The new Nike ZoomX Invincible is an insanely cushioned, bouncy long distance trainer from Nike. Featuring their popular (and expensive) ZoomX midsole foam, this shoe won't be for everyone as it's max cushioning can feel a bit unstable and lack precision. I'm curious what YOU think of the new Zoom X Invincible. Let us know in the comments below!

As a 60+ year old runner this shoe is brilliant! So forgiving and light on foot... legs are dancing with delight. I went with the white, neon yellow and blue color wave, a sharp look. Appreciate your honest review👍🏼😜
just turned 60 myself. love mine, just went past 100 miles on them. first Nike's in 40 years.
Man you guys are awesome. I hope I'm bad ass enough to still be running at that age!
Heard from other review it not suitable for very slow run. like 7 to 8 mins per km speed. it bounce back too fast.
Did you say "drops its keys in the bowl"? I love it!
Ha, a key party reference. I’m old.
So glad you reviewed this! I’ve been running in it since release day and have around 65 miles in it and wow is it comfy! I actually find it harder to go slower in, which isn’t necessarily a bad thing but not what I expected. The mid sole is like nothing I’ve ever felt! The fit is fantastic even having a wider foot, but I don’t feel like it really works as a long distance shoe. Not sure if it’s due to the lack of stability or the desire to go fast but for now it’s a good medium-ish distance shoe at quicker paces. Thanks Ethan, nice one!
I just logged my first run in these bad boys. I can say I haven't enjoyed a new shoe as much since clifton one. It's awesome. So comfortable, springy, cushy, and fairly fast for as soft it is. I've never really liked nike running shoes but they did an outstanding job on these. Great review, Ethan. Thanks for the recommendation.
Brilliant intro!
“Behind it’s hideous design...”
Then you get into the high level details. Well done. I’m a fan
Never felt this much love on a shoe since Clifton 1, this shoe is just awesome!
Thanks for this great review. I am running in them since few months now. They are indeed super comfy and bouncy. Perfect trainers for long distance, 10+ but no problem to make easy training rounds of 5KM+ If the knee(s) hurts they do a good job too. Don't like the laces, way too short... and, compared to my Kiger or also Pegasus, the Invicible gets instabile in curves - Can't take them tight and need to slow down a little.
Bought them after watching this video tried them for the first time today really comfortable enjoyed them very much, also because of you I’ve bought three pairs of the wildhorse 6 😂 love the channel keep it love from England
Hey Ethan,
I'm an older runner and have been watching your channel for more than 2 years. Your videos play a major role in which shoe I purchase. Great job of detailing pros/cons of running shoes! I'd love to know what's the brand of socks you were wearing with your Invincible Run shoes in the beginning of this video? I'm trying different socks for style and comfort. Stay positive and healthy!
I like that you weren't afraid to be super positive and enthusiastic about this shoe. 👍🏿👍🏿👍🏿I reviewed this shoe too and I my thoughts were the same as yours. You just said it more clearly lol. Great review!
Thanks for sharing your thoughts on the shoes!
this review is coming in very handy now.., they are discounted.., and the new one is going to drop soon. so it may be a definite buy now. Great review.
Just received mine this week and I’m very impressed. Agree on the price point and looks, but with Nike having the Pegasus Turbo at $180 with a ZoomX/React blend I can see them pricing this shoe in that same range with a full ZoomX midsole.
I really like these shoes. Unique sensations of softness and rebound from the very first runs. Perfect for very long distances, in my opinion. They follow me well even when the pace increases. I love them!
Same experience. It’s so soft and bouncy it took me a few minutes to get used to it. Did a longish light trail run and a short tempo run in them so far and the performance at tempo pace exceeded my expectation.
I like the men's colors more than the women's. I'm not a fan of the pink, so I bought the solid black version which I think looks good. I've only run in them once, but I really enjoyed them on that single outing.
I just picked up a pair of these, because after trying them on I couldn’t not get them. They are that comfortable!
I will be using these for everyday wear, and had been using ultraboost 19s and 20s as my everyday wear. I was hoping for more from the 21s, and was disappointed.
I also use Hoka One One Rincons for my long days and Brooks Adrenaline GTS 20s for my intense/faster days.
But WOW, these zoom x are an impressive right out of the box and offer a great replacement to those looking for an ultraboost alternative.
MAXIMUM SQUISH. For real though, this looks like a super fun shoe 🤩
Came here straight from Discord!
