    I also wanted to comment and say your review is absolutely great for beginners to Hermes quota bags ❀ I also Want to say that I’ve been collecting Birkins and Kelly’s for quite a while and I have experience with almost all of their leathers. My favorite is Togo leather it’s malleable soft and quite hard wearing and does not scratch easily. People usually think Epsom leather is indestructible however it’s actually more fragile, when you scratch an Epsom piece you will find white underneath the color of your bag and it is harder to repair. But if you wanted something that’s very hard wearing and beautiful soft and does not damage easily (except with rain) it would be Togo leather. All leathers have pros and cons specially when you get into exotics or heritage leathers, which are more fragile than regular leathers, But that’s a different story. Depending on if you like structure or if you like a little bit more of a loose look, if I was a first time buyer I would either go with Togo (highly recommended) or Epsom Retourne, Not in Sellier. Epsom in retourne and Sellier are extremely different from each other. Great video. I forgot to mention that in all Birkins and Kelly’s the inside leather is made with Mysore goatskin.

    You should take the stickers off, they are only designed to make sure the bag is immaculate when you purchase it, it will damage the hardware if you leave it on because it’s coming into contact with the atmosphere, enjoy your beautiful bag

    It's so absolutely true when you said the bag is not perfect, I had the same feeling when I received my first bk 30 also in epsom, some stitching are not uniform a clear sign that it was handmade by artisans. I was surprised at first but really enjoyed it in the long run.

    Epsom leather and Epi leather have no common etymology. Epsom is not a French word, it is the name of the town in England where Epsom salts were first discovered to have healing properties. Epsom is also the site of the famed Epsom Downs horse racing track. Perhaps as a nod to its equestrian roots HermĂšs used the name for one of its more durable and versatile leathers.

    If u went with a Togo or Clemence leather in Retourne, it would meld more into your body and not be so rigid. I personally stay away from Epsom due to its inability to be repaired. I compare it to Louis Vuitton's Epi leather. Your color combination is absolutely gorgeous. Congrats on your purchase ❀

    The hardware shine will dim if you leave the plastic stickers on it. I learned that the hard way. So it was good advice.

    Does hardware just refer to all the metal bits on a bag?

    do I need to have sales record to get a constance 18 in Paris ? I had never been in Hermes before, can I get one constance without purchasing other item I don't want?

      You might be able to at FSH if they have a lot in stock, otherwise, because of the rising popularity, George V or Severes might not offer you one so easily.

    • @luxuryinModeration
      @luxuryinModeration  Pƙed rokem

      Sure! Prior to getting the Birkin, I had spent $1874 USD and got $170 VAT back on that. I got $995 VAT back on the Birkin.

    Should we assume that you don't regret the purchase? And you're right, there is no perfection, so just enjoy it for what it is!

    • @luxuryinModeration

      Don’t regret it! But yes, it’s certainly not the “perfect” bag and still has some trade offs to keep in mind 😊

    • @luxuryinModeration

    girl...you should have bought a dupe and tried it out first. this way you would have known all this before and been able to see if it fits into your lifestyle. you shoul have got togo leather. it bends and conforms easier

      I had to get a leather appointment..I was not able to get an appointment through their online lottery system but I was granted an appointment when I asked the FSH sa. This was back in 2021, I think it is harder now to be granted an appointment when asking.

    • @mlamhon3492
      @mlamhon3492 Pƙed 5 měsĂci

      Ok, so did you buy anything from them prior the leather appointment, or you have to purchase those unwanted items on the day before you can get your B30?
