. Its not raining this morning... yet.
Great video man! Thanks for subscribing!
Woo!
brothers did a bit of the same while i bass fished the other day. nice video RF!
Thanks! Big sunfish are always a great time.
hey man awsome videos I'd like to see you fish with the crappie and or trout magnet lures and see what you catch that would be awsome
I have seen them at the store, never tried em.
open the bail next time you need to leave the pole sitting...That huge red ear could have dragged the pole in. Great fishing and that first fish looked like a flounder release... hahaha...
That red ear wasn't quite that big, lol!
Realistic Fishing it doesn't take much to get a pole in the water haha...
Were thinking to yourself, "Where were these big fellas when I was trying to catch a big one for the Dad's tournament?"
Yep! I couldn't find them for the Fishing Dad tournament. lol
that red ear is what we catch down in dale hollow they get huge
Those are fun to catch!
That was a big ol' redear. I have yet to catch one. I guess there are some around here, but not many.
I don't catch them as often as bluegill. They are really fun to catch
Team Cramer Fishing us red ear are mostly river fish but they have them in ponds at the pond I'm my college we have some huge ones!
You guys have a lot more of them down south it looks like, but the Iowa DNR does list them as a species here, so I have a chance! :)
Yes yes I've been doing this for a while now since it's spring in light gear it's so fun! Also cTchknf them on tje fly is so fun to!
Fly fishing for em sounds fun too!
Good video. You probably would have caught a different variety of fish if you were using minnows. Use worms during the summer
What variety might that be?
Interesting rig!!!! Nice mini carolina rig setup. Great vid man. I got you back with a sub!!!!
Awesome, thanks for the sub!
Have you done a catch & cook? Those look like some tasty fish there!
Not yet, hopefully in the future 👍
sunfish r fun to catch when u just want to catch something.
They are always fun to catch :)
As always great video. Congrats on hitting the 3k subscribers mark by the way....mr popular. Lol
Thanks! Its taken a lot of fishing to get here :)
fishing is so horrible but I know it will be worth it in the end. Lol
Fishing is awesome!
Realistic Fishing fishing is fun and only awesome some of the time. Keeping it realistic Where did I hear that from ? Lol
Fun is better than horrible, so I will take that. :)
BTW......gave ya a shout out and gonna paste your link in the description in my next video. Workin on the edit and things now!!!
I will have to check it out.
6:32 hawg. That thing may well have been 11 inches. Huge shellcracker/red ear, especially so being a male.
Oh yeah, I am proud of that one 👊
Realistic Fishing hell yeah, that one was pushing trophy territory. Beautiful coloration too Almost a bluish color to it. I've never caught a shellcracker that color. My favorite one was one i caught a few years ago, roughly 9 3/4 inches, really thick. But what I was really excited about it was it's color . It was bronze, almost like a smallmouth bass. Beautiful fish
Good video. The heavy rain, was this filmed on Friday?
A few days before. It feels like its been raining for weeks here in TN.
I got chased off my community lake by rain Friday, and it rained all day yesterday. Today's not too bad, but it's spending time with the wife day.
Great video man. Love to catch those and just have fun. We just got 1K subs literally mintutes ago.
#TightLinesAndWetNets #TCBO
Congrats on 1000!
Thanks man
Realistic Fishing We should do a collab together if we could make the logistics work out
Do you ever eat them? It's been A LOOONG time since I've had panfish but I remember them being pretty tasty when fried whole. Boney but tasty! I had to crush the thumbs up
I ate more of them when I was younger. I remember them being good. I will have to do a catch and cook one day.
Looking forward to that!
Fillet them to get the bones out. Get em over stove top in beer batter = yum!!
To increase your arsenal try slip bobbers for depth control and whole live healthy nightcrawlers for bigger gills . If you are going to chop up your bait into bits and pieces just use red wigglers or grubs , or wax worms gobbed on a hook or jig, much cheaper, especially if you condition your crawlers. Same applies to minnows, the bigger the bait the bigger the fish and the more active the bait, the more attractive it is. .
That's your advice, try bigger bait? All that does is give small fish something to nibble away without ever getting hooked. 😂
I guess I misinterpreted you statement about learning from youtube, I thought you were saying you are capable of tolerating new ideas and want to learn, when what your really meant was that you already know everything their is about fishing and no one on youtube knows more then you do.What a sick little man.Thumbs down asswipe.
I never asked you for advice. I learn from people who make youtube videos. Not know it all commenters who try to insult me when I don't love their lame advice.
Your hissy fit aside... I have 125 youtube videos about watching youtube fishermen and learning to fish. If you seriously think I don't have a slip bobber, or know that big worms could catch big fish, I mean... I almost thought you were joking but then I saw your crazy response and know I must have hurt your feelings. Geez bro, go fishing or something.
czcams.com/users/edit?o=U&video_id=smjZPBkhMAk - Here is a link to a video I did called "Slip Bobber Bluegills" 😂
Good vid man tight lines rip the lips
Thanks Caleb!
No problem
RIG FLOAT
A small circle hook works better for dragging buddy. Less snags.
Show me on video buddy.
Hey realistic fishing, I know we both fish on ole hickory lake, would you want to meet up one day and do a colab video?
We might could one day. You gonna show me some secret spots?
Yes sir! How could I get in contact with you?
nice video but I don't like the intro
Thanks for letting everyone know. :)
