It's harder than you think to find a day cab with the specs you want and they cost. There are a ton of sleeper trucks out there and tend to find better deals. Also if you want to covert to a dump, sleeper trucks tend have longer wheelbases. So taking the sleeper off would be easier than stretching the truck.

Let me get this right, pay extra for a sleeper truck. Switch to local runs then pay 10K to take sleeper off. If you catch me doing this shoot me. How about just take off one pallet off the load or 1500 lbs. Sound about right.

Lose a pallet, lose the rate. Simple math. The lighter the rig, the more $ that can be made. I've got gravel haulers in my area running around in W900s and T800s with studio bunks. That's almost 3000lbs of lost load compared to the same wheelbase daycab...

Just keep a sleeper it’s more comfortable

what do you do with the old sleeper bunks? I might like to convert my 83 general daycab to a sleeper if you got one lying around.

Just buy a daycab if that's all you want

.......or you could take a truck you already own and do the conversion instead of buying another used truck you know nothing about. A daycab in my area costs around $20k in my area. If I have these guys do the conversion its $7K. Pretty easy to do the math on this.

I really don’t understand this I mean the money is in customization of a sleeper. What the hell do I want to destroy a sleeper for . 15 to 50k cheaper to buy a day cab. This whole concept makes no sense.

I don't get it. Some people convert to day cab and some people make sleeper cabs. Why wouldn't you just buy what you need