It’s like taking your feet to the fun fair... ridiculously bouncy! (Fun run)
It hasn't done it for me. I got a pair recently and did 23km for my first run. I found it different but my feet and legs felt pretty good afterwards. The next long run was split, because COVID restrictions meant I had to run 6km on my treadmill before going out for 20km. I got some odd pain in my left knee. The next day my knee started hurting a lot. It turns out the shoe shifts the load in my knees and I developed Quadricep Tendinitis. It got an appointment the next day and my physio said no more long runs in the Invincible. It cost $250 in Australia, which is a lot for 43kms.
I'm I the only one who busted up laughing both times he edited in "Nam Nam Nam!" 😆 Was totally not expecting that!
just bought, didn't try, my bank account was like what the heck dude, so im glad to see that reviews are all possitive as far as i've seen. fingers crossed, else i'll send them back.
Love the old school Mariners’ cap! Where d’ya pick it up? I have the same with a yellow bill that’s a bit OTP.
Congratulations on Summer of Wonder! Excellent work.
I want this shoe! $180 tho.... Great review.
I can pay with klarna monthly no interest
30 % off at nike shop this weekend ... bought an additional pair ...
Awesome bounce - great review as always. My feeling is that it a bit heavy at over 300g so would ideally have as part of rotation with something like a Hoka Rinco. BTW Are you going to do the Pegasus Trail 2 soon?
I was able to get my hands on a neon green/yellow zoom x invincible shoe for $80. My only negatives is the shoelaces are too short.
Other than that for once a running shoe has exceeded my expectations. Extremely cushion bouncy pillow soft under my feet. I am 5'10 230 lb and a heavy runner. I have 70% cartilage left in the left leg not in my right and while it hurts the next morning I'm absolutely addicted to running. Besides the doctor said I have to keep my knees moving as I'm too young to have knee replacement at 52. So hopefully these shoes will address some of the tenderness my knees feel after my 3 Mile treadmill run. Sadly, I can no longer run on the streets. I will update this review in 6 months.
Hi! great review, thanks! I normally wear size 8 (currently US 8 in Kayano 26), should i buy these on size 8 or 8.5? Thanks!
Agree with the laces - too short. Also agree it is very noisy but you get used to them. But what a shoe. It’s brilliant
Thank You for the review of the ZoomX Invincible, would you say they are better than the Clifton 8’s or the Rincon 3?
I have a pair of 4% that has 650km+, no longer have the trampoline effect but they feel wayyyy better than my other shoes...
I think your comments are spot on. As someone who races in the Alphafly,, this shoe disappointed me a bit. The upper is kind of overdone. My feet get hot in it. I got the shoe in an all black upper, so the looks are fine. But it is a rather blocky, chunky thing. I guess they had to make it stable in some way. To me, the better daily trainer is the Adidas Adios adizero pro. It's soft and has a bit of stability at the same time. Plus, it's a lot lighter.
Love this shoe. Super bouncy and comfortable. I was instantly and noticably faster in them than my old Asic gel nimbus 21s. Only minor issue i've had with it is a bit of friction around the ball of the foot (especially around where the big toe joins the rest of the foot). Again it's a minor issue though and could even probably be solved by simply using socks with a bit more padding in that area.
Have been running in three for four months. After 800k, I still love them! They are pretty solid. They are so good to walk in too, it’s like every step you take massages you at the same time. Used to use ASICS Kayano before this, this beats that.
I’m glad you said they were good to walk in too. I ordered these for an upcoming Disney trip (lots and lots of walking) I’m hoping they will be good and my feet won’t kill me at the end of each day. Do you think they are good for something like that?
@@Mendesfam12 Yep I think these will be perfect. I went hiking with these and can't complain.
I like it so much I bought two pairs in different colorways. One for lifestyle use in place of old versions of adidas ultraboost, and the other for daily trainer mainly.
How do they compare in size with Ultraboost, I wear an 11.5 in UB. Not sure what size to get in these.
@@kenwalker2794 they run true to size. One thing to note is that the toe box runs wider than ultraboost. Unless you have super narrow feet, you may go half size down. Otherwise, stay true to size.
I just bought white one for $110 from nike shop online! so exciting🏃🏾♀️
I’ve been running with nike airmax for 5month😂 now I have ankle issue..
can’t wait to running with zoomx!!!
I am slightly disappointed you didn't test its invincibility. Like taking it to to a fencing tournament or something.
