Costa Rica VLOG - Our Day in Corcovado National Park, Staying at the Sirena Ranger Station

Hello wildlife watchers, it's Jeff here bringing you an all new safari vlog from Costa Rica!
In today's adventure, we're waking up bright and early at the Sirena Ranger Station, one of the few overnight locations inside Corcovado National Park. Yesterday we hiked into this park for 9+ hours, but now that we've settled into life at our base camp, we can now enjoy leisurely nature walks in the surrounding area.
Today I'm taking you on three nature walks where we look for tapirs, sloths, monkeys, peccaries, and more! In between these mini excursions I'll be showing you around the Sirena Ranger Station and what life is like at this unique overnight experience.
The Sirena Ranger Station is a environmentally conscious base that minimizes its impact on the surrounding ecosystem. The base sleeps approximately 70-80 guests a night, serves full-board meals in their cafeteria, and offers plenty of bathrooms to use for freshening up after long day hikes. There's several open-air bunkhouses where everyone sleeps together, which means we had a lot of roommates while staying here. It's definitely communal living but everyone here has been extremely kind and respectful of each other when using the shared spaces.

Going on to Costa Rica with family next week! We will be visiting Corcovado and I'll admit that I was feeling pretty anxious about it until I saw your videos. Although my husband would prefer it all to be a surprise because he loves high adventure, I need to know what to expect so I can fully enjoy it. You guys saw a lot of amazing animals. We are heading to costa rica in january and debating between the day trip and overnight. Do you think the overnight was worth it?

We absolutely loved the overnight. It’s not the most glamorous accommodations - base camp communal living in the jungle. Not your standard hotel type of stay but a wonderful way to really get the immersive Corcovado experience. If you’re comfortable with sometimes being uncomfortable in a base camp type of stay, highly recommend
