i think it’s mainly bc cowabunga is… outdated to say the least 😭 classic but too classic, especially bc most ppl watching at the time the show was airing were like 10. also gotta think about selling toys. cowabunga has been used and wouldn’t appeal to kids in a walmart in 2015. i was around 8 or so when this show first aired and boyakasha def stuck with me and is now considered pretty iconic. rise tmnt did the same thing with “hot soup”

Bruce Lee's image is a bit of an archetype in Japanese fighting games and anime. My favorite is Young Master Roshi who rocks the Bruce Lee haircut with the black shades.
The other turtles did nothing in this episode 😅. It's so awesome that mikey gets the spotlight episode with casey and mondo gecko for the first time (i don't remember if this episode is or probably from season 2 called mikey get shellacne is his spotlight episode)
i like this episode and everything but I kinda wish that they would have actually had mr x be an actual mutant villain character that been around the city and getting all the mutant villains to destroy the turtles and there allies and I honestly wish that they would have had not have the race thing and have it be mikey and casey jones mondo gecko and that owl wizard that was in season 2 comes out of nowhere and helps mikey and them fight mr x and those mutant villains that was in season 1 and season 2 and then leo and raph donnie april shows up to help them fight them and after they beat mr x and all those mutant villains they leaves and mr x swear that they will destroy all of them and in the credits shredder will be in the shadows saying to mr x you and your team of mutants can be our allies to destroy the turtles and there allies and the episode ends with them both shaking their hands to agree with each other
I get your point, and it's pretty neat. But at the same time, kinda glad Xever got some time to shine. He really hasn't had much since early S2 if you think about it since ever since Bradford got double mutated with the addition of Tiger Claw, Stockman Fly, and now Bebop & Rocksteady, Shredders got alot of mutant henchmen.