So, THESE are the replacement for a Bondi in a shoe rotation, right? Great review, thank you
Your reviews have taught me alot, appreciate them. I'm just not able to get ahold of most of them being in the Philippines. We do have an Adidas outlet here, and being in need of training shoes(all concrete roads over here, no trails) what recommendation do you have. Being a senior appreciate reasonable cost...thanks
Great input… did you ever do an update on this model? I am a bigger runner and really value your opinion! Concerned about the durability for the price…
Great review Ethan. As a loyal Hoka fan for the past 5 years I couldn’t leave my local running store without taking a pair if Invincible’s with me. Incredibly comfortable and fits into my rotation as either an easy recovery or easy long run shoe. Hope it lasts!
How would you compare it with the Clifton 7 ?
@@DubaiRunner-hi1xb softer, more cushioned ride than even the Clifton, especially through the mid foot. If I get in a few long runs in the Invincible and then go to a Clifton it makes the Clifton feel fast a way more responsive somehow. I love them equally :)
@@simonkluckow8920 Thanks a lot . The only real issue now is the price point , you get awful lot of bang for your buck with the Clifton !
Ran in them for the first time on Saturday, agree with almost everything you said. Took them out for 13.1 and the bounce and energy return was amazing. The lack of stability in the shoe from the squish was noticeable - it almost felt like I rolled my ankle when I woke up Sunday. Hoping that was just me getting used to the sneaker - pretty excited to take them back out.
This one is pretty good, but the laces are so curiously short
@kofuzi at least he can say no one has paid him to review the Nike ZoomX Invincible. And don't you see the difference in his review vs. yours Kofuzi? night and day! he can actually pinpoint flawlessly his points about the shoe what he likes and doesn't like. You have yet to respond to my question if Nike "Donated" the Nike Zoomx Invincibles for your review? Yeah, suspect. Let me know how the cocktail party goes at headquarters.
@@seujorge1989 Kofuzi usually makes that statement at the start of the video but even if he doesn't you have to realise all the reviewers are on the hustle and aiming to make money. They wont trash a shoe but with good reviewers you can fill in the blanks for what they don't mention as probably being a negative.
Nike’s cost saving method!
@@seujorge1989 this comment is unnecessarily angry. Why would you get this upset about a shoe review? If you think somebody is getting paid to give favorable reviews and for some reason that upsets you just switch to another channel.
@@seujorge1989 this isn’t the first video I’ve seen you attacking Kovuzi about this shoe in the comments. Jeez man, go do some lunges or something and get on with your life.
Great review bro, i really like to buy one myself, but i’m still gonna wait till nike drops new colorway cus i also think this one is not very pretty compared to react infinity.
Trying to decide between this show or the brooks Aurora BL. Any recommendations between the 2. I am a casual runner
Great reviews as always but your old background was soooo much better.
How is the fit? Some of my other running shoes I have to upsize my shoes from a 9 to 9.5. Is this shoe a true fit or will I need to upsize?
Love this shoe. Finally a trainer for long runs from Nike! So soft, so comfortable... Way to go Nike
Little bit too much cushioning for me to call this a daily trainer. However as a recovery option this fit me is the best shoe money can buy. Agreed that the upper was a win. It was almost unexpected considering I’m kind of like meh on most flyknit uppers. Nice work👍🏽
I saw this review before I bought my first pair, and you were not sure of their durability then. I have over 400 miles on my Invincible's and they are look and still feel great, no excessive wear.. Not sure how yours are holding up, but they are worth the price to me and I have bought more pairs.
Why does everyone say these are ugly ??? They are Aesthetically pleasing to me 🤷🏽♂️
@thegingerrunner, nice reference to Synder Cut!
I guess this is an unpopular opinion but I do like the looks of the shoe. I recently ordered myself a pair & am very excited to start racking up the KM's!
Would you say these fit the same as an ultraboost or infinity react flyknit? Or are these more roomy? I’m a tts 11 and had to half size up in ultraboost and the infinity’s. Thanks
Off topic but any chance you can do a review of trail running hats. After a winter of running with trucker hats So my hood stays on, I am realizing I need a better lid to hold the hood up that doesn't limit my field of vision. Yet cycling hats that flip up kinda sorta look goofy when running...
Any plans on reviewing the Kinvara 12?
I was very suprised how much i liked the shoe. my first nike's in 40 years.
I used to buy the Vomero some years ago, for long easy miles, with some nice stability elements, then it went all firm and responsive and lost its way at #13- I'd hope this is a return to that style of simple, easy to wear, long miles, cushioned shoe. That rear outsole design even looks a bit like my Vomero 12!! Nike's range multi-overlaps so much, it's so confusing to the average buyer just trying to get a shoe that suits their use without spending a lot of money making errors- which I have done before.
How does this compare to thee Infinity Run2?
