The new Nike ZoomX Invincible is an insanely cushioned, bouncy long distance trainer from Nike. Featuring their popular (and expensive) ZoomX midsole foam, this shoe won't be for everyone as it's max cushioning can feel a bit unstable and lack precision. I'm curious what YOU think of the new Zoom X Invincible. Let us know in the comments below!

So glad you reviewed this! I’ve been running in it since release day and have around 65 miles in it and wow is it comfy! I actually find it harder to go slower in, which isn’t necessarily a bad thing but not what I expected. The mid sole is like nothing I’ve ever felt! The fit is fantastic even having a wider foot, but I don’t feel like it really works as a long distance shoe. Not sure if it’s due to the lack of stability or the desire to go fast but for now it’s a good medium-ish distance shoe at quicker paces. Thanks Ethan, nice one!

I just logged my first run in these bad boys. I can say I haven't enjoyed a new shoe as much since clifton one. It's awesome. So comfortable, springy, cushy, and fairly fast for as soft it is. I've never really liked nike running shoes but they did an outstanding job on these. Great review, Ethan. Thanks for the recommendation.

Thanks for this great review. I am running in them since few months now. They are indeed super comfy and bouncy. Perfect trainers for long distance, 10+ but no problem to make easy training rounds of 5KM+ If the knee(s) hurts they do a good job too. Don't like the laces, way too short... and, compared to my Kiger or also Pegasus, the Invicible gets instabile in curves - Can't take them tight and need to slow down a little.

I just picked up a pair of these, because after trying them on I couldn’t not get them. They are that comfortable!
I will be using these for everyday wear, and had been using ultraboost 19s and 20s as my everyday wear. I was hoping for more from the 21s, and was disappointed.
I also use Hoka One One Rincons for my long days and Brooks Adrenaline GTS 20s for my intense/faster days.
But WOW, these zoom x are an impressive right out of the box and offer a great replacement to those looking for an ultraboost alternative.

It hasn't done it for me. I got a pair recently and did 23km for my first run. I found it different but my feet and legs felt pretty good afterwards. The next long run was split, because COVID restrictions meant I had to run 6km on my treadmill before going out for 20km. I got some odd pain in my left knee. The next day my knee started hurting a lot. It turns out the shoe shifts the load in my knees and I developed Quadricep Tendinitis. It got an appointment the next day and my physio said no more long runs in the Invincible. It cost $250 in Australia, which is a lot for 43kms.

I was able to get my hands on a neon green/yellow zoom x invincible shoe for $80. My only negatives is the shoelaces are too short.
Other than that for once a running shoe has exceeded my expectations. Extremely cushion bouncy pillow soft under my feet. I am 5'10 230 lb and a heavy runner. I have 70% cartilage left in the left leg not in my right and while it hurts the next morning I'm absolutely addicted to running. Besides the doctor said I have to keep my knees moving as I'm too young to have knee replacement at 52. So hopefully these shoes will address some of the tenderness my knees feel after my 3 Mile treadmill run. Sadly, I can no longer run on the streets. I will update this review in 6 months.

I think your comments are spot on. As someone who races in the Alphafly,, this shoe disappointed me a bit. The upper is kind of overdone. My feet get hot in it. I got the shoe in an all black upper, so the looks are fine. But it is a rather blocky, chunky thing. I guess they had to make it stable in some way. To me, the better daily trainer is the Adidas Adios adizero pro. It's soft and has a bit of stability at the same time. Plus, it's a lot lighter.

  • @paulos9900

Love this shoe. Super bouncy and comfortable. I was instantly and noticably faster in them than my old Asic gel nimbus 21s. Only minor issue i've had with it is a bit of friction around the ball of the foot (especially around where the big toe joins the rest of the foot). Again it's a minor issue though and could even probably be solved by simply using socks with a bit more padding in that area.

@@scottsnowden7177 From what you've mentioned I'd try the Ghost 13 before any others. Though I've not ran in the Ghosts, I think they'll be closer to the Glycerin cushion/ride than the Invincibles by far. In my experience, and I only ran about 30 miles in the Invincibles, they were awful. They had almost zero breathability, were squishy to the point that they felt to me like running in energy sapping dry sand and they were just so bulky and loud!! I know they have worked for some but after that experience the Glycerins were heaven-sent!

Seems like a great shoe, though as mentioned, I think parts of the shoe are a little overbuilt or unnecessary and the price is fairly high (although Nike does do it's research when it comes to marketing).

Great review GR. I'm perplexed with Nike. I have so loved the Epic React. Why must Nike create what I call, "race cars" or" tow trucks?" Nothing for a light weight like me. How about making
an Invincilble Lite? Asics has moved in that direction with their stalwart models. I've moved on to the new Puma line since they offer much more versatility and cush/response. Thanks.

I love the awesome shoe reviews. At 240 lbs, I find soft shoes make me feel unstable when I run in them, especially on off camber terrain. I tried hoka bondi 6 wide (still a smidge narrow), brooks adrenaline 19s (crushed my toes even in the wide shoe), new balance 880s, etc. I found vfive fingers works for me, I have Xero HFS shoes also. They just work for me and my wide 11.5 3e feet , less injury at the knee. Occasionally at the expense of some Achilles when I get sloppy at a 10 to 15 mile run. I am no pro runner, like to keep some body mass and still have endurance. All that to say, like GR says, buy them from a place you can run and return if needed. Awesome review as usual!!!

I have both the react infinity and zoomx invincible, both are comfortable but zoomx is just 10x softer and squishy. Depends on what u prefer doe. React is firmer and more stable so i like it more for longer runs cause i dont have to think about it but the zoomx saves my legs on those tired days/recovery runs

I have it and 3 runs / roughly 40 miles & not sure I like it (bought it with birthday discount). I prefer the feel of react foam. The shoes are really loud! As a city runner, it's actually quite useful - where pedestrians wouldn't hear me in my Epic React Nikes or Pegasus 37, in the Invincible, pedestrians part and make a space for me well in advance of me getting to them. Hopefully the pebax zoomX will last.
I don't like that the cushion looses some ground feel and introduces some lag to your gait. I also think it encourages hitting the ground harder than a firmer sole - a bit like punching a wall will bare knuckles vs with a boxing glove. I worry that impact force is just dissipated further up the kinetic chain, like hips / back. Nike says there is a lot of science in injury avoidance behind this shoe though, so what do I know.

  • @raysollarsthehappyjogger5907

Only recently broke into the Nike brand with a clearance Pegasus 37 for $95. Though not my fav, it is a solid daily trainer. As for Hoka, they have become an old dog that needs to learn new tricks but the Bondi X is not the right trick for me! The Nike Invincible will not be a buy for me until they drop that price. With shoes like the Novoblast 2 costing only $130 and quite cushioned the Nike Invincible better think about a price point at $150 at most. With the Novablast 2 out there, this will remain a "why?"

  • @joaquinlopezperlwitz9015

  • @runnergy

Great video. Surprisingly good overall package coming from Nike. Very impressed with the fact that you ran 75 miles as so many reviews look like they hadn’t even ran in the shoes. My suggestion or request would be to do follow up videos with more like 300 miles to get more of a full experience on the shoes. As an fellow CZcamsr that would be a great way to add more content although your pretty prolific.
