Shooting Hats Like John Marston | The RED DEAD REDEMPTION Flying Hat Shot

- Happy MLK Jr. Day!
The trick shots continue to evolve and this one is no exception! This demonstration of a shooting exhibition comes to us from the 2010 game Red Dead Redemption where John Marston is tasked with helping notable snake oil merchant, Nigel West Dickens, by showing off incredible feats of gunslinging. The shot we’re recreating today is when a ranch hand questions the talent (or the efficiency of the tonic) by challenging John Marston to shoot his hat that he tossed into the air. Mr. Marston hit his shot, but can I?
Enjoy!

It's Snake Oil Y'all. It's been 'round a long long time...
It tasted like it! Lol
That's a tough shooting challenge there pardner! Great shooting!😃
I appreciate it, Tuco! Sometimes it pays to play video games! I got a few ideas doing that!
You replied to my comment on your short. I saw this just then and I'd like to take back my comment. You have my respect brother, that was an INSANE shot 🙌🤯

Some good SaintAndrew lore in this video.
Alex appearing in episodes is canonically accurate.
You have made another wonderful entertaining video.
Thank you very much!

Helluva SHOT! Nice job pal.
I thank you, Brett! Thanks for watching!
Good job
Thank you much, AR!
Well now. That's a nice trick shot. And mastered with a single cylinder load. Cool.😎 And yeah, I'd have stopped too after a perfect hit!😅
Now at 18° here in East Texas, and a 1/2" layer of ice on the ground, there's no shooting being done. 🥶Think I'll just load ammo for the thaw.😏
I wanted to hit the crown! I felt like grazing the brim didn’t feel “Wild West” enough! Haha! So I practiced for this one a bit, but cracking it dead center?! I’d have to say more luck than skill today!
And stay warm! I’ll do the shooting for you in the coming weeks! High 50’s to low 70’s over here!
@@SaintAndrewTV Andrew, if you hit where you aim, there's no luck involved. Thats skill.👍 Now if you hit well, but not where you aim, that's a lucky hit.😉
And I've known a few folks that couldn't hit the ground with their hat! 🤣
Recently been looking into the 10 paces, John Wesley Hardin & J. B. Hickok card shooting exhibition shots. 10 paces is 25ft. That's shorter than the one I do at 33ft (10m). But duplicating those old gunfighters at 25ft sounds like a good one to pursue in a video. And, it's historical too. Note: They shot any card in the deck, and any hole in the card was good. So there's something "to shoot for ". 🤠
@@anangryranger I appreciate it, Wade! The funniest thing happened when I went up to the range. So to preface the story, I have 7 brand new decks of cards in my gun safe for at least 7 tries at the Angry Ranger Ace Hole Shot. Well when I got there and unloaded my gear, no cards. I never loaded them. I felt like such a jackass, but with this new found information you’re giving me, it’s doesn’t necessarily have to be an Ace of Spades! But it would be the most fitting if it was! Thanks for the heads up! Now I just need to hit some playing cards! Only have 364 brand new ones haha!
@@SaintAndrewTV Go get 'em amigo! 👍 I've seen photos of some cards Hickok and Hardin shot, and they weren't centered. Decent groups, but all over the card. Anywhere from 1.75" to 3". I really think doing historical shots are in the true spirit of the old west.
And remember, I trained for weeks, with several hundred rounds, with a S&W mod 28 357mag with fine adjustable sights to do that Ace shot. Mainly did it because I had a few rookies that I wanted to put in their place on the PD range. 😏
@@anangryranger I need to get me some of those rookies to fatten up my wallet! Haha! But I will do that! I’ll see if we can get a tight grouping. Maybe I’ll do a bunch and just do a giant giveaway of random cards with holes put through them! (Given there’s an audience for that!)
Saw that color and I was like "yea, shoot that." Haha
Mr Andrew please change your channel picture it's not good to look like( Αγιος Ανδρέας) Christians don't do such things.🇬🇷✝️
Well that’s a good thing I’m not Christian then.
@@SaintAndrewTV Wrong answer, you have 15 days to comply.
@@iohann.bab.7042Well it’s been 15 days and what are you going to do now?
@@alexs5744 saint Andrew will punish the sinner, maybe he's sick already, I'll pray for his soul.
@@iohann.bab.7042 Doesn’t the Bible mention that you must show mercy and compassion to your enemies or are just so high and mighty that you’ve forgotten that you’re a twat. Even God would call you a twat.
I slowed it down checked it 20 times its not visible even with 1440p also maybe for ppl to believe this (shot) shoot the thing and with no camera cuts walk pick it up and bam nobody cant believe u
Don’t you think if my shooting videos were faked, at least one of 40,000 people would’ve outed me by now? And if you slow down the slow motion, you can see the hat dent when the bullet hits it.
And thank you for watching it 20 times. Good for the view count.
Saint would like to see video or two about the horses the cowboys and gunfighters rode, what saddles they used how to load the saddles with rifle, bed roll, etc, also the type of eating and cooking utensils, how to set up a tripod to cook from and make coffee.
What constituted a bed roll, what food stuffs were easiest to transport and cook all that kind of stuff.
I look forward to all your videos, big fan.
That’s a splendid idea. I need to find horse and saddle to set up this idea, but splendid nonetheless. I actually screenshotted your comment so I can keep it in my mind! Thank you very much!
@@SaintAndrewTV
I'm glad you liked my suggestions, and hope you find the necessary horse and rigs, but watchout for them back kicking Saint lol.