Do you think this shoe will help shin splints due to the cushion as well as being insanely fun or will it just make form worse and exacerbate problems?
Had to return these. I bought them as a daily shoe to stand in a lot. Sooo soft that it feels odd to balance in them. For distance running I bet they’re awesome
Which shoes are good to stand in alot ?
@@sohailzafar4340 HOKA Bondi
Is there a crack/hole in the forefoot area of the ZoomX foam on your left shoe? Saw it in the thumbnail
In My pair The foam on the bottom arch is wearing down and I've only used for walking
Can I wear it as an alternative to airmax 720 because Nike stop releasing 720 and I do not feel comfortable during walking as much as 720 ?
your reply would be highly appreciated
Did Nike go as far as using marshmellows for cushioning? Whole review all i could think of...but maybe i'm just hungry after my run
Just sent mine back. Overbuilt and clunky, and cheap - glad you enjoyed them, Ethan, and thank you for your review.
Returned mine too not long after receiving them. Very disappointing on many levels but the up-side is I bought Brooks Glycerin 19.... no regrets, all worked out well in the end!
@@klowther247 I have the Glycerin 19's and love the ride but the heel counter is tall and rigid and is digging into my achilles which I struggle with due to tendonitis. Do the invincibles dig into achilles? And if so would you know an alternate max cush daily please. Getting tired of orders and returns lol
@@scottsnowden7177 That's really unfortunate! I didn't have issues with the Invincible rubbing on my achilles so they may be worth trying. Nike do have a good returns policy on the Invincible and though you may be a bit fed up with orders & returns, they just may work for you. The NB1080 and Hokas Mach 4 or Clifton could be ideal as they are shaped to prevent achilles rubbing... All great shoes! Good luck, I hope you soon get sorted.
@@klowther247 Thanks for the detailed reply. I typically won't go lower than a 10 mm drop due to the achilles so the 9 mm with the Nike was a push but was willing to try if it was as soft a ride as Glycerins and no ankle/heel digging in. I usually go with Ghost but the 13's are the same as the Glycerins this year with heel counter digging and didn't want last years model as it was boring lol. The 1080 v11's looked appealing but seen varied reviews so undecided. Considering the Ghost 13 gtx as the heel counter looks lower in pics. Tricky to choose.
@@scottsnowden7177 From what you've mentioned I'd try the Ghost 13 before any others. Though I've not ran in the Ghosts, I think they'll be closer to the Glycerin cushion/ride than the Invincibles by far. In my experience, and I only ran about 30 miles in the Invincibles, they were awful. They had almost zero breathability, were squishy to the point that they felt to me like running in energy sapping dry sand and they were just so bulky and loud!! I know they have worked for some but after that experience the Glycerins were heaven-sent!
Are you going to be reviewing the React Infinity 2?
Can we please get an On Running review???? I currently run in On Running shoes due to easy accessibility, but would love to see a review of them. Trail running they have been great in a 2020 pair of Cloudventure but road running I am not sure (Cloudstratus). Would love to hear your feedback.
Shoe of the year for me but yah needs longer laces
Liking mine so far...no stability issues.
Does the midsole breakdown after like 100 miles like the rest of their shoes?
“Squish squish bush” had me sold i subscribe after that hahahahaha
*Bish*
Seems like a great shoe, though as mentioned, I think parts of the shoe are a little overbuilt or unnecessary and the price is fairly high (although Nike does do it's research when it comes to marketing).
I'm a 5.10' 150 pounds supinator man. I run 1-1.5 hour 5-6 times a week, 50% on-road and 50% easy trail. Is this shoe for me?
Great review GR. I'm perplexed with Nike. I have so loved the Epic React. Why must Nike create what I call, "race cars" or" tow trucks?" Nothing for a light weight like me. How about making
an Invincilble Lite? Asics has moved in that direction with their stalwart models. I've moved on to the new Puma line since they offer much more versatility and cush/response. Thanks.
Pretty sure Invincible Light = Infinify React. I love mine and am waffling between the 2nd version or these as my next shoe
Any chance I can get a response in how long these lasted for you? Miles you ran etc etc? The Cyber Monday deal ends soon.
It's not ugly invincible in my region, because the color are green(volt), black, and white. Those color are superb I think
The moment i put them on i remebered Hoka Bondi i had around 2014,i got the yellow ones much better looks.
What ring do you rock? Is it like tungsten?
