I am Argentine and I always prepare my mushrooms with chimichurri sauce, but I let it marinate in a bowl with Malbec wine, soy sauce and chimichurri, then he grilled it and then added extra chimichurri to the grilled toast too !!! !! the best sandwiches in the world !! 🤤

Thank you for all the inspiration. I regularly lean into veg-based diet and try to keep my meat consumption low for years. My mom must have done a good job of getting me hooked on veggies from a young age. I honestly love the flavor and texture contrasts in my dishes and I feel like veg-based food is way more versatile without meat always taking center stage. But living in a culture that emphasizes meat so heavily it's difficult for me to figure out how and when to eat some of the more obscure plants. I found your channel a few weeks ago and I'm taking notes!

This dish is slammin', and I'm not a fan of mushrooms. I've been trying to introduce myself to them more and have leaned towards the maitake since they are good for immune support. As someone who is transitioning into a plant based lifestyle, I am so happy we tried this recipe today. Btw, Frankie is a doll. Love her pretty face and eyes.

Everything you guys make looks absolutely delicious, so I hate to leave a critical comment. Mushrooms are definitely not a meat substitute: they have negligible protein!
Why does it have to be branded as a "steak" sandwich? Mushrooms are delicious and don't need to be compared to steak.
Why do you care? You are aware that it's the month of the year where people try being vegan for the first time and are looking for comparisons and alternatives?