I am watching tons of reviews on this shoe and none say how stiff/flexible the outsole is (I truely wish all reviews for all shoes included this! ). I need a shoe that is highly cushioned but has a super stiff outsole; is this such a shoe?
does anyone know how they fit for wide footers? for the infinity run 2 i had to go half a size up not too sure what to get in these.
Ive absolutely loved this shoe so far. Top of the rotation for me.
Which Hoka would you compare this too? Bondi?
Someone recommend a good set of laces for these shoes. Love them but laces are short as already pointed out
I love the awesome shoe reviews. At 240 lbs, I find soft shoes make me feel unstable when I run in them, especially on off camber terrain. I tried hoka bondi 6 wide (still a smidge narrow), brooks adrenaline 19s (crushed my toes even in the wide shoe), new balance 880s, etc. I found vfive fingers works for me, I have Xero HFS shoes also. They just work for me and my wide 11.5 3e feet , less injury at the knee. Occasionally at the expense of some Achilles when I get sloppy at a 10 to 15 mile run. I am no pro runner, like to keep some body mass and still have endurance. All that to say, like GR says, buy them from a place you can run and return if needed. Awesome review as usual!!!
Great shoe but sticking with the Bondi 7 for now because it costs less and moonlights as 12-ounce ankle weights to improve strength.
How’s the traction? I heard it’s slippery on wet floor
Did the weight hinder the running experience of this shoe at all?
Mine came with an air bubble stuck in the ZoomX on the right foot 😭
sir, what is the best running shoe for shin splint ?
Hoka One One Stionson ATR 6 or NIKE ZOOMX INVINCIBLE? Wish one will you @TheGingeRunner chose?
What's the difference of this ZoomX on the React foam?
I'm a react foam guy so I'm curious if this is more comfortable for everyday use.
I have both the react infinity and zoomx invincible, both are comfortable but zoomx is just 10x softer and squishy. Depends on what u prefer doe. React is firmer and more stable so i like it more for longer runs cause i dont have to think about it but the zoomx saves my legs on those tired days/recovery runs
Im not a runner, so does this shoes good for lifestyle lots of walking and commuting to work? Currently using adidas ultraboost and looking to expand my collection
Yup, the bounciest shoe I've ever tried. Feels like walking on a trampoline. Highly recommended for walking! But I'd suggest try it first at the nike store before making a decision!
Buy the one in the black & white color way. This shoe is not for running as they are too soft but perfect for walking & standing
Good to see Ethan bringing out his sense of humor in a review. Missed it.
I disagree about stability - I ran a progression in them on clumpy damp grass and had zero problems. Even traversing across a grass incline, I experienced no wobbling.
Agree. I’m much lighter in weight than the reviewer which probably explains his issue.
i just got my invincible 2, the running cadence from my phone detected wrongly. my other shoes the running cadence is 180/mins. but this Invincible 2, the running cadence only 140/mins. Probably is because of shoe is too soft. I am using run keeper apps. anyone have this experience?

is it too unstable for flat feet?
I agree, comfort of these shoes is amazing, love them. 👍🏻
I have it and 3 runs / roughly 40 miles & not sure I like it (bought it with birthday discount). I prefer the feel of react foam. The shoes are really loud! As a city runner, it's actually quite useful - where pedestrians wouldn't hear me in my Epic React Nikes or Pegasus 37, in the Invincible, pedestrians part and make a space for me well in advance of me getting to them. Hopefully the pebax zoomX will last.
I don't like that the cushion looses some ground feel and introduces some lag to your gait. I also think it encourages hitting the ground harder than a firmer sole - a bit like punching a wall will bare knuckles vs with a boxing glove. I worry that impact force is just dissipated further up the kinetic chain, like hips / back. Nike says there is a lot of science in injury avoidance behind this shoe though, so what do I know.
As an everyday work shoe, which one is best in comfort? react or zoomX?
Only recently broke into the Nike brand with a clearance Pegasus 37 for $95. Though not my fav, it is a solid daily trainer. As for Hoka, they have become an old dog that needs to learn new tricks but the Bondi X is not the right trick for me! The Nike Invincible will not be a buy for me until they drop that price. With shoes like the Novoblast 2 costing only $130 and quite cushioned the Nike Invincible better think about a price point at $150 at most. With the Novablast 2 out there, this will remain a "why?"
More cushion than the bondi 7?
Great video. Surprisingly good overall package coming from Nike. Very impressed with the fact that you ran 75 miles as so many reviews look like they hadn’t even ran in the shoes. My suggestion or request would be to do follow up videos with more like 300 miles to get more of a full experience on the shoes. As an fellow CZcamsr that would be a great way to add more content although your pretty prolific.
